I grew up with this version. To me it's the TRUE Tetris... My friend had in on an infamous 141 games cartridge. I once tried the Nintendo Tetris on emulator, but felt quickly it lacked the russian charm of this one! Graphics, music and dancers are engraved in my brain...
I have an NES port of this version of Tetris. Funny thing is, because it's 90% bootleg, the "Original" Tetris, (the one with Koberinki in it) is renamed Peca Chu and had a very bad 8bit version of Pikachu in the opt corner of your screen and that's about the only difference between Peca chu and Tetris
I'm with you, man. every time somebody is struggling trying to fit something into a narrow hole or something they usually shout "TETRIS!" and I'm like "oh yeah!" and then they start singing the bloody nintendo theme.. not even one time I've heard somebody singing one of these glorious old-school sovietic gems.
This is my most favorite music in Tetris, maybe even in the whole NES classic games... (1) Troika (2) Loginska (3) Bradinsky (4) Kalinka Also love Korobeiniki/Korobushka in another Tetris game. Hey, I guess I like Russian music since childhood, I just didn't know it... Ah, my childhood memories...I was such a happy kid...
@@maxpanich8634 Ok, I had to search for Korobeiniki first...and realize I am familiar with that one also...is that the opening song to the game? Thank you for letting me know the title!!! ❤😘
@@maxpanich8634 Nope, after hard thinking, I believe I don't have Korobushka/Korobeiniki in my NES player, but on my Gameboy/game watch or something...but I love it all the same and still familiar with the tunes... ❤❤❤
I remember when Tetris came out. I was in elementary school. I mastered it in a few days was faster than anybody. I mean I destroyed everybody. I was fast in fact, that a ton of kids would stay during recess huddled up behind me just so they could watch me play. Ahhhhhhh, the good ol days.
It's funny, I'm sitting here listening to this for a few second and I'm thinking, this is better than almost all the shit I hear on the radio nowadays, no joke.
This song reminds me too much of my daddy who passed away the last year. It always has been a haunting experience to listen to this song, so sad and eerie. My dad loved this game, and i remember playing sometimes with him, but he always loved to select this track.
I remember when I got my first console. It was a NES clone, and this game was on the 101 games cartridge. Now I'm trying to learn this music, which is my favorite, on the recorder haha
Oh god I thing I wanna cry cause this game and this song reminds me play the tetris game with my mom so long ago when I was kid 😭 i miss her again while this quarantine shit can’t go anywhere
This was the only tetris version that was sold in Mexico back on the "Nintendo Family" era. I used to play this with my mom, all my uncles, my cousins, etc. My mom and one of my oldest uncles were really good at this game. It is so incredible how deep a game and a memory could be... this is the reason why I like russian culture and learned russian, just because of the good memories a game with San Basil's cathedral brought when I was younger. is this MK-Ultra? hahaha
I'm also a proud owner of Tengen Tetris n by heavy research on internet I've found it for VirtuaNES as well. Just love it. Anyone wanting it can contact me!
Dang. I used to listen to this when my mother played Tetris in the evenings when I was a child. Felt like it was very late into the night but it was probably only 7:30pm then. My normal sleeping time now is like 11:30pm and even that feels kinda early ;-;

Same here. Only as a grown up on the Internet, I found out the Tetris I grew up playing was not Nintendo's Tetris. I still like this version the best.

The arcade Ataяi Tetяis is the best, which is the one the NES is based off
I like how even though this predates Korobeiniki being _the_ Tetris song, there's still a tiny bit of it in this song. :P
Yeah, that's pretty neat. They may as well call the actual theme Korobeiniki + Troika beause the second part of Korobeiniki is Troika in Tetris..
In fact, the Russian Folk Song Korobeiniki does not include the last

Why does this souns like if you play this and Korobeiniki back to back, it sounds like two halves of the same song?
