This is one one those songs where I felt every single word. I remember going through a time where I was trying to love someone when I didn’t love myself and this song just helps remind me that things could never work when you are feeling like this. You gotta have self love and know your worth.
This song came to mind when my boyfriend and I were constantly arguing but it was always me apologising, I was always wrong and he was always right. Its always good to be happy in a relationship but when situations need to be serious, and your man is constantly avoiding those types of conversation and getting mad, he ain't worth it. One of the worst feelings I'd ever felt was allowing any man to control being able to leave and walk back into my life whenever he felt like it. I loved him so much, we were together two years. He lost interest in me, slower replies to my text, never asked how my day was, sometimes spoke to me after months of absence but I never let go because I felt like I wasn't gonna get any better. Then I met this guy, he was perfect to me, made me feel special, was always there for me. Then I found out he had a girlfriend and he was having problems. He told me he'd break up with his girlfriend for me and I had to break up with my boyfriend for him, so I did it. I felt like my life was getting better by the day, it was going so well until I found out he never broke up with his girlfriend, I was so stupid to think any guy could ever put me first. I was so broken, I started to cry every night over a guy who was too greedy and had to have two girls at one time!? Over a guy who said I was pathetic for crying over a man I was with for two years, over a man who said I was only good for one thing and claimed no man will ever love me. Although I was so hurt by this experience, I learned such an important lesson and I want to warn other girls/boys that if you ever experienced any abuse in a relationship, physical, verbally, ect, or ever feel like they've lost interest in you, LET THEM GO. It will only cause more pain in the long run if you hold on. You may hurt at the moment but eventually that hurt will be gone and they're be the one hurting over you because they know they'll never get someone who loved them as much as you. Just Always know your worth and never think that you are not good enough, because I promise you, you are. ❤
