For the people who doesn't know what touhou is but they want know: Simple : Gensokyo, a place covered by the Hakurei Barrier were all the forgotten things ( gods, monster , urban legends, etc) live , there the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine Reimu and her Magician friend Marisa go to solve incident cause by the youkais. Hard with lore: Long time ago the world was full with youkais but day after day the people started to stop believibg in the youkais and gods because scientific revolution, the youkai and gods gave energy and are alive because the people believe in them but when they start forgetting about them , they die. Seeing this a group of Youkais, Humans and Gods( they are call sages and untul now we only know 3 , Yukari, Okina and Kasen) build Gensokyo a place were they can live without people believing in them , Gensokyo is protected by the Hakurei Barrier , the barrier mantain alive youkai and gods and also make Gensokyo invicible from the outside world . The vital point of the barrier is the Hakurei Shrine, this Shrine maintain a part of the barrier and there we have our protagonist, the Shrine Maiden in Paradise Reimu Hakurei is in charge there, she have the responsability of taken care of the shrine ( more because is her home) and solve the problems of Gensokyo. For the people who doesn't know what touhou is but they want know:
Simple :
Gensokyo, a place covered by the Hakurei Barrier were all the forgotten things ( gods, monster , urban legends, etc) live , there the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine Reimu and her Magician friend Marisa go to solve incident cause by the youkais.
Hard with lore:
Long time ago the world was full with youkais but day after day the people started to stop believibg in the youkais and gods because scientific revolution, the youkai and gods gave energy and are alive because the people believe in them but when they start forgetting about them , they die. Seeing this a group of Youkais, Humans and Gods( they are call sages and untul now we only know 3 , Yukari, Okina and Kasen) build Gensokyo a place were they can live without people believing in them , Gensokyo is protected by the Hakurei Barrier , the barrier mantain alive youkai and gods and also make Gensokyo invicible from the outside world . The vital point of the barrier is the Hakurei Shrine, this Shrine maintain a part of the barrier and there we have our protagonist, the Shrine Maiden in Paradise Reimu Hakurei is in charge there, she have the responsability of taken care of the shrine ( more because is her home) and solve the problems of Gensokyo. Reimu have solve some problems ( Touhou 1-5) and in the way make a good friend call Marisa, the ordinary magician that now is also helping Reimu in her job , after that there were and incident involving a vampire that was so strong that took the strongest youkai to beat her barely , Reimu seeing this problems she was worried abiyt Gensokyo and the Human village ( i don't know why is there a human village there) so Reimu created the Spell card system that was a can of game involving danmaku that would make the weakest human stand a chance against a youkai, the youkais have also agree to no attack the humans after that there is the windows era for touhou were we can see incidents like the vampire that created a scarlet mist that covered all Genoskyo ( EoSD) ,a ghost that was stealing the spring ( PCB) , a Oni that wanted only to party ( IaMP) , two lunarians and a Lunar rabbit that make a fake moon ( IN ) , ghost were possesing the flowers ( PoFV) , two goddesses and a shrine maiden reclaim a mountain as there own ( MoF) , a Celestial try to cause a giant earthquake.because she was bored and wanted attention ( SWR ) , a Nuclear Raven try to pulverize the earth ( IN) , a group of buddhist try to revive her leader ( UFO) , a group of taoist try to revive ( TD) , a gatekeeper , a shrinemaiden and a ice fairy saw a giant sillouthe ( UNL) , a Youkai that control emotion started to steal people hopes ( HM), a inchiling try to make the small people rule the world ( DDC ) , a high school girl try todestroy Gensokyo ( ULiL) , the lunarian try to conquer the earth ( LoLK) and a secret goddess try to see if Gensokyo was al right ( HSiFS)
P.S the danmaku game is non lethal so no one in touhou dies
