I love this duo, off stream they always talk about how cute and kind the other is, but the second it’s on stream it becomes an all out war between them

Pekora's experienced, given that she has her rivalry with Miko. Korone's just naturally vicious. Yagoo initially hired her as a guard dog until he realized he could work with how cute she is around purple cats,.
While they mostly act like -comedian- idol, deep inside they're competitive gamer. Even Suisei is seriously competitive

I don't speak JP, so I can't follow her too close, but I remember when she first started getting into street fighter and seeing her in practice mode, putting in the work. Earlier today I opened her stream and saw her zone the absolute fuck out of a rando and get a clean perfect. She is an _incredibly_ powerful being.

Bro, I opened her stream earlier today and I was watching hit grounded anti-airs, one of the things I felt she needed to improve. She was also racking up win bonuses too. She'll be in Gold in just a bit. I wonder how she'll adjust to Gold players at that point? ^^

@@g2garuda like from this clip (havent watched the full rounds), she keeps jumping when Honda's headbutt is also used for closing in zoners, you can even alternate between the safer for shorter distances and the riskier one that has more range, other than that is just basic guarding of the projectiles, which just comes to matchup knowledge so cant be helped

I saw some of her stream today...she's starting to land anti-airs and her hit confirms are getting better. At this rate, I wonder if she'll hit Platinum at some point! :D
All of that practice Korone and her team did during the Tournament streams really paid off.
I see her putting the techniques and advice for JP her team taught her to use in this fight and it brings a smile to my face.
I hope she's still in contact with her teammates and hangs out with them sometimes.

Edit: I noticed Korone is still jumping back a lot. It's one of her weaknesses.
In this specific matchup jumping back (especially when you have departure placed) is actually pretty strong because JP can air throw both buttslam and headbutt on reaction with the space you create, Honda can't just walk you down for free because of departure, and your reward for catching headbutt or oihco with OD counter in the corner is potentially huge (5700 of you have the level 3 ready)

That's actually a pretty good example about the difference between Bronze and Silver; it's just grasping basic concepts like knowing some combos, having a basic gameplan, and knowing through experience how to get out of common situations.
Korone was holding her own at top-level tournaments, she's more than ready to throw hands.

It almost felt a little unfair since she basically has professional training for a little bit. But idk how good Pekora is on this game so maybe it is a fair fight.

I am a bit confused. It looks like a melee fighter is fighting a ranged fighter who can interrupt from a distance. I don't see how Pikora is supposed to get close enough to hit in the first place.
I understand they're having fun and I'm all for it but seeing all the randomness is painful...
I don't know much about Street Fighter, but as an MK fan, it looks like they have some good combos down. I'm very impressed
Pekora got some assistance using the auto-combo feature offered in modern controls, but I think if she actually studies the command list she could come up with her own similar combos after watching the autocombos so many times. I main Honda and he's one of the most fun characters to learn to hit intricate combos with, there's a hidden depth to playing him beyond just spamming headbutts and butt slams.
Korone on the other hand, she spent a whole week training with her team led by one of the top players in all of Japan for the Crazy Raccoon Cup. She also uses an arcade stick which is a huge help to do the motion inputs for special moves

Korone understimated Pekora at first and she quickly realize it was a bad idea. Korone as been trained by pros but this is literally the first SF game that Pekora ever played but like Botan and Korone said she learns and adapts quickly during the fight. Example Korone was messing with her teleporting behind Pekora untill she started to counter it and Korone had to stop doing it.

Pekora played a lot of Ranked in solo streams. I think she was initially placed in Rookie IIRC, so she learned a good bit on how to use Modern Honda in her climb up to Bronze.
I wouldn't say Korone "wiped the floor" with Botan. She beat Botan 2-0 in the practice the day before the tournament, but during the Tournament she only won with a 2-1 victory. Not to mention the last game was very close.

yes she had a whole training arc a while ago since she was part of a team tournament that mixed streamers and pro fighting game players. She was on Kazunokos team.

To be fair, Korone was trained by Nanai, the living Wikipedia of arcade style fighting games, the human walking encyclopedia. And she trained for a week by him, Pekora at this point has no chance, but she did put a good fight, it was very much enjoyable, the stream was a lot of fun.

Korone seems to really like Pekora.
Watching them play together is legit one of the best things to happen. The competitiveness is there with the desire to learn and get better while also having each Member embody their characteristics of play. PLus come on collabs are the absolute best!
She even dropped a One Piece reference at the end. If she didn't panic as much she would have reached Gold today, but it was close. Hopefully Korone will keep her winning streak over Almondo Usada next time too~
That Honda combo Pekora did on the first round probably is better than anything I did so far with the character

Korone's teleports on this FT5 ("first to 5", for those who don't know) were ON POINT. Like, seriously. That's one major improvement she showed since CR Cup.
It was 5-3, but it didn't feel like that at all. Not to put down Pekora, but Korone's losses were mostly due to being scared of Honda rushing her and then screwing up because of that (so, yeah, Korone still has to work on her nerves). Again, I'm not trying to put down Pekora, cause it's only natural that they're on very different levels, as Korone has been playing for a lot longer and got coaching from pros not too long ago for CR Cup (I'd love to see that happen for Pekora as well in the future, she could become a bit of a monster lol).
Pekora's match with Botan (which was a FT10 instead) was a lot closer and it was mostly cause Botan has noooooo idea how to deal with Honda's butt slam and she quite literally forgot she could jump lol (she even said so). She started to figure it out near the end though, so maybe next time it won't be so close (again, Botan also has the advantage that she got a little bit of coaching from pros in the past, in fact, Dogura even hopped in to teach her about Rashid after she was done playing with Pekora and that was very fun).
In short: great to see Korone showing big improvement (seriously, those teleports...!), even if she's still letting nerves get to her a little bit. Botan and Pekora's match was a lot closer and super fun to watch. And it's good to see coach Dogura return to teach Botan some fun stuff, but I'd love to see what Pekora can do with some coaching as well!

Pekora actually looked very strong in the first match against Korone (which Pekora won). One of Korone's favorite tactics is abusing JP's aerial dropkick but Pekora would punish it with Drive Impact and buttslam most of the time.
It was also after that first match that Korone would adapt and start using teleport to move around more.
I haven't followed her development too closely, and I'm still not super familiar with SF mechanics, but does Korone still have an issue with defense fundamentals in general? It looks like she definitely has a good grasp of JP's tools for offense though, just can't tell for sure on the other side.
Botan would probably feel more at home in Strive, maining Happy Chaos

Ranged characters are a nightmare for inexperienced fighting game players. Not to mention Korone literally trained this character for a tournament.
I dont know anything about SF but I really love the design of that oldman, korosan seems to be pretty strong.

Pekora actually has higher potential than Korone when it comes to fighting games difference is in SF6 Korone got trained by the Pros and I don't think she'll win easily if Pekora was also trained as well as Pekora has mostly trained by herself.

Just going off the facts that Korone has extensive arcade experience, trained by pros, participated in a tournament, and has continued to train afterwards.
Pekora could potentially be better, but she's got a long road to catch up if Korone keeps training the way she has been.
@@HaiseKuromeruMMD Not totally true because Honda is the easiest character to play and have a big character advantage over zoners, specifically JP and Korone dont really know to deal with the disadvantage. JP require a different strat to every type of character on different distance, that is barely obtainable with only week of training. Not mentioning Pekora is playing Modern which have easy input and assisted combo. Korone is on Classic, which mean she actually need to learn her combo.
But gotto say Pekora is surely better than Korone is her mental plays. the same type that is the most difficult to deal with once they read their opponent perfectly. There are popular player like Itazan or Fuudo and Seki from the last CP cup.
@@drk7648 I think the moment Pekora stops jump spamming and learns that Honda can close distances pretty quickly, things will start turning around for her. I haven't seen much of him myself yet, but I can tell he definitely has moves to stay on zoners.
@@keystrix3704 Honda actually cant really spam jump because he need charge input. He also got non punishable Butt smash(except DP which JP dont have it or perfect Parry) and His Headbutt tank projectile, Pekora can technically abuse Korone because Korone didnt learn any of it from Nanai.

Doesn't sound like a good idea, the last time she tried a Splatoon X rank endurance she broke down crying. Climbing rank is a far different hell than just playing any game for an endurance that she hasn't gotten too used to yet.
@@chillyfalcon tbf I've tried the ranked grind in both Splatoon and this game, and Splatoon is infuriating. Like I'll get salty at SF6 sometimes but that was nothing compared to how angry the constant losing streaks and watching my rank go down made me. It's meant to be a team game and if you solo queue, the cards are stacked against you.
