Ontos is 100% Alvis. All the available evidence points to Ontos being Alvis.

@@michaelfissel1357 I believe they are referring to the fact that Alvis' redesign in the Definitive Edition pretty much confirmed that he is Ontos. The necklace he wears was changed from a key to the aegis' core crystal.

So out of curiosity, I downloaded the Japanese Voice pack and tried each one of the Monado Driver Arts with the Japanese voices. I found that exactly 6 of the Driver Arts used with the Monado change their names in Japanese, being all four of Morag's arts and Nia's Beam Thrust and Lucent Glance, and even then, they still aren't proper Monado Arts, just Arts that use the Monado. The rest of the Monado Driver Arts literally have the Drivers speaking their English names with their Japanese voices. Which means Nia and Zeke having only one Monado Art and Rex having four is, in fact, intentional.
I never realized the Monado was just a retooled Shield Hammer, that explains why I like Nia's attacks the most with it, I love the way she uses Shield Hammers. ^_^
Imagine a remaster of xenoblade chronicles 1 on the switch but with xenoblade 2 graphics, and how wierd it would be to see the cutscenes in that game but with shulk, fiora, and the rest of the bunch in the art style of shulk and fiora in xenoblade 2

Xenoblade 2 has a pretty unique art style but I think I kind of prefer Xenoblade 1’s art style tbh. A remake of the game where we can see everyone in Xenoblade 2’s art style would be more interesting than just scaling up the graphics or something though

You forgot to mention how Malos also has Monado Arts as his Blade Arts.
I feel like he didn't mention that because it's kinda obvious, and it's a "needless to say" thing
If you look at his blade in that fight it dose share the circle in the middle just like xenoblade 1’s monado

Malos' Blade is straight up a Dark Monado so the fact he has Monado Arts goes without saying.

Shulk and Fiora in this DLC is most likely them after the literal end of Xenoblade Chronicles as Shulk literally knows things about the Monado that he didn't have revealed to him until the end (or somewhere towards the end) of the game, coupled with the fact that Fiora is "normal" yet "knows how Poppy feels" (if you get what I mean).
Interesting hypothesis, but there may be a bit more to it.
While Rex has experience with the Aegis Sword, he actually doesn't do anything involving the actual power of the sword. He does what he would normally do with a sword, and nothing changes. We also see that Malos uses Monado Arts as well, specifically calling out "Monado (Buster, Armor, Eater)." We do not see Rex doing this, even when he awakens Pneuma (whose sword has similar elements to the Monados).
There are several factors which could have changed things.
1. As Shulk and Rex seem to have a greater bond than the others do, it's possible that Shulk would have taught him a bit more about how the Monado works than he would have done to the other three (4 counting Tora).
2. Rex would have the most experience with a blade of the Monado's type. While he doesn't have experience with the Monado itself, he knows his way around that specific type of blade, and would be able to dedicate more time to learning the Monado arts than to training with the blade itself.
3. It's possible that those with some blade connection would be able to handle more of its power. Morag has no special blade connection (and no Monado arts), Nia and Zeke have one Monado art, and Rex (having part of the Aegis's core in his chest, an excellent power absorber) has four. This could be supported by how Zeke and Rex (who are both, Blade Eaters, though Rex is a bit of a technicality) share an art, as they share that aspect of having a core crystal in their human biology.
Slight point of contention, but Rex does actually make some use of the Aegis Sword's powers that he didn't with the Broadsword.
Leaving aside him channeling the power of blade skills such as Glint, Lightspeed Flurry and Flaming Edge, a key difference is the art Rolling Smash.
With the Broadsword, Rolling Smash is a physical art, while it's an Ether Art on the Aegis Sword, which gives a clear indication that he is indeed channeling power from Pyra and Mythra into the attack.
In cutscenes we also see him throwing projectile attacks from the Aegis Sword, which is also something he obviously couldn't do with the old Broadsword.
I had noticed the reason for Morag's arts but not about Rex's arts. Nice deduction.
If you wanna know the jp names of the arts, play the jp dub for some time and you can basically hear them say the arts in Japanese just like in the English dub, except you don't have to decode some Japanese text you can deduce by hearing.

You could also add that their experience With Blades is the reason why they'rent collapsing Like Dunban. He didn't had the required potencial/power to weild a blade and yet he forced himself using such a powerful one over a long Period of time so instead of nosebleeding he lost his Arm and probably his life if he continued.
It's also not the real Monado. The real Monado had Zanza sealed inside it, and if Zanza didn't want you wielding it he'd lash out like a sort of defense system. This Monado is simply an artificial weapon made to resemble it by the archsage.

I know as a fact he has no arts for normal shield hammers (or any weapon type that isn't dual scythes) so it's super unlikely they'd patch ones in just for a reskin of it

Wasnt there a big thing about people not being able yo use the monardo. I mean Thats explained through dunban...so why then can cat lady, unlucky tom, the best girl morag, and rex rex use it with out even getting like leg cramps. I feel people forget about that small detail

Partly what Gizoid said, partly I believe because Shulk is acting as an intermediary and "sanitizing" its abilities. Rex as the Matter Driver would need less sanitization to be able to use it, and Morag with no special connection to the blade network, and by extension the Trinity Processor, would require the most.

the system which operated the conduit was the trinity processor, in which ontos is one part

The fiora and shulk are not from the end of the game because fiora has her long hair
if you listen to fiora during battle she clearly states that she had a mechanical body at some time.

That's funny because I thought poppi busters shield art could be used by any driver? which would make Monado shield not the first art shared by drivers. Fact check me on that I think it's called Inpregnable shield or something
Each weapon type has different arts for each driver, but a lot of them have very similar or identical effects across multiple drivers. Both Rex and Zeke have a shielding art with regular shield hammer, but they are different since Rex's is called Iron Wall and Zeke's is called Impregnable Shield. Monado Shield is the only driver art that has the exact same name and effect across multiple drivers.

Depends on when you compare them. Rex and Pyra with Shulk having the Monado 1? Shulk. Rex and Mythra with Shulk and Monado 2? Probably an even fight. Rex and Pneuma with Shulk and the Monado 3? Shulk if he is allowed the full godly powers that he had, since it was a pocket dimension, if not then it's probably another stalemate.
Sorry but alvis is not a simple driver core. He is the experiment computer given life. Again, he is not just a simple processor but a combination of all.
Alvis is the Ontos core of the trinity processor. The reason he was so much more powerful comparitively is because XC1 takes place in a pocket dimension created by the trinity processor and Conduit during the events prior to XC2
