By far a really great exhaust sound. I work for a BMW dealership and drive many 335i's with many exhaust mods and this one sounds loud but yet it has that clean, pure N54/55 sound

Downpipe(s)? N55 is a single turbo so it would be downpipe correct? Just confused sorry.
My question is. How bad is the smell after going to cat less Downpipes? And is it at red lights? Or when do you get the bad smell if any at all?
Currently have catless DP, whats the difference in sound between the golf tee mod and PE( especially in the morning)

i have the performance exhaust on my 2011 n55 335i. Do you need the catless downpipes to get that turbo spooling noise?
Yes. The cats in the stock downpipes restrict the spool
Definitely do, but there is no fix currently for 02 sensor CEL, COBB and JB4 hides it. You can't pass emissions with a DP unless the CEL is manipulated.
a high flow DP will do the same but the catless nets more power.
If you haven't purchased your downpipes yet.. from what I've heard is that AR has more spooling noise than VRSF and BMS, not sure how true that statement is but I would look into it before purchasing a downpipe, unless your on a budget then I guess its between VRSF and BMS which are the better two downpipes on the market (in my opinion) for a low cost. If you aren't on a budget I would recommend AR downpipe
Seb Pereira That's my problem. I bought the AR, but catted. I have a member on the E90post who wants to trade with his catless. I like the AR cause it's 4" for more flow.

Sounds very good but a bit raspy. Ever consider putting resonators (one on each pipe) to remove take away a bit of the rasp and get a louder, deeper, and more throatier sound?
do you know where I can put resonators if I wanna keep my secondary cats on e90 n55 ... currently have bmw pe and catless dp
+Adeel Imam you can put them anywhere on your mid pipe..
+sebasupreme the only way I could fit these while keeping the secondary cats in place was in place of h pipe ... chk my channel for clips . I don't like how it sounds though. should I take out the resonators ?
since this bmw has an n55 engine, if i had an n54 and ran the same setup, would it still be the same sound?
