It always amazes me that 20 years on, there are still Spice Girls performances that I have never seen before. I know the girls have said in interviews that they were literally performing or promoting every day for over a year (which contributed to the tension between them and manager Simon Fuller, ultimately leading to his termination as their manager). I guess when you are doing the same choreography every day, you sometimes call it in and go into autopilot for some performances. You see it the most here with Geri.
geri was told to do moves that didn't show her up or upstage her from the others, as it is well documented that she wasn't exactly the best dancer in the band, I feel sorry for her looking back as you can tell that her spark was slowly going
They decided overshadow her, cause she shone much more than the others without so much effort. see the movie and you'll know who is the most shining and around who turns all the grace.
@@Dudenha87 its not a excuse to dance like this she wear more then that in Istanbul and she run and jump and shake .....the shoes its not a excuse she just begin to realise she dont like perform even here she act like a posh wannabe ....
I suggest watching their Live Show at Wembley in 98, the dancing was fantastic. "Wembley 98" is their best show ever, everything was flawless. As a four piece they did more complex moves and actual choreo at Wembley 98 and Earls Court 99.
The choreography was fairly simple but very effective, it was also meant be inclusive and easy to be picked up by fans. Plus in concert they always sang live whilst still being able to do the choreography, so in my opinion it was a good decision
@@ryleo85 I agree. It was a bit like the pop group Steps. It was paint by numbers choreography so everyone could join in. Also, Geri needed simpler routines 😁 Stop is stand out choreography-wise.
@@ryleo85I think that's what people miss, pop bands during this time, it was simple so EVERYONE could attempt it. Disabled people could adapt it for themselves. Particularly with the Spice Girls who were all about everyone being welcome. I love Kpop to but theirs a difference which doesn't mean this is lesser than the complicity of kpop routines, the intention was different
@@noecases5940 The entire song honestly. Geri couldn't even half-ass the choreo this time. She really isn't a strong performer, which is why the 1st tour was so stressful for her. People were commenting on her lack of performance skills.

Geri could’ve had cramps that day, it could’ve been anything besides a supposed lack of talent or passion. She’s a great entertainer.

As much as I love the Spice Girls, the one thing that they lacked was good choreography. They basically just stood in one place and did various poses.
They did significantly more choreo once Geri left (look at their Christmas in Spice World concert and any performance of Holler).
