    Excellent picks!! Edradour and Clynelish probably my favorites on the list. Edradour -Ballechin 8 (a blend of 1 cask of Edradour and 3 casks of Ballechin) is amazing. And the Caledonia too. Glengoine the only one of this list still to try for me. And one suggestion will be Oban. Delicious stuff. Greetings from Argentina!

    Well done. This time you made your research! My favorite is Edradour, especially the heavily peated Ballechin. Cheers mate.

      Yes! Should have mentioned the Ballechin. Great dram.

    Nice selection. Love the edradour 10. Love the freudian slip at the end. 😂

    Glenmorangie Signet is delicious. Hints of chocolate and citrus. Very good combo.

    Edradour and clynlish are my favorite on this list , I do enjoy Loch Lomond as well for it affordability.

    Edradour is a hard whisky to get into imo , especially those super heavily sherried cask Strength releases. It is not like a standard release of sherried whisky, very complex and not super friendly. I do like it a lot this because it has a lot of nuances.

      It's definitely not for the beginner, but once you get there you realise just how amazing it is. You have great taste. My favourite distillery. Cheers.

    Excellent list. I would add one that is hard to get but worth the hunt. Ben Nevis. Also am very fond of AnCoc too. Cheers

    The due diligence is impressive; called the distillery to check if highland 👊

    Easy mistake with Glendronach! There are few that I have to think about too. While I think there are distinct differences in style between Highland and Speyside there's enough overlap / exceptions between the two that I agree that it's kind of irrelevant! Nice to see love for Balblair. I've long thought of it as one of the unsung heroes of whisky. Even more underrated though, and also on your list: Loch Lomond! Every time I try another one of their expressions I'm pleasantly surprised and it's usually very affordable too. Great picks.

    Good list but no Glencadam???🤔. Also Edradour do a peated version ( ballechin) which I like especially the sherry cask matured versions. The Ardbeg was a joke, right 😀. As always an enjoyable video, cheers.

      There was Glencadam on my list tbh but since I've only had a handful I wasn't feeling confident.

    I believe that Glendronach is inside the Speyside boundary, they just choose to brand their whisky as Highland. Kinda like The Macallan and Glenfarclas.

    Great review and also hilarious finale. As a subscriber I fully support an Islay winning every region’s top whisky. Haha.

      My only question is why you said top 10 whiskys but made it about the distilleries not specific whiskys? This would be better labeled Top 10 Highland Distilleries, if you see what I mean.

    • @MaltActivist
      @MaltActivist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'd be right but I'll be brutally honest --- the TH-cam algorithm favors the word whiskies over distilleries if you know what I mean. Better traction but with the same knowledge.

    As always nice list but you are deliberately naughty 😜 Ardbeg becomes a Highland. Need to try a few and I think my wife is going to throw me out of the house for my obsession and you are partly to be blamed. As always cheers 🍻

      @@MaltActivist right, but along with eg, talisker, jura, the SWA class these as highland distilleries. The islands (excluding Islay of course) are not an official whisky reign, but imho its about time the SWA changed this. Cheers.

    C'mon man, aren't whisky regions cliche'?
    I'm not actually driving from one to the next so , it's nice to know the climate but otherwise each distillery can build it's reputation on its own spirit. I'm trying to pay attention so I'll remember the details.
    I think you should do a list on conglomerate distilleries base on corporate multinational ownership and master blender influence.

    • @MaltActivist
      @MaltActivist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      hahaha! That would be quite a list now wouldn't it? And yes, I agree, regions are a cliche but people seem to still want to search for them.

    Bro why don't you deal with tea, maybe because of your origin you are better at it. Ardbeg the best distillery in the Highlands, it comes from the Islay where they have done so much to have a profile known all over the world and you only say Highland?

      Your racist connotation aside I'd like to understand what you mean. You think I should have mentioned Ardbeg in my list of Highland whiskies? Or did you entirely miss the point of this video?
