Absolutely, I usually don't give up easy. But it has been uphill even with some rains! But I'll keep at it now that I am almost here full time!! Very soon!! Thanks Bob
Just got to get it to grow right!? lol Moisture and less weeds! I usually plant all the way through Oct especially when it's dry I wait for the next rain in the forecast.
Hopefully I'll at least get some trail cam pics of a few good ones. But this stuff takes time.. Like years of food plotting and passing so i'm not too worried about this season. Thanks
looks great my friend .wish we could get a rain havent had rain in 8 weeks now .i havent planted any fall plots because its so dry .deer are in the soybeans an early turnips that was planted in may .
Sorry to hear that best of luck with the rain! Yeah you can't beat mother nature you can only get lucky with good timing!! I ususally keep planting all through Oct heck I've even planted in early NOV before with wheat that still came up! Hope you get some fall plots down soon thanks
Funny how many people talk like they know everything about plots because they watch it on TH-cam when more than likely they don't even have land to plant food plots good job kapper looking good I over seeded brasukas in my soybeans last year killed @ 12 point score 168
I have only seen a few turkeys since they mated but we did see a few babies. The turkeys have to be close by. At one time we seen around 30 or more. The deer come up every evening before dark and most are bucks. Last 2 of them were fawns and now don't have their spots. Sometimes during the day they come up into the back yard and lay down for quite a while. We don't hunt but I can tell that the previous owners did by all the shells that come up when it rains, always picking them up. Knowing this guy he probably shot from the back deck. I think he was arrested for poaching.
I'll admit you have a decent group of bucks...waaayyy more than anything on my place....but good for you too bad for me!! I'm still waiting to see a really nice MATURE buck on your cams...one that looks like the neighbors HORSE got loose and is out in your field. Keep looking and fingers crossed you have a Muey Grande????
throw n grow has only worked for me after i had wheat in the winter and top dress ladino clover in it in the early spring late winter. Works great everytime. Espically if we get a late snow.
Great to see that great to see those turkeys! Shows that the coyotes are in check and the fawns should do well. Looking good man! Hard work pays off. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I'm not sold on them just yet that's for sure. Right now my old school tillage plot is beating the rest. I drilled some fall plots in IL over the last couple of seasons and they were not that great, a lot of unplanted space between the rows. The first year is always the worst.
White man build many large expensive food plots and hunts far away. Indian have small efficient food plot and hunts close!! (Old Native American saying)
Man are you growing rocks? Just kidding... I can see why you don't plow your plots deep ,it would destroy a disc. Good luck, at least your getting some rain to help germinate your seeds. Still to hot and dry to plant in south Louisiana.
Yeah unfortunatley one of my disc bearings blew so I dont' know how much longer that will last. Definitely can't till here I might as well try to sell that. Good luck getting some rain, ours shut off for now and the fescue is loving that!
With all the information out there today, there is no reason to be experimenting. Food plotting is easy if you follow a few simple steps, you can't control the weather, but cutting all the corners is simple a waste of money.
Yes there is always reasons to experiment. New ground, new soil types, less clay, better dirt, more rocks, ridge tops vs bottoms, ridge shelfs, ridge edges. They all plant differently and react differently.
Looking good! The rain will be a big help.
Good video Mr K 👍 certainly cant blame any plot failures on lack of trying 💪💪

Winter wheat and clover are hard to beat in the Ozarks!
Just got to get it to grow right!? lol Moisture and less weeds! I usually plant all the way through Oct especially when it's dry I wait for the next rain in the forecast.
Looks like rain coming I wouldn't worry about the weeds deer don't care good luck!
Looking good Kapper. Alot of rocks in the Ozarks. Wish you much success.
Thanks man, I will keep after it. The fescue is like Godzilla!!
Man you are just a little south of me and we have missed all the rains. Love seeing you getting some rain. We are super dry in Northeast Missouri.
Yeah even Phil and I at 30 miles apart will hit and miss the rain! It is dry now and the fescue is coming back strong!! Best of luck up there! Thanks
There's the kind of bucks I expect to see in that area thanks for bringing us the content kapper love that part of the state
Hopefully I'll at least get some trail cam pics of a few good ones. But this stuff takes time.. Like years of food plotting and passing so i'm not too worried about this season. Thanks

It's looking good, Joe!
Do you have an update on your house in Illinois?
Well it's uphill as you know, but at least its a start! We are supposed to close in 2 weeks!! Fingers crossed man! Thanks bud
I seen a place for sale in Wyoming, 40,000 acres for 85 million dollars. Who in their right mind could afford that!
wth..!

Oh snap! Nice buck! congrats! Some years it is much easier than others for plots that is for sure!
Many here own land and have planted plots for decades, even BRASSICA and SOY BEANS 😆

Sounds like you've got a nice little slice of pardise there!

I believe I will see one or two on camera or in person this season. But we'll see how things progress!

Roger that. My luck is consistent with throw and grow.... none! lol
I am liking what i see Kap 👀👀
Well if it were easy.... Ah heck you know the saying lol. But I'll keep after it and keep staggering them! Thanks
I imagine the turkeys may have wiped out a bunch of the throw and grow wheat.
yeah that was my thought too. Them buzzards will sit there day after day in any new dirt spot! lol
Great to see that great to see those turkeys! Shows that the coyotes are in check and the fawns should do well. Looking good man! Hard work pays off. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks JTF! I'll keep after it. You have to lose to know how to win!!
Just curious if there are any CRP programs for quail rehab would work there?
There are some equip programs that did not really cover much other than some seed and herbicide cost. Didn't seem worth it right now
If you keep looking at it, nothing will ever grow! "A watched pot never boils".
lmao now I know what my problem is!!
Time for a Grain Drill Kapper

Kapper is like the pilgrims… if he had to survive the winter on what he grows, not sure he would make it 😂
lol nice!
Yep I might not make it! But I'll keep at it!

Imagine spending 1.5 mill to have plots like those.
Think it was more like 1.9 mil. But can’t imagine it myself.
You guys are such little ankle biters.
@@joshs4109 Another ankle biter weighs in.
I'd much rather have more land than 'prettier' food plots..

He likes to just throw shit against the wall to see if it sticks. Not sure Mrs Kapper knows how much money and time he is flushing down the toilet. 😂

@@KapperOutdoors2.0 no reason to experiment when all you have to do is get a soil test done, takes a few days to get the results back.
