You gotta wonder how much Callisto cannibalized the sales of Dead Space remake, launching earlier and proudly proclaiming to be even more hardcore. Most people in the market for a survival horror game probably couldn't afford both, and with Resident Evil 4 right around the corner that probably hurt things even more for Dead Space.

Redacted is a spin off of Callisto protocol funny enough. you gotta give them atleast props for still trying to do stuff with the IP when most studios would've just thrown it in the trash and forgot about it
It's funny that the original Dead Space was made because of the success of Resident Evil 4, and then both the remake do Dead Space and Callisto Protocol lost against the remake of Resident Evil 4 a few months later. There is some cosmic thing behind that.
Callisto protocol feels like a game that was made 20 years ago. Down to the ‘plot twist’ that the big corporations are the bad guys that do shady stuff.
Callisto Protocol is a weird horror game that I still enjoy a lot despite flaws.. It definitely belongs with games like The Order 1886 & Ryse Son of Rome imo.. games that are graphically powerhouses yet gameplay is more simplistic with a shorter run time..
Graphically speaking, THE CALLISTO PROTOCOL was amazing, but everything else was just so undercooked, and the reliance on melee combat was annoying. Oh, and did anyone else get to see the random rat-silhouette glitch late on in the game? There are no rats in the game itself, so it made no sense for there to be a rat silhouette and for it to just shoot diagonally across the screen on a delayed loop.
One thing which is weird is that the only game Glen was attached to was the first Dead Space game and there, he was only the executive producer. Like he wasn’t even the director and his name gets brought up when Dead Space gets mentioned
Really unfortunate, i was gifted this game by an ex because i mentioned being excited for the Dead Space remake lol. Glen Schofield seemed extremely passionate up till the release of the game. I can’t believe they couldn’t make something of their own. Being tied to the PubG universe is just awful from a creative perspective. if it wasn’t for publisher meddling, with a proper budget and time in the oven I genuinely believe the game could’ve shined.

I would have been able to tolerate the super clunky as hell melee combat a lot more if there was interesting story/world to investigate. In the end it felt like "Dead Space: Wish Edition".
