How cool is that! Back in the day 30 years ago my grandpa and uncles and I went somewhere in the "thumb" area to see a home built six row self propelled beat harvester. Don't know the guy's name that built it, but it was impressive, and I don't know what happened to it. But it would be fun to ride along in one of these. Thanks for watching! The sugar beet equipment in Michigan has sure changed in the past few years. I remember watching them with pull type harvesters always pulling trucks in muddy fields. Now with these all in one topper lifter self propelled machines and the loaders that can load from the field to the trucks it's amazing to see the changes.
@@MichiganFarmPhotos One of my earliest memories was in the early 80s watching the old Steiger with a push tire on it pushing tandem axle trucks around the muddy fields along side a 4 row harvester pulled through the fields. Then it was monster beat carts and a six-row harvester, and now we have these machines that do it in one pass. Amazing.
There are quite a few in Michigan they are not so popular out west in the red river valley but there are way more that 12 to 15 there are that many sitting on the lot at Ropa in Sandusky MI

Nice, there can't be many of these in the US.
I see more Ropa and Holmer then these Vervaet but I do think there are a few around in Michigan.
About 12/15 if I remember correctly and one 617 in Canada
