I just learned that shadow Gligar can get a breakpoint on Medicham that allows it to win all evens. Might be worth looking into even though it needs a lot of attack
I took a look at your note on good stat product shadow gligar beating lanturn in all even shields, but I simmed the max stat product shadow Gligar versus my shadow Gligar candidate (rank 452, only decent on i have) and the max stat product lost the 0s and the 2s against both default and max stat product spark Lanturn, whereas my rank 452 beat both in all even shields. There might be a limit to the stat product you want because there's a wing attack breakpoint that guarantees all even shields. My Shadow gligar can get the breakpoint unless the Lanturn is more Defense weighted (0/15/10 or higher). With the Medi breakpoint, I think there's a lot of merit in getting a higher attack gligar. Edit: The medi breakpoint is only guaranteed on some shadow gligars ranked 1770 or higher. Oof Edit 2: I think a shadow gligar with an attack stat of 110.2 or higher is preferred if you want to guarantee lanturn in all even shields. It covers 0/15/10 lanturn which is the highest defense weight for a high stat product lanturn.
I've been simming against default Lanturn which I guess is a mistake. Looks like you actually need something like 11 attack Gligar to secure the breakpoint on Lanturn and at that point you might aswell go for the breakpoint on Medicham aswell. It does require a lot of attack, but on further inspection it does seem like the way to go. Thanks for your insight
@HumancatcherBug its a pretty big leap between the breakpoint for lanturn and the breakpoint for medi. I'd sim the shadow gligars in case they lose any other matchups if you find any more, of course.
@@HumancatcherBug actually I think there‘s no way to hit the #1 Medi breakpoint (112.4) while also having enough bulk left to overcome spark lanturn in the 2s. But there‘s also a licki breakpoint that enables to win the 1s. So looking for an mediocre attack weight might be the best bet since most medi will swap out either way eventually. 110.2 ATK really looks best in my eyes too.
@@bikju_de I see you've been looking at those AXN IV Lanturn. Makes sense. With 110.2 you still don't secure the 2's vs Lanturn straight Dig because Lanturn with a minimum of 8 attack still barely takes you out. Most people are using better Lanturn though. You also need a bait vs Licki to win 1's. The 9/12/15 can beat Licki in 0's aswell
@@gennarogrimaldi5325 I've been looking more into it. Apparently you want even higher attack than mine to secure a breakpoint on Medicham and Lanturn. 15 attack looks to be the way
HCB I just wanted to thank you for your content and analysis! I hit Expert last season which was my first time getting past Ace and it's thanks to you and other content creators. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep learning!
Flying and fire in the back, the opposites are Electric and Water. So seeing suddenly many Lanturns in the front is easy algorithm. Putting the Gligar doesn't change much as Ground and Flying triggers the same things.
I managed to barely solo S. Gligar today with my S. Mamoswine, and it looked pretty good in the sims (6/6/13). It mainly had a much better matchup against Spark Lanturn and usually wins the mirror, so I'll probably build it when I finally get some Gligar candies. I have a Gliscor that I still need to double move for the GL, but I only have like 70 candies, so I'm not sure if I should finish building my Gliscor or just build my S. Gligar first. Also, I just noticed that u have the same Lanturn ivs as I have 👀. 4:20 that always happens to me with either Basti or Binky 😭
I think Gligar is the top priority right now of those two. I have exactly 0 candy for it aswell. A good IV one beats Spark Lanturn in all evens, which is nice, but you can also consider a very attack weighted one to get a breakpoint on Medicham. Basti and Binky are just 😭
@@HumancatcherBug Not sure I agree about a Good IV one beating Lanturn in all evens, there's a Wing Attack breakpoint Gligar needs to hit to guarantee the 0 and 2 shield.
Yo! I'm also utilising Water gun Lanturn aswell, but with different team. Your team looks fun and i wanna try it out, but I don't have Gligar and Zard in shadow forms. Can regular ones work aswell?
Flipping both Medicham movesets and Licki in the 1s has me convinced high attack Gligar is the way to go. But I’m not a pvpoke expert so maybe I’m missing something.
Since ItsAxn's world championship, I got a specific IV Medichamp as well that would beat other Medichamps. Have to make a team soon with it in the lead. Will be fun to play.
I went up 3 ranks with shiny shadow venomoth, heliolisk and alolan marowak(hex). Used this team from day one of this season and now sitting at rank 15 already with a team nobody would dare to use😅
I've got a 15/9/15 and it seems similar to yours in the sims, I don't know if I'll find a better one, but it still has frustration anyway so maybe I'll wait on it
Availability problems. I only have 1 without frustration. The good stat product one can beat Spark Lanturn in all evens without baits, but a very attack weighted (more than mine) can beat Medi in all evens
When a pokemon shields a move the move still does exactly 1 hp of damage. That lanturn had only 1 hp left so shielding the move knocked it out. Just GBL mechanics, not sure why it's that way.
Niantic haven't implemented a way for an attack to do no damage, so even when a charge move is shielded it still does exactly 1 damage which can result in a k.o

do you know what attack is needed?

Haha. I do like winning NGL 😄
I learned a lot watching this. What a masterclass.
I have ran a similar team with spark lanturn and then substituting sableye for one of the back line Pokémon

Better to build a gligar over gliscor with the current meta??
I think so yes. The moves are similar, but Gligar is a lot more bulky
Great battles as usual :)

As long as I saw the shadow Charizard in the line up, I know it would be a Charizard’s show after all😂
I can't help myself 😂 which is also why I have included Gligar on the next team to showcase it more
I have a rank 8 normal gligar and a 77% shadow Gligar (rank 800ish?), which one would you build? BTW Love your vids!
I think the shadow looks better in general. The normal has its niches, but I would go shadow
Great content as always but I’m a little disappointed you have surf and thunderbolt in the wrong spots on your lanturn😂
Having them this way around I didn't need to move the water symbol from where it was last video with Mantine. It was too easy 😅

I only had a 15,12,15 shadow gligar which I thought is of bad iv but 3 days after powering it up I came to know it's actually a perfect one ✌️

I am using this team since last few days and had blast with it alone with a 17 game win streak
17? Awesome!
Bro this was to funny. Used almost the same team but Frosslass instead of gligar and spark lanturn n normal charizard but worked very well for me.
I've been using it with Froslass aswell. Love it
Running this team w shadow a-slash instead of zard. Both versions are def week to swampert though
That's one of the reasons I'm using WG Lanturn. Gligar does also have a surprising amount of play against it, especially if they are not both shadow
Come back please
