I installed spherical bearings in my swing arm on my 87 FXRS. Much better than the OEM Cleve-Bloks. I was getting weird vibrations through the frame . The spherical bearings tightened things up ,took the crazy stuff away. Your heavier swing arm is the way to go for sure . I beefed my original swing arm up a bit when I did the pivots. Your flipping the coil over so the ignition feed wires to the coil are where you can see them and get to them is rock solid idea. Functionality and reliability are what matters . Screw the pretty stuff. I.put small floor boards on my FXR and what a difference . Ten times less stress on the legs. Couldn't believe the difference ! Great bike , enjoy . Travel safe ! Arrive alive
Your bike is an incredible example of what a little time and knowledge can lead into. You made the bike fot you for what you wanted and for that, she's perfect. Fantastic job and gorgeous bike.
I had an FXR , one of the best harley's i'v had. I only would change yours by a dual front brake and a stabilizer on the lower front fork . These FXR's feels like beasts. Just love them.
Nothing like the FXR frame,... i have a 1990 FXRS that i love,... and will NEVER part with,... only 42,000 miles on her,... still have the evo motor in her,..with a mild andrews cam, mikuni carb and igintion,... woke up the motor just enough for me... you have a great bike,..love your vids,.. ride safe...
I never had a FXR but did have a '98 FXDS-C with Thunderheaders that I rode all over America, from Mexico to Canada. Put 100,000 miles on her until she was stolen, still miss that bike. Glad to see someone keeping the FXR alive!
The FXR chassis is the best Harley Platform. the Evo motor was considered a revolution but the FXR makes the performance and handling possible. Great choice in a bike that will never be old.
I just randomly came across this. That's not too far off of the Harley idea I've had in my head for the last 6 months.... you may be fueling a new investment in my life lol
Nice video can't wait to see more. I really like to go motorcycle camping was stoked to see those pictures of all your camping gear and that you did 22,000 miles when you got the thing. Now that would be some great videos I subscribed to her two wheels at less than six thousand subscribers watched her blow up hoping the same thing happens here good luck and look forward to seeing your adventures keep the shiny side up
Holy. Crazy couinsidence. I just saw your video. My wife's uncle had a blue 1996 FXR. Named Blue. He used to run the he'll out of it. But he kept it going. R.I.P. uncle Woody.
When I do purchase an f x r Super Glide or lowrider first upgrade swingarm trac dynamic thank you Kalen ! Also I will not speak against anybody's comment. everybody has a right! But I will comment.Let's not forget to triangulate it's all about the frame. When an FXR is the topic. IMHO. Kalen, 👍👍👍😁😁😁
been searching youtube and online for this setup and finally a video i found that actually talks about the engine bolt on and the baker 6 to go with it. nice setup. im gonna be looking into doing this to a 96 bad boy softail springer that has the EVO 80 possibly. very nice video!
Ain’t it great that all the comments ( mainly from men it seems) are so respectful, positive and encouraging. No sexism, no mocking, no shit. Just as it should be. I think we knuckle-dragging bikers can use those long arms to pat ourselves on the back.
The FXR is the best Harley Davidson ever produced for people that actually ride. Put 60,000 on my 1990 FXRS in 4yrs living in Upstate NY at the time. They are comfortable, handle incredibly well for a motorcycle that size.
Really dig the mods you did on blue! I buy old bikes for dirt cheap and build them into what they deserve in regards to engine work, mods, etc. You are 100% like myself and other true riders...you love to learn. Knowledge is power. I just purchased a 2020 Harley Softail Deluxe. The last one left in Canada! It should be at my house in a week or so once the mods are done. Pretty stoked and super excited to ride it! First road trip will be to Banff, Ab which is less than a hour from me. Gotta love those mountains! Go fast ⚡️ don’t die 👊🤘
So nice to se a woman who acceally knows what she is tacking aboudt and not just a pretty face . I realy enjoyed your video and you have a new subscriber ceap them comming
nice. Its fast for a Harley. I just recently got my hands on a 1986 FXR. Restoring it and upgrading a few things as I build a replica of Mickey Rourkes bike from the movie Harley Davidson and the marlborough man. Got it in march of this year.
So dope, the mods done to this FXR makes it even more gorgeous. I can't wait to pick up my own FXR. I love my FXLRS, but something about these just hits different.
Well thought out upgrades, for the use of the bike. My '92 FXLR was built for short rides. I am considering those Legend shocks, since the bike is so low, due to the frame / fork being raked.
Hello from Florida...I have the Legend suspension on my 17' SGS. I have the Aero A suspension and love it. I also have an 80/80 FXEF which is a bit of a forerunner of your FXR. Good looking channel...👍🌴👊
Very cool. Excellent job on the build. Thinking about trading my 2012 softail for a 93 FXDL. Love the older carb bikes. My shovelhead is the most fun bike I’ve ever rode and I miss the hell out of my 02 superglide. Keep rockin😎🤘
We have the same bike....same color to sweets....uve got taste.....ive gone and put a big inch motor as well.......did 14 episodes of sons on it as well......for is in my DNA
Love this bike! I saw it on a Biltwell rider profile I think. I’ve got an 83 with some of the same upgrades I went with RideTech though and RB Racing pipe. Great color as well I’m looking forward to more content on it 👍🏻
I put the T111 on my 2002 FXD kept the 585 ez start. All the power I need. Thought the 600 would cause drive train problems and even worse mileage. (Already down to 20 mpg😬) You have more money than me and a kooler bike😊
I have a 93 EVO Dyna, one of the most reliable and fun bikes I have owned. It’s great to see you made your FXR your own to fit your personal needs and tastes in terms of functionality and performance. I give you a lot of credit for building your own bike as opposed to just buying one off the showroom floor. As a machinist, builder/restorer I definitely can relate to someone creating their own version fun! Great sounding exhaust too!
Nice looking bike. I’m so jealous of these TH-camrs that get to go on those awesome rides around the country and world. Maybe someday when I’m not working crazy hours.
I passed my friend doing about 80 - 85 my '98 FXSTC started wobbling he said my bags looked like a bird flapping it's wings... I need a one of these... www.safetyalerts.com/nhtsa/99nhtsa/99e004.html
Why did you go to the 113? Since you travel as I do a smaller cubic inch motor set up similar would give better fuel economy. I know not a big thing but travel in Mexico and parts south gas can be an issue. I run a 90 FXRT tricked with the baker DD6, progressive suspension, Andrew cam and a reworked 88 from the 80. Works great. You did a great job on your bike, lots of fun... keep on traveling..
I noticed the shocks are at an angle , is that because of the swing arm ? I have an older FXR , just changed to olins rear shocks , they ride straight up and down . I was looking at lenthing the swing arm just a bit ,to give it the same angle . Ive an 86 FXRS , if that makes a difference ...Seems it would be a better angle for the shocks ,right now they feel too stiff and they are adjusted all the way out . Love your bike , love mine ...:-)
Nice bike! Love the blue color! I’ve got an 88 FXRS red original paint work, s&s 96 motor, and 98 bagger trans. It’s Johnny Cash bike! But it’s fun to ride!😂

I love to see the love and nonage you have of your bike. You are riding your bike .

One of the best bikes Harley ever made
THE best handling Harley ever made.
The only kind worth owning!!!
THIS is the reason i ride. Bikes like this are incredible. why harley doesnt have character like this anymore i dont know
I never had a FXR but did have a '98 FXDS-C with Thunderheaders that I rode all over America, from Mexico to Canada. Put 100,000 miles on her until she was stolen, still miss that bike. Glad to see someone keeping the FXR alive!
Nice bike. I just picked up and 85 FXRT that I am preparing to get to work on. You are an inspiration. Stay safe. see you in the wind!!!
The FXR chassis is the best Harley Platform. the Evo motor was considered a revolution but the FXR makes the performance and handling possible. Great choice in a bike that will never be old.
That is a beautiful FXR! I love seeing bikes that are actually ridden and used for traveling. Great video!
Love that blue. The SuperTrap looks great; didn’t know they were still around. Whole thing looks like the perfect FXR.
I just randomly came across this. That's not too far off of the Harley idea I've had in my head for the last 6 months.... you may be fueling a new investment in my life lol
And is it done by now?
Nice video can't wait to see more. I really like to go motorcycle camping was stoked to see those pictures of all your camping gear and that you did 22,000 miles when you got the thing. You did a nice job Karen. I just finished a 1987 FXRS-SP ground up build and love it.
I've had my 84 since 94 great scoot love what you did with yours A+
Holy. Crazy couinsidence. I just saw your video. My wife's uncle had a blue 1996 FXR. Named Blue. He used to run the he'll out of it. But he kept it going. R.I.P. uncle Woody.
Hmmm are you sure it was 1996 ?
Nice FXR best bike Harley ever made I got five of them
From the future, Very Nice Bike, I had the same bike, back in 1997/2000, then I purchased a DEUCE, now living in France.
When I do purchase an f x r Super Glide or lowrider first upgrade swingarm trac
dynamic thank you Kalen !
Also I will not speak against anybody's comment. everybody has a right! But I will comment.Let's not forget to triangulate it's all about the frame. When an

New sub love the bike and we can tell u know ur bike upgrades and by the tone of ur voice ur very happy and proud of all upgrades. Ride safe

Yes!! More of this. Hoping to cross paths and share some stories over a camp fire one day ! You rock.
Bad ass!.. My 1988 fxrp has been 3 completely different bikes in 32yrs...it never ends..
Hmmm needs more eagles
Clearly what missing are the tassels hanging from the handlebars
Just 1 side.
You need that exhaust...
Shade tree you do realize as evident by your own FXR that more eagles = more horsepower 🤷🏻♂️
Where the hell is her huffy bar pad??? Lol
'93 FXR owner/rider/tinkerer here, as well. After following your FXR-related stories on IG for some time, it's great to hear & see the details!
Really dig the mods you did on blue! I think I am in love !!!??? She actually knows her shit !!!! And she looks good!!!!!
Thanks for the tips. Getting ready to rebuild my 91 FXRS.
I had to back the video up at the end there. It's looking like you have a pushbutton on your starter. Very cool
Sweet. Nice video. I'm planning on getting a new FXR that I will be doing some custom work to. Your video gives me ideas.
Ya just gotta love and respect a woman that KNOWS her bike! Subscribed!
Harley needs to start making these again. Its the perfect all around bike.
So nice to se a woman who acceally knows what she is tacking aboudt and not just a pretty face . I realy enjoyed your video and you have a new subscriber ceap them comming

Rad fxr. A true rider description
I have a 1986 FXR, bought it new, still have it, Candy Red and perfectly stock...oh...I transformed it to a FXRT in 1998...Sweeter ride after that...
Very nice ride, you've done a lot of cool things to it and I hope it serves you well in times to come!
Some really great ideas there to consider for my '86 starting with the Trac Dynamics swingarm. Thanks much. (The music is a real distraction though.)

Super sweet bike! Beautiful lass! I ride a 99 Buell X1. Nothing beats a Vtwin American motor in the frame.
Harley Davidson is my favorite motorcycle🤗. Your motorcycle is really nice i must say😎👊👌
Nice! I love how dialed in u have ur ride specifically for the way u ride. Inspiring!
Nice FXR, looks clean also
Excellent build and nice video as well🤙🏽

That bike is as sweet as the owner is.
Yassss!!!! Love seeing you on TH-cam!! Thanks for sharing this lady. 🖤🖤
What percentage is actually an FXR now - new engine, suspension . . . .
Very cool story and bike.
I put the T111 on my 2002 FXD kept the 585 ez start. All the power I need. Thought the 600 would cause drive train problems and even worse mileage. (Already down to 20 mpg😬) You have more money than me and a kooler bike😊

I've got the # 23 FXDWG. Love it. S&S carb, Vance and Hines street sweepers. 43000 miles evo with big cam. Nothing but fun and love!
Harley should come out with the Thorien Model. This is awesome!
Totally cold view here... beautiful bike. I bet you look great on it. Nice to hear a woman talk bikes that knows what shes talking about.
Спасибо!) классный не только байк, но и хозяйка)

Use to be an fxr. Nice job, very awesome bike.
Awesome bike
Had to replace the belt on my 87 FXLR over the weekend and upgraded the charging system to a 32 AMP since the primary was apart
I noticed the shocks are at an angle , is that because of the swing arm ? I have an older FXR , just changed to olins rear shocks , they ride straight up and down . Love the upgrades, I have a 05 super glide fxd
Nice bike! Love the blue color! I’ve got an 88 FXRS red original paint work, s&s 96 motor, and 98 bagger trans. It’s Johnny Cash bike! But it’s fun to ride!😂
I’ve got a 1993 FXLR Anniversary Edition. Love it.
Cool stuff - would be great to see some future how-to vids of you installing all these great mods on your bike!
What a beautiful ride!
