    I am a missionary in France. I needed to be uplifted and your music reminded me of the joy of being at a fun campfire party with Jesus. Thank you! I really needed this. I don't even know how. It must have been a friend... doesn't matter...THANK YOU

    Hello and greetings from Bulgaria! Thank you so much for this song - our family fell in love with it and it is on repeat since we first stumbled across it a month ago in Stotify. I hope it is OK that I transladed it into Bulgarian and we are singing it at our small church.

    6:30 - the “washy kind of sound” is the C to CMaj7 change (C drops to B, the M7th) - loving the changes, but for the E/G# at 8:39, if you can’t get Wendell’s stretch, I found it easier to use x-11-9-9-9-x (relative to capo).

      @@wendellkmusic ;) I eventually gave up on playing anything for that one beat other than the G# itself - it works! XD

    Wendell, I was driving across Newfoundland when your song jumped in the car and caused my soul to sing. I absolutely love this and am keen to share it. Bless you brother.

    We definitely refer to this as 'the drunken sailor song' at our church. It's a favourite among our congregation! Thanks for providing uplifting, upbeat, worshipful songs appropriate for congregational singing!

    C9, because the D is the 2nd, but it's over the 7th (Bb) - makes it a 9th chord. If you just played a C chord with a D in it, you could call it a C2. With the 7th and the added 2nd... I'm repeating myself. Great song - thank you so much.

    9:00 - the chord is a C9. (C Augmented would be C-E-G#) Great song!

    • @patrickhodson8715
      @patrickhodson8715 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does also have a Bb in it. Does C9 normally have a Bb in it?

    • @waltlindberg4636
      @waltlindberg4636 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@patrickhodson8715 Yes. Sometimes you'll see it labeled C7add9 or something like that, but the "9" implies a dominant 7th, which is the function of the Bb in this chord. (C Major chord with a D but no Bb is often labeled C2, or something like that.)

    Wendall, I enjoyed singing your song this morning in church. Excellent tune and lyrics that is appropriate to use for worship, which from me is high praise, because much of what is written currently has neither good lyrics, good music, or is written for corporate singing. I have to admit that immediately the tune reminded me of a song by Fleetwood Mac "What's the World Coming To" on their latest album, "Say You Will." Is their any chance you have heard their song?

    Hey Wendell, we missed your last Patreon concert -- so sorry. Being back in Belgium, the time zone difference kind of messes that up! I am connecting in this way: I have started to play along with you on my harmonica(s) -- this song is key of D and I have a Hohner Marine Band 365/28 SBS with the lower octave and playing with you, with it, is such a blast. Thanks for all you are doing for the Kingdom. Blessings.

    @Wendell Kimbrough - you didn’t explain the little walkdown at 4:43 and the hammer on/off at 4:17-4:19. ;)

    pretty pumped about this clinic on "7" chords. on acoustic not easy to get them to sound right.

    The tune for your chorus has a definite similarity to the chorus for Fleetwood Mac's song Steal Your Hear Away. See th-cam.com/video/p4EVEm-5vMI/w-d-xo.htmlm6s
    Were you influenced by Fleetwood Mac at all?
