    Have been using this app for about 2 months. Indoor grow and it works amazing honestly, helped me dial in my light height perfect 🙏

    As a new indoor grower, getting the lighting right was my biggest struggle. This app was a game changer for me. A couple points I'd add to your excellent explanation video...1. I have several different lights from several different manufacturers and have found that calibration for one light doesn't necessarily carry over to a different type. However, it still serves the purpose generally without multiple calibrations for the different lights as I'm not trying to push plants to the limit. If I were, then multiple calibrations would likely be required. 2. The Apple version requires a minimal fee to unlock the full spectrum LED as well as several other lighting types. 5 or 6 bucks, I think. 3. In addition to the 12,18 ,and 24 hour period selection, the adjacent + and - allow for dialing in alternative lighting periods. As you mentioned, it is well worth investing a few minutes of research to grasp the terms PAR, PPFD, Mols, Micro mols, and DLI in order to demystify this crucial aspect of plant science. Excellent video, sir.

    A great app. Thanks for sifting thru it and explaining it. I hate trying to figure out lighting math. I would typically set my lights close and just watch for any burn and then move them away a little if it occurred. This should help with all of that.

    I know for shure that, its absolutely not accurate, simply because the cheap sensor inside a phone, but it does help to determine to give a reasonable reading how strong your light is compare to other lights, but accurate no, then you really need a externe par meter hooked to a computer running a decent program, but then again this app can get you in the right direction 💪💚 happy growing yall

      As I discussed in the video . . . It’s close enough. But more importantly it provides more consistency than the power dial (potentiometer) provided by the light manufactures. That consistency combined with learning to read the plants response can help a grower get the light intensity where it needs to be for the best possible grow IMHO👍✌️

    I am using a Galaxy S21 and my readings before the calibration was way off than yours. Your was very close, mine was reading 1400PPFD@30CM using a Spider-Farmer SF1000 and should be 972. I did calibrate it anyway, let's see if the plants will be happy using this

    What’s the best diffuser to use & one more question, I take it that LED is on 100% , great video 🫶

    • @KootMed
      @KootMed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the light is tuned up to 100% power.
      As far as a diffuser goes, You can find diffuser information by doing a TH-cam search for “Photone Diffuser”. It’s my understanding that a diffuser is only required for Apple phones.
