Akame ga Kill's Chelsea was too confident for her own good. She's a skilled assassin, but with most of her crutch coming from her teigu. By herself, she's incapable of direct encounters. Also, she seems to be capable of taking down slightly-above-average targets and below. But her method of assassinations fail to pass with the true monsters whom she was dealing with.
People usually get upset that so many people die in Akame Ga Kill, but that's the point, they're meant to die, in this world it's so dark and corrupted they have to give their lives and risk them to change the world. Granted in the manga Tatsumi and Mine both live and have a happy family together despite Tatsumi being stuck as a dragon for the rest of his life.

Probably kept Kurmoe alive so Wave had something to cling on to after the whole thing. @Urzaran she does have an I'd up backstory in Akame ga Kill 0 though I will be honest. Probably the reason she is so fucked up rn. In the manga, she also had to live with the guilt of all the people she murdered haunting her so that's also a bonus. She's also seen hugging Akame in bed telling her she's miserable and can't sleep because of all the souls she's taken.
I'm not one that typically cries when watching a show, but Koro-Sensei's death broke me. I've watched the whole show at least five times, and that scene still hits as hard as the first time.

Subaru first death was more surprising than rem's death since most people back in 2016 went on the series blind when watching re zero, since most of us only know its gonna be another generic isekai (and given the fact that the series were only popular in japan back then). Unlike eps 15 where there is so many sign that lead to rem dying on the eps like her injury, or the fact that she is alone facing an archbishop was just suicidal move.
Yeah I mean, when you're not aware, Subaru's death isn't even a possibility since it's the main character, but here you are with Subaru killed on the first eps

I think that Ai, from Oshi no ko is missing in this video and that I'm not the only one who thinks so. After a whole month, I was able to continue the series because of how much it broke me.😢

Wolfwood had me stifling an all out sobbing frenzy so as to not wake up my entire family. Then Milly basically knowing what had happened to her "dear". The soundtrack to that moment just made it so freaking perfect. Rakuen (Paradise) I think it is.
Wolfwood from Trigun ranks top one for me. The scene where he's begging himself not to die is tragic cause he's fighting hard but you know he's a goner.
I was around 12 years old when I read my first manga series, it was Akame Ga Kill. I didn't think much of Chelsea's death and now, looking back at it. Holy shit that's dark. Like imagine one of your close friends and comrades killed with their head on display as a warning while the rest of their body gets fed to a dog. Not to mention Asuka's death from Evangelion, holy fuck that anime and manga messed my shit up for weeks.

To be honest (spoilers from "ORB") Rafal's death was totally unexpected, and while it didn't affected me as much as Hughes' death for example, it still shocked me a lot, I got a bit attached to the character, and it was technically the main character. But ...even him wasn't protected from the eventual death...and that's something most anime won't do.
For those that don't know, Lelouch didn't die. He had the code that made him immortal. There is more to the series after that and it doesnt dissapoint.
It's not like that actually, where the timeline in which he gets a code and is revived by C.C. follows the timeline of the recap movies where Shirley didn't die, while the other one has Lelouch being really dead

Chelsea's death is tragic, indeed, but it's far from being "unexpected". She died, because she did totally unprofessional thing. Its sad to admit, but almost all of the Night Raid operatives, who were killed in action,were killed due to their absolutely stupid mistakes. Just a few died, because enemy were stronger.
Honestly Lelouch's death was not really unexpected to me. I kinda exoected it would end like that even from Session 1 on based on decades of Anime Experience with "pretend villain protagonists". What surprised me more was Big Spoilers for some events of the show that it was only necessary because it seemed like the world was out to literary screw over every attempt to do better. Tried to make up with Shirley? Woops she dead and he became worse because she was also a morality pet. Managed to get himself back together after the "big explosion"? Woops his people betrayed him because they feel for the honeyed words of an even worse manipulative bastard who managed to use missteps from earlier events to his advantage. There are quite a few moments like that in the show. So in the end he decided to be the villain they think he is and dying while being the most hated douche on the whole planet. It's one of the few shows where I didn't mind the Movieverse retcon where he came back, I just considered it the writers throwing him a bone finally.

I did see lelouch's death coming. it was the only way for a proper end after turning completely to someone else. I was just surprised about who did it and how it came to be.

I saw so plenty of dead scene sad me much that effect my mental while I was at work.

Here's the thing... dude named them Tekkadan in the first place as it's the Iron Flower That Blooms Twice. The survivors found better destinies. The Princess got Martian independence and the new political realities meant Gjallarhorn had to enact the social measures Tekkadan had fought for. Tekkadan did bloom again.

What is amazing is that when he dies, the sister cries for her brother as everything after Euphemia death seems to make sense like a huge hole filled with emotion with that cry and the song that's plays in the background.
Luffy went through 3 Arcs of suffering, to save his brother, freeing him and ended up seeing him dead, Even The OP VAs and Oda's Editors were furious.
