While there are some defenders, and some respectful comments, there are comments insisting that he must be "cleansed" referring to him as "Korihor" calling him a "Cancer" a "Narcissist," a "False Prophet, "you name it. Never actually refuting any point he makes. This is from believers.
You don't really hear this from non-believers because we find his critical look into scripture to be a good thing, regardless of his overall beliefs.

I was just watching the original when it suddenly switched to "video not available", and have been awaiting the reupload since then. As prophecied, it came back in our lifetime!
The only change I can identify is a period where the sound of the original is missing - likely scribal error, not intentional change. The end might have changed, I didn't get to see that before.

While I never refer to the serpent as "Satan" despite Christians insisting that it is, it really doesn't bode well for an omniscient, omnipotent and omnibenevolent God to allow Satan into Eden.
It is also important to note that in the story, the serpent doesn't lie and that this God acknowledges this.
Either this God is horribly weak to prevent gumming up the works at the very start of creation, or it was his plan all along and he is gaslighting Adam and Eve for doing something they were purposely too ignorant to prevent.

There was only Adam. Adam was naming all of the animals that God was creating! How long was Adam living before the creation of a woman! Genesis 2:18 Then Jehovah God said: “It is not good for the man to continue to be alone. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.” 19 Now Jehovah God had been forming from the ground every wild animal of the field and every flying creature of the heavens, and he began bringing them to the man to see what he would call each one; and whatever the man would call each living creature, that became its name. 20 So the man named all the domestic animals and the flying creatures of the heavens and every wild animal of the field, but for man there was no helper as a complement of him.

Adam's God is a God of Love. Adam loved his bride. Satan murdered Eve. So Adam sacrificed his life for his Bride. Jesus sacrificed his Life for his Bride. John 8:44...That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent seduced Eve by its cunning, your minds might be corrupted away from the sincerity and the chastity that are due the Christ.

      The Canon
Ezra 7:6 This Ezʹra came up from Babylon. He was a copyist* who was well-versed in* the Law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. The king granted everything he requested, for the hand of Jehovah his God was upon him.
The expression “Bible canon” came to denote the collection, or list, of books accepted as genuine inspired Scripture. The term “canon” is derived from the Hebrew word qa·nehʹ (reed). Reeds were used as a rule or measuring device. (Eze 41:8) Fittingly, the Bible canon, or catalog of inspired books, enables the reader to “measure” faith, doctrine, and conduct. The canon of the Hebrew Scriptures was established by the end of the fifth century B.C.E. According to Jewish tradition, the skilled scribe and inspired Bible writer Ezra began the work, and it was completed by Nehemiah. (Ezr 7:6, ftn.) The writing of the Christian Greek Scriptures was completed during the time that the gifts of the spirit were operative on Christ’s followers. (Joh 14:26; Re 1:1) Some Christians had the gift of “discernment of inspired expressions.” (1Co 12:10) Thus, they could, without referring the matter to a supposed church council, determine which of the letters the congregation received were inspired of God. With the death of John, the last apostle, this reliable chain of divinely inspired men came to an end. Therefore, with the book of Revelation, John’s Gospel, and his three letters, the Bible canon was closed. The testimony of later, noninspired writers is valuable only as an acknowledgment of the Bible canon, which God’s spirit had guided and authorized.

Do you follow God's Spirit directed world! Revelation 17:17
      Bible scholars say a lot.
Was the writings of the New Testament written in Aramaic. Was all the letters in Aramaic. Peter and Paul was writing letters to the congregations before the Gospels was even written. The Gospel of John has Jesus dying on a different day. They also say Matthew, Mark, Luke and John didn't right the Gospels. The Gospels came about at the time Peter and Paul and Jerusalem was destroyed by 70 AD. Jesus and the apostles spoke Aramaic.
It's because the only commonly circulated manuscripts are in Greek. The strong consensus of modern scholars is that Revelation was not written by either the apostle John nor by the author of John’s Gospel. To distinguish the author, they now refer to him simply as ‘John of Patmos’. Patmos was a Greek island and naturally the book was written in Greek to be read by Greek-speaking Christians.
But for the record, this is why when the boy Jesus taught at the Temple in Hebrew translating it into perfect Aramaic that the Rabbis were astounded. This was the first time a boy did what the priests could not do.
The four gospels is associated with the four living creatures Matthew the man, Mark the lion, Luke the ox, and John the eagle.
John has Jesus dying on a different day. It's the Day of Preparation not the Day of Preparation for Passover.
It was the day they prepare the lambs for sacrifice. While at the same time Jesus is prepared for sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah
The Apostle John who was the last Apostle. Who I believed received Revelation was the Q source for the gospels that scholars argue about. John would have been an eyewitness to all.

Dan has done it AGAIN! This is great timing, I was just thinking about an offhand comment he'd made in another video that the Rev Dragon was the Leviathan, but was hoping for more details, and here they are! I would like a little more info on HOW this happened tho, how exactly did the Leviathan, which doesn't seem to represent "evil" in the OT (I don't think God is even presented as killing it, as with Tiamat, just wrestling with it, maybe even for fun!) came to be identified with evil by the time of the NT. I also wonder if there is some connection between the garden serpent and the bronze serpent created by Moses in the desert for the jews to pray to (didn't that violate the 2nd Commandment, btw?)...Anyway, thanks for the great work, Dan!

    • @AurorXZ
      @AurorXZ ปีที่แล้ว +3

As a symbol of primordial Chaos, Leviathan represented _oppositional forces_ in the cosmos (and thus also on the parallel terrestrial plane). Within this framework, we see that it especially came to represent Empire-that wordly power always diametrically opposed to God's underdog people. This is why the prophets rail against their political enemies with such imagery, and the salvation of Israel in Isaiah is promised with God future slaying of Leviathan, freeing them from their tyrannical foes (Isaiah 27), and God's past killing of Leviathan is an appeal to justice against Babylon (Psalm 78; Isaiah 51). Ezekiel uses similar language against the figurehead of empire, Pharaoh, labeling him with the attributes and titles of Leviathan (Ezekiel 29, 32). Because of this, Mark Smith argues that the intentional demythologizing of the Sea in Genesis 1, and the absolute, unresisted mastery over it, is a theological statement meant to give hope to Israel in their oppression under empire: "fear not-God is master of the nations." The writer of Revelation, then, continues the prophetic tradition by using Leviathan for the new pinnacle of wordly Empire: Rome.

Hey Dan. I'm very curious about your thoughts on Adam and Eve's fall. I contend that they are judged unfairly. What's worse is that the serpent told the truth, God did not. The story makes sense if we see god as an antagonist, afraid of humans rising to his level. Dan talked about this and it explains why God was afraid Adam and Eve would be afraid they would eat from the tree of life as they then would be gods.

Recently enjoying learning about Manicheism and Valentinianism. A "Platonic and Jungian" take on truth and meaning found in symbols (found in religions) which at times can be better than language (the text) to express spiritual truths. The bias that forms around cultural symbols in texts when re examined objectively may be able to be seen anew in other contexts. Tribalism thru symbol interpretation is what causes inaccurate religious text interpretation which causes division(tribalism). And every tribe thinks they are right..because they are if they define what the symbols mean but..often their conclusions were not as originally intended. Although its very shocking, the serpent that "deceived" Eve told her the truth. like...whoa. And Moses held up the serpent staff....really now. Now this can mean that "truth" may not always be the best course of action (for the now)...but we do know ..truth eventually sets us free. Good video.

The serpent represents the concept of "the desire to have your cake and eat it too". Let me explain, in ancient traditions, the snake is always coming back around to eat it's own tail. This symbol is used to represent the human condition. The mind works like the stomach, the above is like the below, understanding the process of hunger/eating is to understand the process of want/have. After a fasting, the stomach pains for food, you get food, you have food, but you have to eat or "exhaust" food for it to be any good. Therefore you loose food, do not have food and after time passes you will pain in hunger again and this process repeats. Therefore likewise with all matters of conceptual wants and desires, you will want, you will obtain, but no matter what it is, it will exhaust, either from expenditure or by disinterest (it becomes boring), thus the above is like the below. The serpent, a vicious cycle......serpo (the voice)

Snake also means Shining One or Glistening One ~ Morning Star. To 'strike at' also means to watch over, guard, or protect. It is the same image we have with Jacob 'striking at' the heel of Esau who serves, watches over, or protects Jacob.
David's people set out from Babylon. David is the Morning Star. Jesus rules from his throne and over his kingdom, preserving and restoring it for him. David is your king who will be raised up for you. The king of Babylon, the King of kings is the ruler of this world, wherever man may dwell. Tell me that reads like a historical record.
The world is under mind control. They know the Father they spring from is the Devil (Joh 8:44 NABO). They know Satan (Shining One) is the God of this world (2Co 4:4 NAB) They know the ruler of this world has been condemned (Joh 16:11 NABO). They see it, yet, they cannot perceive it; they hear it, yet, the cannot understand it. (Isa 6:9 NABO)
Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. (Joh 12:31 NABO) to; Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. (Mat 25:34 NABO) Jesus domain is forever peaceful.
The first beast, with seven heads and ten horns is the Red Dragon with seven heads and ten horns. On the day of judgment, when Adam, the Red Dragon, the Christ, wields the fiery sword as the Lawless One, he is given the power and rule, along with great authority of THE Dragon. How else could he judge the world if not with wrath?
Otherwise, you have a standard Christian interpretation of THE Dragon giving himself his own power and authority, much like Jesus being seated at his own right hand.
Yahweh judged the heavens. Christ judges the earth. Yahweh became the Adversary. Adam becomes the Lawless One. The Adversary, the Ancient Serpent of Old, is Transfigured and revealed as Ancient One of Days seated upon a throne on the Mount of Assembly. Adam wields the fiery sword, is Transfigured, and is revealed as the Christ.
The Father is greater than I. Yahweh judged the heavens. Adam had a university of trees to learn from. Further, Adam was not deceived (1Ti 2:14 NAB)
Unless you read the Bible as if it a history book and the crucifixion story is a historical record, there is a cogent message being relayed.
Warning of the impending Day of the Lord, he was swallowed by the Beast out of the Sea and spewed out upon the shore as the Beast out of the Earth, as the sun beat down upon his head and a burning east wind began the Way of the Lord in the Desert.
The way of the Lord in the desert needs to be put into context with the previous passage:
Sacrifice - Indeed, she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.
Resurrection - Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! (Isa 40:2-3 NABO)
Just as it is appointed that human beings die - be judged - appear a second time, so also Christ …will return Heb 9:27-28 …as the (Red) Dragon (Demon Sin) stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. (Rev 12:4 NABO)

Why wouldnt you just state, its Satan in a form of a snake or possessing a snake. then also all snakes got punished with no legs, for this one talking walking snake? does that mean all the other snakes have consciousness too?

In the Quran there is no snake in the creation story. Also there is no original blame where Adam blames his wife for being the one who ate from the tree and deceived him to do so also.
Quran 7:10 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful
7:11 We created you, then We shaped you and then We said to the angels, Prostrate yourselves before Adam, and they all prostrated themselves, except Satan. He was not among those who prostrated themselves
7:12 God asked, What prevented you from prostrating yourself when I commanded you to? He replied, I am better than he is; You created me from fire, while You created him from clay
7:13 God said, Get down from here! This is no place for your arrogance. Get out! You are contemptible
7:14 Satan said, Give me respite until the Day of Resurrection
7:15 and God replied, You are granted respite
7:16 Then Satan said, Because You have put me in the wrong, I will lie in ambush for them on Your straight path
7:17 then I will surely come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful
7:18 He said, Get out of here, despised, and rejected! I shall fill Hell with all of those who follow you
7:19 To Adam He said, You and your wife, dwell in the Garden and eat and drink there from wherever you wish, but do not approach this tree, lest you become wrongdoers
7:20 But Satan tempted them so that he might reveal to them their nakedness which had been hidden from them. He said, Your Lord has forbidden you to approach this tree lest you should become angels or become of the immortals
7:21 and he swore to them, Surely, I am your well-wisher
7:22 Thus he cunningly seduced them. When they tasted the trees fruit, their nakedness became exposed to them and they started covering themselves with the leaves of the garden. Their Lord called out to them, Did I not forbid you to approach that tree, and did I not say to you that Satan was surely your open enemy
7:23 They replied, Our Lord, we have wronged our selves: if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall be among the lost
7:24 He said, Go down from here as enemies to each other. For a while, there is an abode for you and a provision on earth
7:25 There you will live; there you will die; from there you will be raised up again
7:26 O children of Adam! We have sent down to you clothes to cover your nakedness, and to be pleasing to the eye; but the raiment of righteousness is the best. That is one of the signs of God. So that people may take heed
7:27 Children of Adam, do not let Satan seduce you, just as he turned your parents out of the Garden: he deprived them of their garment in order to make them aware of their nakedness. He and his forces watch you from where you do not see them! We have made the devils friends of those who do not believe.

@@Spiritof_76 The creation story in the Quran of Adam and subsequently our existence here on earth makes more sense and doesn’t make God to be a liar who didn’t even know what happened to Adam and Eve after they ate from the tree wondering what they had done. He had to ask Adam what he did. There is also something to be said why two different creation stories in the Hebrew Bible. What you get in the Quran is a more reasonable and consistent account of the event. In the Quran there is life after death and we are all eligible to return to paradise if we just acknowledge our maker and be good while here on earth. There is no way for you to prove this is all fictional. And there is no way for me to prove that we’ll meet our maker and give account for our deeds. 50:20 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of

50:22 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp.

      How Satan is fooled!
Did Satan know Jehovah God was going to resurrect Jesus from the dead!
Even Satan believed " For it is Written" Satan quoted Psalms 91:11-12. Because he thought he knew the future. Lol
Matthew 4:5 Then the Devil took him along into the holy city, and he stationed him on the battlement of the temple 6 and said to him: “If you are a son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written: ‘He will give his angels a command concerning you,’ and, ‘They will carry you on their hands, so that you may not strike your foot against a stone.’
10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
Matthew 27:41 In the same way also, the chief priests with the scribes and the elders began mocking him, saying: 42 “Others he saved; himself he cannot save! He is King of Israel; let him now come down off the torture stake, and we will believe in him. 43 He has put his trust in God; let Him now rescue him if He wants him, for he said, ‘I am God’s Son.’”
46 About the ninth hour, Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying: “Eʹli, Eʹli, laʹma sa·bach·thaʹni?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 47 At hearing this, some of those standing there began to say: “This man is calling E·liʹjah.” 48 And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge and soaked it in sour wine and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. 49 But the rest of them said: “Let him be! Let us see whether E·liʹjah comes to save him.” 50 Again Jesus called out with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
Jehovah God resurrected Jesus as a life giving spirit! Jesus Christ is the last Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

Let's do some word play for fun.
If you checkout the word "satan" you get this:
    "Satan
    contrary; adversary; enemy; accuser"
And if we checkout the word "hail" we get:
"to cheer, salute, or greet; welcome. "
So satan is more or less something like a title. That means a person saying:
"Hail satan" would literally cheer/salute/greet or welcome his/her enemy. So if a person considers himself an enemy to the abrahamic God wouldn't they still salute him by hailing satan since they would consider that God as their enemy?
(Of course its not their intent but I find it amusing if you think about it like this.)

Jesus rules as King for his God and Father! Jesus is The First and Last!
A perfect life for a perfect life.
      Jesus is the last Adam.
      New Living Translation Romans 5:14
Still, everyone died-from the time of Adam to the time of Moses-even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep in death. 21 For since death came through a man, resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. 22 For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each one in his own proper order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence. 24 Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. 25 For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet. 26 And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.

Jesus is the Lamb of The God of Abraham YHVH Yehovah Jehovah
      Mark 16:8
      In the Gospel of Mark.
If the women tell no one then, Who is !
What each Gospel story is about.
      The four living creatures!
      Matthew Who was!
      Mark Who is!
      Luke Who is Coming!
      John The Lamb of YHVH!
The four gospels are associated with the four living creatures: Matthew, the man, Mark the lion, Luke the ox, and John the eagle. John has Jesus dying on a different day. It's the Day of Preparation, not the Day of Preparation for Passover. It was the day they prepared the lambs for sacrifice. While at the same time, Jesus is prepared for sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah
a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle. The man symbolises the prophet; the lion, kingship; the ox, priesthood, and the eagle, fatherhood.

The Hebrew Bible is a technical work. It is difficult to understand even by many Christians. I have challenged McClellan before to show us how good his understanding of the scriptures is by interpreting a given verse. But he didn't. I will list some of those verses again here. Maybe the rest of you who trust his work will offer your interpretation too & help him out. Explain the bold text:
"On every lofty mountain and on every high hill there will be streams running with water on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. *The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days,* on the day the Lord binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted."
    Isaiah 30:25-26.
"And it will come about in the last days
*That the mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills,*
And the peoples will stream to it."
    Micah 4:1.
*“I will make all My mountains a road, And My highways will be raised up.*
    “Behold, these will come from afar;
And lo, these will come from the north and from the west,
And these from the land of Sinim.”
    Isaiah 49:11-12.
If you don't understand any random text of the Bible, it probably means you don't understand any of it well!

Your verses are translated, some more than once, from more than one language. There is no reason to accept that these English translations accurately reflect what was intended at the time of the original writing in the original language. These English verses were also obviously written for a poetic effect which may or may not have captured the original meanings.

@@Spiritof_76 The meaning of the text has faithfully been retained. There are a couple of ways we know this. Some of the text has been repeated in the works of different Prophets. For example, Micah 4:1-2 is also written in Isaiah 2:1-2.
Secondly, there is no thematic contradiction! The passages I listed above are on the topic of restoration. This same theme is discussed in the works of the other Prophets & the meaning perfectly matches even though different words are used!

@@danieldengL4R That's what you have written, and perhaps what you believe. But plenty of authors have written a series about specific characters and remained more consistent than those who put the bible anthology together. The bible is fiction with a few historic places thrown in, but barely any evidence that any of it is true or based on anything that really happened. That's not even including the obvious fairy tales/mythology it contains. And it also doesn't address the mistranslation of the original words.

@@Spiritof_76 Well, there is only one way. All roads lead to God. Just rejecting Him won't help you at all. Here is what the Prophet wrote:
      "Men will come to Him,
And all who were angry at Him will be put to shame."
      Isaiah 45:24.
All men go to God after this life. So God is unavoidable!

@danieldengL4R all roads lead to many gods, not just the christian gods. That's an undeniable fact due to the sheer millions of gods worshipped by men throughout recorded human history. Thus proving your bible wrong.
Your bible and what you have quoted also demonstate the christian gods to be petty, hateful, emotionally unstable and morally depraved. They behave the same as the men that created them in their own petty, spiteful, weak, tantrum throwing image. Choose better gods.
