Endurance racing pinnacle of motorsports
I love this format for IMSA. GTD is stacked with talent and a huge variety of teams and cars, and GTP and P2 are the perfect prototype classes to compliment each other, and have that mix of AmerIcan and international feel. Thank goodness they got rid of P3. I've been watching IMSA for years, and there have been all k inds of formats including challenge classes--which were fun but always felt a bit like grid fillers. This field has literally zero grid fillers, and I'm here for it.

Worst quali I've seen in ages, (In GTP) you get 3 laps to qualify along with tyres that still need to be warmed. No splits, no best sectors, nothing.... what the hell is up with IMSA compared to the rest of the world?
Im new to Endurance racing and the way the quali time still continue on red flag confuse me like... Why?...
Disagree with that pretty much. In those situations is actually when the skill kicks in and makes differences...
That’s what happens when there’s a small amount of time and someone crashes it’s always been like that, they have other races scheduled after and can’t eat in to the time

Repave would change the characteristics of the track. Originally laid with concrete blocks so the B17s that graced the base could be ready to train pilots in WW2.

When will the race start in Europe?
It starts just before 10am eastern. Depends on where you are in Europe, but from what I've seen add 6 hours to that. 4pm-ish (again, depending on your location)
At 14:25 Central Euro time. Check the IMSA Official TH-cam channel. The live race coverage is already in standby/pending for tomorrow.

Wondering how much better this track would be on a full,level, and not crazy bumpy asphalt track would be?
Same.. I know local race fans revere the bumps ( I have been there many times and I have a deep love for this event in particular) but I can't help but Imagine how much faster these cars would go without them. Shame we'll probably never know since fans will protest any attempts to repave the track with pitchforks.

Merge the specs and you will have it. The only rule I believe IMSA is requiring is that they need to build like 5,000 cars internationally or something like that.

He's doing the full season in WEC, not IMSA
He was in the WTR Andretti Acura for Daytona. His full season effort is in the #38 Team Jota Porsche 963's in WEC. I believe he was trying to do all the Endurance rounds in IMSA, but think he settled for just Daytona and the Full season in WEC.

Send them off one at a time best 2 laps out of 4 ! this will massively clean up all the tires and fuel BS ! every one starts the race with fuel and new tires ! the race needs to start at the green flag, not before with stupid qualifying rules ! With the longer qualifying sessions this will add more drama to the event !
Can they please resurface the fucking track, it’s unbelievable that they are even driving there. It seems like some of the bumps are higher than the Rocky Mountains.

@@augustortiz most manufacturers test new cars at Sebring to insure reliability. It’s a revenue stream.

It was announced during qualifying that the 2025 schedule was already confirmed. No details but it is on the IMSA web site and once again GTP will NOT be coming to Canada's CTMP (Mosport Park). I will go because I will not screw CTMP like Noonan and IMSA are doing and like GT World Challenge America and the SRO group.
Thanks Noonan and company for once again putting GTP cars on a crap street course (sorry Detroit fans but street courses almost always suck) because Penske wants them there AND he wanted an endurance race at Indy. They couldn't say "sorry Roger it's Detroit or an endurance race at Indy but not both". Bring back the spirit of Panoz and the ALMS FOR THE FANS.

Sebring is a track that has always been very bumpy and that is its characteristic.
But now I really think it's too much... the cars are jumping around like kangaroos, endangering the mechanics of the car and therefore endangering the drivers.
It should be resurfaced.
