No, there were 4-strokes in there. They produced them to race starting in 99, and I think Doug Henry won the 1998 250 national championship on a pre-production bike. They made the 4-stroke a little faster, (per environmental groups, not free market), than the 250 2-stroke could be made to force them out, (or allowed to be made), and it took 8 years, until about 2006 for the starting line to be all 4-strokes,--with RC and James the last to sell out, (and still winning on the 2-strokes). We now make and ride with tyrannical governments want us to make and ride,---no matter what it costs. Oh yea---it is called communism. Taking over our industries.
1:47:55 Art Eckman, (the announcer), was mistaken. Hannah did win at this track in the nationals on a Suzuki, (1986-7). Johnny O'Mara ran out of gas on the last lap while leading the second moto. Hannah won with a 2-1.
That was not a "National", it was an (FIM) USGP with Euros such as Jackie Vimond the 1986 Euro champ that year. O'mara ran out of gas becauase Bob Hannah took it easy the 1st moto so the O'mara guy's gave him less gas.
Ryno sounds so depressed. If I were out on the track with Hughes I'd put him in the cheap seats! My favorite riders were always Ryno and whoever he was fighting.
This was the year when the drug companies got government to make opioids legal for prescription for pain killers. Roncada then got injured, got hooked on them, and they almost took his life.

Where is this old start stretch with the hill in it compared to the new flat one? Or did they just level out the old one
