The number one reason why people i know leave the church is the doctrine of eternal punishment.

Well Andrew doesn't believe in that doctrine, so he doesn't see it as a road block.

Sadly many western Christians still do and its tightly knit to devout Christianity including Roman Catholicism

Yeah, it's not eternal per say. It's however long it takes for your spirit to combust in the Lake of Fire.

Great conversation! Andrew really is exceptional for his generation, and a very cool and clever chap.
    Thank you.

Is this the same Andrew Hronich who is a staunch universalist at Princeton seminary and thinks apologetics is cringey? What a change.

I think he got his bachelor's degree at Liberty before that.

I cant disagree more. I am RC, but we Christians have to accept, that there are good reasons for being an agnostic or an atheist. One cant gloss over all the things atheists like Harris, Dawkins, Feuerbach or Nietzsche pronounce. To just say young people deny him due to wanting to live sinful is a shane and falls short. It is a huge mess and we are better of accepting the fact. We got to be intellectually honest. Sorry.
