Agree with above posts Many people these days are just plain self absorbed and with neighbours sometimes you have no choice but to move.

I'm glad it helped! Saying no can be tough, but it's key to protecting your peace and happiness. Keep focusing on the positive!

Absolute truth, esp of the neighbors. The sooner we avoid such people, better for one's well being. I got myself into trouble by choosing a horrific landlord who had all the 3 types in one solid family. 3 petrified years of my life in such horrific house turned my positivity to darkness, despite close connection to god, I was in darkness. However, I avoided the landlord lady and her mean family, they tried to annoy me everyday, to avoid seeing them downstairs, i ended up in fear and avoidance of the weird experience! Horrific is the term. When we find some one uncomfortable for our soul, we need to learn to give up on them right away and move to a better space. I ended up losing my peace, money and job being in the toxic house with an irritating unacceptable behavior of the landlord. Some people will never change and those horrific people are one such examples.

I'm so sorry you went through that. It's true-when someone disrupts our peace, it's essential to remove ourselves from that environment. Your strength in getting through such a tough situation is admirable. Wishing you much better days ahead!

There is a saying: if you lend money to a friend, you will loose both money and friend...

Absolutely truth. The roommate I had in Oregon is what you just described. There were some new neighbors next door, I think a few ladies and the roomy had the nerve to tell me that those ladies are lesbians, OMG sofw and who the hell cares. I feel sorry for anyone who lives near this person and some of the other people I used to have in my life. I went no contact and blocked and moved away from all the toxic village idiots that were in my life. 👍👍

I agreed. Till I put one up because my neighbour had no boundaries, then he started childishly attacking it!

My neighbours are dangerous. If you say the slightest thing other than hello, they store it up to use against you. One even stsljs me around the internet, despite me never spending time with them any more.

I also have bad neighbours. Therefore I am looking for a lonely little house to move to, because you will never be able to change badasses into polite persons...🤔

I feel you! Sometimes it seems like moving to a deserted island might be the only solution. If you find that perfect lonely little house, let me know-I might need to be your neighbor! 😉🏡

Unfortunately we CANNOT CHOOSE our neighbours unless you've a truckful of the THE FOLDING GREEN STUFF or a BAG OF CREDIT CARDS!

True, we can’t pick our neighbors, but we can definitely pick how we deal with them. A good fence works wonders-both for privacy and peace of mind. Maybe you should invest in one… or two!

Sorry, staying away from neighbors who are loud and rude is not resolved by boundries. How do you escape noise, bonfires etc. You can't, especially if you have already tried to resolve it nicely. Your advice there does not work at all.

You need your neighbors in case of emergency. They are faster to act than a phone call
