- This is the new content added for the conclusion of Lae'zel's romance storyline in Baldur's Gate 3 which was added in patch 5. The patch 5 content starts from 5:59
This is for the Orpheus path, and I assume my having taken the Githyanki egg from the Creche also results in us now having a child.
Spoilers, obviously.
#fanvidfeed #baldursgate3 #laezel
"He will be a fine warrior, *if he chooses.* Or a poet, or an explorer, or a scholar."
So beautiful to watch her grow into her best self, choosing acceptance and love, along with her warrior spirit. You can tell that, even though she is a fighter, she loves unconditionally, now.
Maybe poor Xan just wants to become a cheesemaker
@@headcase2636 lae'zel would be cool with it, you seen the video.
Who’s Xan?
Tav & Lae'zels Child@@holdenjames9632
@@headcase2636 "Then he will become the greatest cheesemaker the astral sea has ever seen"
Lae'zel has actually become one of my faves. She can be a bit snarky but she's got a heart of gold and I love that you can help her rebel against Vlakith who is an evil deceitful cow
Her becoming a mother is such a beautiful ending
I love it when she smiles. Feel like I've tamed a dragon. Or own a cat.
@luvpiggery 😆 lol, that is a great comparison, love it 🤣
As i tell every, she grows on you
And if you really think about it her just telling you about the creche is sacrilege to do to outsiders
@YesThatWasa Yes. Going through the creche and then helping her to uncover the truth about Orpheus made me realise that she is much more than just a prickly alien. In my first playthrough I completely missed all of that content
"You are my today, and should fate will it, my tomorrow"
Damn, didn't know Lae'zel was a romantic.
Haha, she is full of surprises. Spoilers, but if you watch her proposal cinematic it's even more endearing.
She's very poetic for someone who doesn't know the word for "love".
Truly a warrior poet.
She has breath takeningly beautiful lines
She's a bigass tsundere
She calls me "source of my joy" and i folded
Xan is a callback to Baldur's Gate 1. He was a Elven Mage in Charm magic. Neat little detail.
"We're all doomed"
Me just spittaking at that name. At first I thought it was Xan who was caring for the child, but nope, they just... named him that apparently. Must have read an Elvish book of names, I guess. :V
@@M1cromanag3r "Eh. Onward, to futility."
I also left the egg from the monastery crèche with her, she was not my romance partner. I encouraged her to “become the Comet” and return to her people with the Prince’s Dragons (as he made the sacrifice).
At the party Lae'zel appears as an astral projected entity (purple translucent). She actually drops more lore about the Xan than what’s mentioned here. He is with the mages of Xamvadi'm. "I’d trust his care to no one else”.
In the battle against Vlaakith, Lae'zel also mentions she is responsible for securing an alliance with Zaerith Menyar-Ag-Gith, the immortal god-king of the githzerai, ruler of their capital, Shra'kt'lor, and an ascetic who reached out to her in good faith.
@@M1cromanag3r"life is so hollow."
I'm so glad this update gave closure to Laezel's side quest regarding the Gith egg. I was so disapponted when I went to all the trouble to keep the egg for Laezel to supposedly raise, only to end up with not a single mention towards the end of the game.
Lae'zel decided to be a mom? I love that for her.
I think you have to steal the egg from the hatchery but not give it to Lady Esther. If Laezel is in the party when you are stealing the egg she can convince the infirmary head to give her the egg voluntarily by having her promise to raise the child to become the strongest warrior the world has ever seen.
Up until this patch having the egg in your inventory until the end of the game did nothing.
@@kolr2873welp guess I won’t be getting this cutscene. Sold it immediately
@@nadadjean-julien5755 always other play throughs...
Oh, that's what I figured. I always keep the egg for myself. I just wish there was a little place we could make for it at camp after that. I'll take this too though. XD@@kolr2873
@@likeorasgod you’re a genius🤯
Despite the "reputation" githyanki possess, Lae'zel never gave me the impression of cruel and sadistic. Instead, I've always seen passion
Everything she does, she does earnestly and wholeheartedly
Her beliefs, her love, her hatred, and her way of communicating her emotions are all so poetic
I think her romance stands out to me because she comes off as "difficult" to love, but when she falls for Tav, she loves as intensely as shes lived her life
She was basically a teenager experiencing the outside world for the first time.
Well said. Love Lae'zel's character. 👏🏽
I did sort of have that impression at first, when playing the EA build. But I kept her around anyway, because she seemed handy in combat. Then when the bard class was released, I found that pleasing her without being a total jerk was easier than I'd originally thought, and I was able to get it on with her for the first time. And of course, I'd been dying to see where the whole creche quest would eventually lead, when the full release came out. Not only was I ultimately pleased with where her character arc goes, but I was even more pleased to see her in action, when leveled up. Once I'd get her past level 5, she'd practically become my Ace of Spades.
Lae'zel's epilogue seems like one of the best, Larion really outdone themself's with this & their game of the year success is well deserved imo.
5:00 Hey! She finally learned how to say Faerûn
Tch!
I was very proud of her.
I like that Withers roped Milil into performing songs at this party 😂😂
I love that they clearly modeled him off of Borislav who truly is the God of Music in this world.
@@Melcolloien yeah I think Milil is just a lesser deity of songs or something 🤔
@@elenalizabeth I know - he still fits perfectly since he represents the whole of a song, I meant what I wrote about Borislav though, he is the god of music here :) It felt fitting for them to use his face . Composers usually don't get enough recognition (like Milil expresses) He is such a great composer and really brought the game to the next level
@@Melcolloien oh you mean the actual composer 😂 I was getting confused. Oh yeah absolutely, it’s always music score that changes whether a movie or series or game is “okay” or “amazing”.
The Nightsong theme gave me full body goosebumps, and that whole scene had me tearing up
He's thrilled if you can remember him. I was a Bard, it made his day.
I mean, he's a Bard God through and through.. you gotta get washed up so you can have your comeback tour.
Love her arc, think I prefer letting her go and fight but she grows so much during the game.
I found it very bittersweet, when she left me behind to fight for her people. And then she isn't even at the party in person.
I hoped I could join her and Orpheus in smashing Vlaakith, but that ungortunately never was an option.
@@goldraven9478I think it is if you are Githyanki yourself.
The ending of them all meeting together again is the best path ever. The MC and Lae'zel staying together and fighting off any assassins after them is a great and dangerous life, but it is worth it. They help rebuild a city and stay together. I like how Lae'zel has a change in attitude and view on love. She is worth it, but she is just under Karlach 😊😊
No one mind that sound. It's just the melted remnants of my heart dripping on the floor.
Seriously though, this is such a wonderful ending!
Wait. So if you get the egg from the creche, Lae'zel will keep it, and raise it?
I need to know this because I decided to book it after exposing the truth to La zel
Yeh, I am assuming you get the son by taking the egg from the Creche. Lae'zel explicitly states she won't get pregnant through having sex with you so the baby can't have come from the two of you.
I lied to the woman who was wanting it (might have even killed her) because I didn't want her to take it to the Society of Brilliance or whatever, apparently if they raise it it does not go well.
Then I had Lae'zel carry the 40 pound egg around for the entirety of my campaign, just for the thematics of it. And then was surprised to hear it hatched in patch 5 and we have a little baby. :P Funnily enough it still makes me uneasy that Orpheus is upset with you about taking the egg.
I wonder if you were a githyanki would the conversation/actions go differently? @@Praetorian349
@@AhmetCanK I'm unsure, sorry. All I know about having a Gith Tav with Lae'zel is you get the option to go on Orpheus' crusade with her instead of the two options of asking her to stay or being left behind. :)
Would be interesting to see how the conversation differs.
@@AhmetCanK I'm doing a all Gith play through soon, Main char, Lae'zel, a second char made at the start through co-op and a hireling will be the party. I plan to romance her than and will try to keep the egg and at that part to see....so we can have little Githlings.
Such unmitigated couples drip. I can't even.
"I was afforded a destiny of my own choosing. [...] it is only right if I give Xan the same." s2
There has never been a character arc in gaming that glows as brightly as Lae'zel's
It would be interesting to see what happens if you play as Good Aligned Dark Urge considering the implications of having a hatchling.
You lose the bhaal blood, so very likely everything will be fine.
The hatchling in question is adopted from Crèche K'liir, so nothing results from that
I ran a redemption durge, I must have missed something because I didn't get this dialogue at all :/
I noticed you had no mindflayer with you in the end, was there something added where you can get this scene with orpheus and nobody turned illithid?
There's a tricky way to convince Orpheus not to need someone to turn Illithid, but it comes with a brief visual glitch in the conversation where you are Illithid for about 2 seconds. Then after that every interaction behaves as if you succeeded without needing anyone be Illithid.
You ask the Emperor to give you the tadpole that will turn you Illithid, then betray him and free Orpheus. You can then convince Orpheus to trust in Gale's plan to blow himself up, saying you have the tadpole you can use to turn Illithid if things don't work.
Gale blows himself up, no one has tentacles, everyone's happy. :) Except Gale.
i need to know how this is done
@@Carlos-qu1rd The steps I mention in the reply should cover it, but I can make a video walking through it if you like.
@@Praetorian349you can also side with Orpheus, have Gale turn illithid, then have Gale surrender the crown to Mystra and ask her to turn him human again.
@@alissapenridge7516 Oh wow, that’s so cool! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll have to try that end out at some stage.
i dont understand how laezel is the least played, she is by far the best character
I'm glad they did this, because the ending they gave her on release felt a bit lacklustre despite the constant build up with Vlaakith and Orpheus. It never felt like she fully came into her own...until now.
hot takes....lae zel has the most beautiful eyes in BG3
Aww man I told gale to kick rocks in the beginning, and my Orpheus ended up becoming a mind flayer lol. Still satisfied with my ending. Flew off into the sunset with lae'zel on dragons
the problem is for this to happen you have to basically kill Karlach. The "we need an ilithid thing is really annoying"
LAE'ZEL TAKE ME NOW PLEASE! KARLACH AND SHADOWHEART TOO I LOVE THIS ENERGY ❤️
She’s the best character
Wait, so you CAN have the githyanki egg child, but only if you're romancing Lae'zel?
I just did the epilogue where I didn't and she kept the egg and you can ask about him. So she's just a single mom in mine, whilst also leading the rebellion against Vlakkith
@@gabrielledickinson4530How can you give her egg? There is an option for that?
@@chillax319 There's no cutscene but I just put it in her inventory. Might not be required though.
@@gabrielledickinson4530 So Lae'zel is the only one who can raise the baby? Or at least the only one the game will actively acknowledge as raising him. That sucks.
Professional guide writer here working on BG3:
The only requirement for Lae'zel's ending with Xan is that you need to have taken the Gith egg and NOT a) given it to the Society of Brilliance or b) sold it.
The contents of the ending will change depending on Lae'zel's path, but where the egg specifically is in inventories or your romance will not affect Lae'zel taking the egg in the epilogue.
Honest to god, best character arc in the whole game
Wah wuh wah???? I just romanced Lae'zel and beat the game and didn't know you could've actually adopted the egg, goddammit!
I think it might be a later update.
I grow fonder of Lae'Zel.
While sweet, i feel like keeping her with you pc you are denying her from her true calling and fate. I wish there was an option that you join against vlaakith in the astral seas together
I'd personally argue it goes against her entire character arch, especially if you romance her. If you romance her she says you shown her true freedom, and how much she likes Faerun. If she stays with Tav it plays into this really nicely imo!
Wait what.?..I couldn't convince Orpheus to use Gale to destroy the Netherbrain and had to become a Mindflayer myself
(didn't want to sacrifice Orpheus for Lae'zel)...that romance ending was weird... :/
I just want to know where everyone gets these bad a** sets of armor.
Typo in the dialogue at 5:22 lol
why does everbody's game look good except mine
Maaan, it sucks that giving the Gith egg to the society of brilliance has such a terrible outcome lol. Their plan sounded great in theory. Raise a Gith away from all their usual violent ways and see if they could be a normal person, but they had to go teach him some crazy doctrine or w/e which he followed way too strictly and killed everyone. And then Voss chews me out for stealing it when I convinced the guy it would be better to give it to me than let it get destroyed.
These guys act like Wish/any form of resurrection isn't a thing.
Haha, the projection of Gale in the epilogue mentions his soul and physical form are completely wiped from existence so he can't be resurrected, unfortunately. :(
I've got a video of his little monologue about it.
Wait... Is it Xan THE XAN FROM BALDUR'S GATE 1??? THAT WIZARD?
BAE'ZEL BAE'ZEL BAE'ZEL
Xan as in Xandathar?
I'm not sure, but if you let her go to fight Vlaakith then during the epilogue she mentions she is raising him and references the name as meaning "freedom" so it might be the Githyanki word for it. :)
Assuming you mean "Xanathar" no, not the beholder.
And not Xan from BG1 either, but pretty clearly a reference to either it or more likely the Bioware dev's character that Xan was loosely based on.
The original Xan (the AD&D character) was a dual-wielding Githzerai fighter-mage, which is rather more fitting.
If you are a gith, you can go with them
How is there not an illythid in the party?
Did you have Karlach become the mind flayer and let her die in battle? I mean... Based off of what I know that is the best result
Nah, no one became a Mindflayer, I instead had Gale martyr himself to blow up the Netherbrain with his Netherese Orb. :)
So will it take 10 year for the next game?!
Whats that armor?

She's an Ambadassador now.
Im glad Fist Marcus decided to leave Absolute and have family with Laezel.
The way she becomes this fierce unfeeling snarky warrior into a wholesome and actually good lover and mother figure is just top notch character development
Gosh I remember in early access I was afraid she would always remain a bitch, but this character development is seriously too good!! Lae’zel is just such an interesting character.
The best Character development is in Lae'zel, a great story that you may build, My admiration to writers, as i veteran playing D&D i love how in this game the Astral Plane's Lore and Gith are embeded... a thing of beauty.
Lae'zel: "I will stay here."
Orpheus: "Okay. No dragon for you then."
Lae'zel: "I have made a horrible mistake."
All of the romances in this game are well done. Everything Larian has given us and continues to give us has set a new gold standard in gaming.
2:37 Between Orpheus choosing to fight Vlaakith and 9:53 Lae'Zel choosing to stay in Faerun I think this would make a far better origin point for the Githzerai breaking from the Githyanki in most D&D campaigns. It would definitely do a lot to explain why some player characters wandering Faerun are part of the Astral Sea peoples. In the Zerthimon story Githzerai probably have little reason to come to Faerun in the first place, which doesn't add up as well as if Orpheus sees this plane as allied, or if the PC is a descendant of Lae'Zel.
The game mentions them being here for a while and the monastery where they are set up has "ancient" gith soldiers as corpses scattered around, and Gale mentions it fell into ruins a long time ago. So haven't they been here a while already in the back story of this game?
Dude, I love seeing Lae'zel happy

Why does everything she says feel like silk on my ears? lol it’s like asmr or something
I could be wrong but i believe after seeing the hatchery in the creche if you speak to Lae'zel about it she tells you not every githyanki is capable of laying eggs and those that can are specially chosen by Vlaakith to do so meaning the hatchling most likely is indeed the one from the hatchery assuming you never handed it over to the lady outside the creche
