Prachtig gedaan. Geef je toevallig ook een workshop voor deze toepassing? Natuurlijk bereid tegen betaling. Nogal wat vragen over welke mal je gebruikt, epoxy en van alles. Mocht dat het geval zijn, laat het me weten. bvd.
Nice vid, what do you use for the " hard points for the wing " on minute 8.36 ? and on minute 6.19 you cut half of fabric in order to make space for the pilon? those new two peaces of fabric goes arround the pilon ? can you explain how you do that part please ? thanks !
Hello, wonderful achievement and very informative! where can I find this balloon? Because I want to produce parts using the same method. Thank you very much
Very nice Jaap! One clarification for the Americans watching (who didn't figure it out themselves) is that the "wire" in the video used to hold in the fabric overlap is actually sewing thread. In the US "wire" implies that it's made from metal. What are you using for mold release and are you putting anything on the balloon to help it slide out so easily?
Hey Loet! What a nice coincidence to view a random video and knowing the guy smiling into camera :) I hope you are doing very well! Greetings from switzerland, Raphael
If I would want to build a wing out of glass fiber or carbon or whatever around a foam core. Couldn't I make a foam core, then make a mold out of it. Then, making the ''empty'' wing using the mold, then instead of using a bladder/balloon, pour expanding foam in there? Then it will push the fabrik to the mold, and I get a foam core.
Excellent craftsmanship sir. Finally a proper presentation of how to deal with overlaping and triming excess cloth. I see you don't use gloves at work with epoxy. Do you use some sort of cream on your hands or you just wash your hands later? With what? Top choice of music too. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Jaap, One question, how long does it take to you ti finish the lamination and close the moulds, assuming you have the fabrics all cut, ready for the lay-up... Best! André
Really nice Jaap. I built a few Super Gee II by Mark Drela a few years ago. Obviously materials and techniques have developed since :-). I'm thinking on leaving the old pod an boom style and trying this kind of fuselage instead. Ehrmm.. it looks like you are using TeXtreme fabric ? What weights are you using for the skin and the UD reinforcements ? I've been using 2x 61gram Kevlar layups for my pods combined with ready made booms. But Kevlar is a pain in the butt to work with and would like to try this fancy spread tow fabrics. But they are expensive and a tip of roughly what weights to start with would be appreciated. Thanks !
Hello Jaap Hogeboom; Dear friend I need some help .... I'm doing a fuselage and when I will fill the balloon into the mold it bursts and I end up losing all my work .... you tell me if what might be happening? Thanks a lot ... a hug
do you mean a similar video about building a dlg wing or similar building technique for building a wing? Loet Wakkerman has a great article on internet on how we buld our wings: try a search in google on "loet wakkerman positieve bouwwijze"
Great Job! Great Idea with the string to keep the layup from getting pinched between the mold!
What material is the mold made from? How was the mold made? Beautiful results.
Отличная работа! Отличное видео!

Parabéns pelo Trabalho, você poderia me dizer quanto pesa esta fuselagem?

Great job! Could you pls answer, how many layers of glass fabric are in the nose and what density of it?
Really great,well done

do you put something on the baloon in order not to get stick ? thanks
could you tell me how did you make the pylon in order to fit unto the mold?
The music, where the woman is singing, sounds like something from Cirque du Soleil!

What TV show was this on originally?
The scissors are also used to cut lexan bodies for rc cars.

Hi, how do you control the air pressure in the balloon?
How do you know if the pressure inside the mold is enough?
Thank you
Paulo Cardoso: You can set the required pressire on the compressor.

Outer layer spread tow (textreme) 45 degrees. 1 layer spread tow 0 degrees. 1 layer ud. Fabric is 60-100g.
Thanks !
Are you using the 260q or 350q balloon?
I have tried a different kind of balloon, and on in five seems to break, cheap though!
Use 2 balloons! Not sure about 260q or 350q. We use the 360 SEM.
Wow!
Arbeidsintensief. En wat een resultaat, fantastisch!
Is there a special reason for using glass fibre for the tip instead of carbon fibre?
+Peter M. Carbon blocks radio signals, glass does not.
Ahh right, i completly forgot that :D
Thanks!
The mold has been made from epoxy around a positive model. Google for "epoxy mould" to see how thats done.
Thanks for sharing. Is the mold reinforced with fiberglass, or are there any additives?
from witch material is the mold from? and whre can i get this material
What song is this!!???
классная работа!!!
how do you make the mould ?
Very nice!
The balloons are from Qualatex.
Really Really great.
Can you specify the kind of baloon?
Amazing job!!!
great video

First song, what is the name?
I think wearing protective gloves is a good idea when working with epoxy...?
Very nice. I would like to know what is the material of ballon tube? If we can fabricate ourself (for another shape)?
Qualatex balloons.
Dinh Quy VU there are some that make their own blatter
epoxy without gloves : no comment !!!!!
you should wear gloves when working with epoxy
Hi, very nice.
Can you make a few parts for me?
Thing of beauty {"_*}

Good but would have been a lot more instructive with some comments rather than really irritating music
thumbs down for the disracting music
an hour or so
