Picked this one up at Essen as well. Great value for money and it's a fun puzzle to solve. Although I definitely agree on the screens, it would have been nice if they were a single, slightly bigger screen
You say the game doesn't require an app. Does that mean there are a few puzzles in the book, like Turing Machine (with additional puzzles requiring the app), or I need the app for setup and solutions no matter what?
@@TheBrokenMeeple So it is very similar to Turning Machine in that regard. I might have to pick this one up. Thanks.

Did you ever get to harder Turing machine scenarios? We played the hardest from the rulebook, its much harder. I have no idea where are they at compared to the hardest from the website. There is like 20 levels of difficulty on the web (7+ million code combinations). Then we brought the game to a week long ~60 people gaming event. It was most played game. Every advanced game sparked 1-2 hour long discussion about the advanced clue cards. People trying to convince others, that they dont understand it correctly. I think the rules could have provided more. Like always, bgg is here to help. Anyway, almost all sheets from the box were used in that week :D Very strange and very bold design. I like it, my wife loves it.
In terms of your "oh my God it'll go obsolete!" Gibe at app-haters, I present you with Drop Mix. I spent around £100 five years ago, from a large (the largest) publisher, and it’s now effectively a doorstop. So yes, I go out of my way to avoid the bloody things now.
@@TheBrokenMeeple it was a very good, approachable and interesting game. Until the app disappeared. At which point the game became *completely* unplayable. £100 was nothing like the full price for the bits that I did buy, and I didn’t get more than about half the packs. Sorry that you think they are not an issue, but while they can add value to a game if they are a core part of a game and not simply a quality of life add-on they *definitely* make the game a perishable commodity (with a relatively short shelf life).
Hey Luke, seems like you're making an effort to call out colour blind friendliness in games. Thanks for doing so as publishers don't have an excuse in 2023 in my opinion!

Totally agree!

There is a manual way to set up all games in the box and solutions in the book. The Web app just speeds it up and introduced additional daily puzzles.

No, it was my friends copy so I haven't tried them yet, but I've no doubt they will impress me more.
I'm surprised there's no comparison with Turing Machine, since they're both pure logic puzzles and from the same designer.
Errr same designer are you sure on that?
@@TheBrokenMeeple Yoann Levet, designer of ArcheOlogic, was the co-designer of Turing Machine
She needed a bigger name on the box then!
@@TheBrokenMeeple I think Yoann is male.

Some do fall victim to that, though £100 for Drop Mix, why?? 😖

You're welcome! I may not be colour blind but my dad is and other players I know.
@TheBrokenMeeple yes it can completely ruin a game all because they can't just put a pattern difference or something to distinguish close colours!
