Hey, I know this is old by now, however, I watched a bunch of youtube videos on PS and I have to say these are by far the best. Clear, Decisive, and Great voice.
Wow, I did two colors at the end: made visible the first layer that was invisible, and with both layers visible I got the veins and the background in two different colors than the originals...woohoo. Stunning tutorial! I love the way it looks. Thank you so much for sharing this!!! 😍
Thanks for the tutorial, I always thought that the procedural generated textures in photoshop are seamless, or is it a feature of the newer versions of photoshop?
Hi! Good tutorial. But do you know how can I do from scratch this marble pattern to stay bigger as a pattern, example at 1600x1000 mm 300 DPI canvas, for fabric printing? The pattern stays too tiny in repeat. I can`t add a photo here.
Hi, I'm new to Photoshop. Trying to follow your video but I'm stuck with using filters. Difference cloud filter is grey-ed out on a new blank document with the layer selected. But I find them enabled on an image. Can you help me fix this? Thanks
Hi, first this is great! One question is that I was trying to use this texture on an A3 size paper. But the look is great on same size canvas but as soon as your canvas is way bigger the texture is too busy. I tried making bigger ones but the render difference clouds doesn't seem to let me. So I tried 800x800 canvas and increasing resolution to get a bigger pattern. And it works a bit but not the expected result as in your 800x800px canvas. Any ideas?
Great tutorial. I'm very impressed with your channel. Question, if I wanted to add some rose gold or metallic to some of the veins, would I just paint it in? Can you paint with styles? Thanks.
Thanks, Leslie! It's really easy. Just add a gold foil texture over the marble and change the blending mode to Lighten or Screen. You might need to make the marble a bit darker by adjusting the levels. You could also select the veins you want and use a clipping mask.
Thanks for your answer. But then it becomes black. I tried to turn the white simple marble structrue in black with (cmd+i) but then it looks like lightning in the sky. You know what I mean. Any tips? All the best, Ann
Not sure what type of marble your are trying to make. I guess if you use a black background it will look like lightning :-) This method works best with a light background, but you can try using a different blending mode than Screen.
Do you want to change the color of the veins and the background for the same image? You should change the color of the veins first and maybe merge all the layers. Then add a new solid color layer and change the background color.
@@bycristinasilvia I tried to do it, but the effect is really different, the texture looks more dense. I'd love to recreate exactly that pattern on a 1000 x 1000 document (300dpi) because I need it to print in this dimension.
When I get to the screen step, it doesn't give me the nice soft effect like yours at 2:11. I still have harsh dark lines around the border of mine. Is there an effect I can add on top to fix that? Or do you know why this might be happening? Thank you for your tutorials they are very easy to follow!
It's hard to tell without seeing the pattern. Did you rotate the second layer before you changed the blending mode? Or maybe you need to adjust the levels. You could try to lighten the texture, but it should be soft without other effects.
I fiddled around with it a couple times and it seems if I rotate from the "Image" dropdown menu instead of with the "Edit" dropdown menu as you did in the tutorial, thats when I get a strange effect!
This tutorial works best for a white marble texture, but you can invert the colors. Just create a normal marble texture, merge all the layers, then go to Image > Adjustments > Invert (Ctrl + I).
Yes, it's really easy. After you make the marble, go to Image > Adjustments > Invert (Ctrl + I). This will invert the colors so you will have a black marble with white swirls. Then add a new solid color layer above the marble texture and change the layer's blending mode to Screen.
I tried it but there must be an issue with the newer updates because it turned all brown and grey no lines appeared. Update: Fixed it. You have to make sure your color mode is RGB. CMYK won't work!
@@bycristinasilvia That trick works with a LOT of the filters to make them seamless Protip2: You don't have to have perfect squares for most filters, as long as each edge is a power of two MOST filters will still maintain seamless. For this tutorial (and most applications) squares make the most sense, but there's options...
Hey I found this through Pinterest and I fell in love but I use a program similar called Gimp and I was wondering if you knew if this can be applied to Gimp as well? Thanks! Btw the Thumbnail is GOREGOUS IM IN LOVE LOL
Thank you so much, Tiffany! I haven't used Gimp in years. You can try it. I know it has the tools needed for this tutorial, but you might not get the same texture. If you want to try this, you can download Photoshop from Adobe's website. I think they have a 7-day free trial.
Theres an easier way to make it seamless. with render clouds and clouds difference and value equal to a multiple of 128 will be seamless. Excellent video though. Never thought of making my own marbles.
Awesome and simple tutorial. Thank you Cristina
Thanks for the life saving tutorials.
Decent tutorial - very smartly done.
Nice one!

Perfect, you saved my day Elan !
Thanks heaps, this is something I've been wanting to figure out for YEARS... so obvious and simple!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! It saves me from purchasing ready-made prints now that I can do it on my own, yay!
I'm so glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! this video is awesome :)
Thanks! This really helped!

amazing tutorial. Have you got one that shows how to make it with a dark background and light veins?
Thanks! You can try inverting the colors using cmd/ctrl + i (you can find it under the Edit menu), but it doesn't look as realistic as the white one.

Do you know if you can make the background colour a dark colour? As I want the background dark green and the veins white.
You can try making one that's white with green veins and then invert the colors from Image > Adjustments > Invert.
Thanks ! it realo helpt !!
I'm glad to hear that, Naomi!

how do you do that? :( not very familiar with PS
@@bycristinasilvia How do I add the texture over the marble?
You are amazing
Thank you 😊
Great tutorial. Do you know how to create a cool black marble look?
Thanks, Annika! Just make a simple marble texture and recolor it like I showed in the last part of the tutorial.

It's probably because the one from Edit only rotates the selected layer, while the one from Image rotates all the layers. Hope everything works now!

Sorry about that! I forgot to mention the RGB color mode. Glad it works now!
Damn you just saved me money :)
I'm glad to hear that 😁
If you use a resolution that is the power of 2 (512x512, 1024x1024 etc.) the image will already be seamless and you can skip the clone stamp part.
Thanks! I didn't know that :-)
