I remember a time 30 years ago i found myself single . Things was going on in my life that had tore me apart . Dont need to go into detail . But , i got back out an started trying to pick up peaces an try to move on . I found myself asking just about every woman in a bar Sean to get out on a dace floor . only to get turned down 100% . It was disheartening. It jarred me inside because i was at the time in the best kind of shape . Something snapped in me and i told myself u know what? To hell with this so i stopped trying to attract . i would just walk by an not give any attention towards these women all around. An started focusing on myself . Id grab a pool stick an shoot , listen to the band , have a few drinks, then leave. Before i knew it? I started to see all kinds of attention coming my way. It was like the lesss of a shit i gave? The more i got noticed . My wallet filled up with numbers an i started having a blast. My point here is, when u dont look , u dont try, an u dont try to impress? Thats when a man ends up impressing the most . Ya dont need no stupid pick up lines . All ya gotta do is relax when u speak , an like the corny things u hear?, Be urself . It really does cause ya to walk up right because u dont gotta prove shit to noone of the fact of something u already know. That ur a man.
Thank you for sharing your story! It's a perfect example of how focusing on yourself and not seeking validation from others can naturally attract the right energy. As you experienced, when you stop trying too hard, you allow things to flow, and often, that’s when life surprises you. Just being confident in who you are, without the need for approval, is powerful. Your experience aligns with the Stoic principle of focusing on what you can control-your own actions and mindset-rather than the reactions of others. Keep being true to yourself!
