As an Aboriginal man, I really appreciate the fact that David Bowie loved everyone. I've always loved his music, this just makes me love his heart. Rest In Love & Peace David Bowie.

It is a memory of the US festival when the sun was setting and friendly fires were lit all around the crater. David Bowie began performing this song and people including myself began dancing. I heard somewhere he had arrived from being in Australia, probably true.

David Bowie was one of the biggest Humanitarian people you’d ever known, the reason he featured the Aboriginal people in this video was to shine light on them because their Lives Mattered too. David Bowie was against unfair racist mistreatment of fellow human beings. I remember him making MTV to show more black entertainers, and if they didn’t he’d boycott himself. As a black American man I love and respected what David Bowie stood for, may he rest in heaven.

Not much has changed for Aboriginal Australians. There are more in the workforce but they still have less opportunities than most Australians. Still, small steps I suppose. These days it's not just Aboriginal people, there is a lot of ageism and sexism. More male CEOS than female, more male representation than female in politics, that sort of thing. Australia is like a smaller version of America in some ways. This video was made only 16 years after they were granted citizenship by the way. Good old David, 6 years gone next Monday, R.I.P. great man.

This video was a plea for the rights of Aboriginal Australians. The red shoes represent the Western way of life that the girl wears for a while, then rejects and returns to her own culture. Great music video, amazing song with Stevie Ray Vaughan on lead guitar. ❤

Ty for that info.. I assumed David had a motive ! That's why I have utmost respect and love the genius! I'm Big Beatle fan too. They always made love n freedom the theme in their writings. As w David also. Under Pressure n Heroes great signs of the times. Ppl in US don't realize what it means to be able to walk and talk freely on our streets. I have true admiration for the men n women who served our country. Thanx to them we are FREE!!!
I believe in life after death n I'm positive there's a huge jam session going on. What a beautiful amazing band I have to look forward to one day. Better make sure I have something to wear ! HA...☮️❤️🎸🎹🎺🥁😀

I don't use the phrase "I was humbled" lightly or as hyperbole. We were RIDICULOUSLY front & center (maybe 3 rows back? No more than 5), & just **seeing** him play was every bit (if not more, to my uninitiated ears) as mesmerizing as hearing him play. He was 1 of a kind, fersure. I don't think I said 3 words after the show, I just looked like ----> 😳 lol...& then I didn't shut up about it until, well ever, apparently. 😁 RIP King

    Lyrics
    Let's dance
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
    Let's dance
To the song they're playin' on the radio
    Let's sway
While color lights up your face
    Let's sway
Sway through the crowd to an empty space
    If you say run
    I'll run with you
    And if you say hide
    We'll hide
    Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall into my arms
    And tremble like a flower
    Let's dance
    Let's dance
For fear your grace should fall
    Let's dance
    For fear tonight is all
    Let's sway
You could look into my eyes
    Let's sway
Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight
    And if you say run
    I'll run with you
    And if you say hide
    We'll hide
    Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall into my arms
    And tremble like a flower
    Let's dance
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
    Let's sway
Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight
    Let's dance
    Let's dance
    Let's dance, dance, dance

No need to be ashamed, better late than never. I'm discovering artists all the time, many before I was born that are excellent, Django Reinhardt one such artist. A mate of mine got me onto Jimmy Reed back in the 90s'. I finally caught on to the 'Band' in the late 90's after seeing and being floored watching the 'Last Waltz' concert DVD. It goes on like that. One good thing about music being so crappy today is that you can seek out great music from decades long gone.

    • @dariorodriguezdeamerica
      @dariorodriguezdeamerica ปีที่แล้ว

That is because the industry sunk in the 70s and this was the tip of the boat right before it sinks to the bottom, the opposite of what you mean, I feel you though, when standars do go down we tend to cling to the lesser bad things, sad.

    • @omarko9708
      @omarko9708 ปีที่แล้ว

No ! ?The music industry in the 70s did not sink as it generated greater than life songs you don't see in the 80s such as: Me & Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin; Don't Pull Your Love by Hamilton, Joe Frank, & Reynolds; Nights are Forever by England Dan and John Ford Coley; American Woman by The Guess Who; Don't Leave Me This Way by Thelma Hopkins; When I Need You by Leo Sayer; Hotel California by The Eagles; Me & Mrs Jones by Billy Paul; Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks; Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas, and we don't forget amazing music by The Bee Gees, The Carpenters, Chicago, Elton John, and more ... Therefore, how can you say the 70s music sunk ??!! You gotta be kidding !

    • @dariorodriguezdeamerica
      @dariorodriguezdeamerica ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for the list, I''ll check it out!
I invite you to read again what I wrote, you'll find yourself agreeing. I will say that by sunk I mean the past tense of sinking, as in the last remnant of the good stuff, therefore, the tip of the boat in the 80s means it never came back after that, so, fully sunk in the 80s. See? Nuance and moderation, not like saying it died, also the 70s ended in 79, december, and what you're mentioning is for sure before 12/79. But don't take my word for it, some people say it really died with the 60s and I agree with that, because, you see, for me commercial music is too tampered with, I only respect street and never published performers, the rest has too much pose and politics involved and you never know who's who and who wrote that, which is a shame, too many ghost writers, producers and purchase of rights and name signature of the works in the hand of a famous artist who created nothing. I can only go as far as to take their work as free entertainment. Anything else is a diservice to myself, and the human race, a petty division between me and everybody else. For what? A shitty song? A political statement made by a millionaire about poverty? Pff, not my thing. Serioulsy, read what I wrote and get the right inflexion. Although I'm glad you got so agravated since your list might have great stuff I dont know or cant find by name, thanks for that 😉, didn't mean anything but to state a subjective fact based on objective factual stuff.
Black people made the basis for all the music I love and inspired me, but the industry gave them reach through anybody else, I hold no grudge, just the facts and appreciation where is truly due@@omarko9708

This is one of David's greatest tracks. Enigmatic, illusive & captivating.A master at work.

Nah, he's just saying "I am so high that if we do it I'll have a heart attack, lets dance so I can lower my blood pressure, then you know... do that". Pretty simple stuff
