Technically speaking about the teaching or singing lessons in the Philippines? There are probably few schools who teaches proper vocal techniques, mosts of the singers you've reacted to was born with a natural raw talent in singing.

not to put down my own country, but very very few artists get formal musical training here. Only the privileged can afford to go to vocal coaches. Even most successful singers here are self taught. but they do get some training when they get a little popular and are able to spare money for it . that's when they start formal musical training. I mean the great majority of them. There could be a number or very good vocal coaches, but i don't think that there are that many schools for music.

As for your question at the end part of your video, Filipinos are very fond of karaoke. Not much of us go to school to study music but most of us learn how to sing or become good at singing because of karaoke. Almost all parties are not complete without karaoke.
I would say we love to hit the scores on the karaoke. The closer you are to 100 the better you get and practice more and more on karaoke. Plus we love to.imitate great singers and they way they sing so that became.part.of.the practice

I moved to the Philippines in the late 90’s and i went to highschool there i was about 15yrs old. It was sort of a foreigner of sorts though i am filipino. Something that was interesting to me was that they have classes starting in elementary school that teaches musical notes and how to read music and every year there are school competitions. Singing classical and modern music were categories in these school competitions as well as musical performances that everyone had to participate in whether it was singing ir dancing. So i feel that Filipinos no matter if they were in public or private school, already have exposure to music at a young age. Also in elementary school all the way up to college the school curriculum includes 2 language classes first being pilipino and the other english. The whole country knows how to speak english thats why you hear a mix of english in our language and also helps with the pronunciation of english songs. Hope this gives you some insight from a foreigner perspective.
ohh, my sweet idol singer was reacted by my favorite coach reactor. filipinos love singing because it relieved stress, even just doing laundry,cooking washing dishes while imagining that we are a superstar while hitting the notes even karaoke or videoke in our places such as fiestas,bday's or other events. and we filipinos are just passionate in everything that we do specially when it comes to singing, because singing is the free thing for us to let out our dreams come true even if its just in our imagination. Vocal coaches and singing schools are really not a thing in the Philippines. Filipinos just love music particularly singing, Karaoke is something that really helps Filipinos practice and is a way of life. 😂 Aspiring Singers must always step up and be unique to get into the limelight. Singing competitions are really tough in the Philippines. Our innate love and passion for singing is imbedded in our DNA. Singing is the cheapest form of pastime thus karaoke and because of Karaoke and love for singing, we develop the EAR for singing. Its funny because westerners comments we are so good it sounds autotuned because we developed how to imitate sounds from what we hear not knowing the songs are "manufactured" and went through post productions. That's why we can get by without autotune. Perfect examples are Katrina Velarde and Marcelito... They taugh themselves how to sing by mimicking the artists they listen to.

This is from my own experience. My parents didn't enroll me in a voice class and theatre because its too expensive here in the Philippines only the mid-class and wealthy people can afford, but they are very supportive when i join the choir. The closest Voice lesson most of us can have is thru choir in school n church wherein the mentors are voice coaches plus its free hehe and sometimes i practice in kareoke Hahahaha. I am a choir member for 6yrs in our church n school. Also in school we have this subject called M.A.P.E.H (Music, Arts, Physical Education, & health) wherein our teachers in music are mostly voice coach & some are not. (mapeh is taught to us from grade school to high school)
Vocal coaching is based on often one can use the karaoke machine. Also, in the Philippines there are plenty of local town singing competitions. For what I’ve seen, only when singers get to TV competitions is when they start receiving vocal coaching. Often times, many get coaching from family members. There are plenty of videos where Filipinos sing during class, at fast food spots, public transportation, etc. Going by my experience with my family and relatives.... family parties will always have a karaoke machine ready to go. It doesn’t matter if people can’t sing. They’ll step up and have a go at it. Especially the kids, they HAVE to go up and sing. 😂😈 .....
Most of our singers came from a singing competition where most of them cannot afford to go to music school to learn the technicality and musical techniques before they become a known singer..in every barrios we had a small competition in celebration to our feast day of our patron..We learn our singing techniques through the kareoke machine bcoz every filipinos has it..we do it past time or parties or any time we want to..

Yazik. We can sing with or without vocal teachers, we can sing because we usually using karaoke to inhance our voice, we Filipino's are into music. We love to sing. That's why every occasions and etc, karaoke is always present.
The greatest teacher in the Philippines is practice. In every nook and cranny of every little town there is a singing contest. It’s a ticket not to get hungry. Winnings feed the family. The Filipino audience is also a very discriminating critic. If you sing without feelings, range and ability, you are shot down. Most every household has karaoke. So there’s lot of practice. Filipinos love to sing and express themselves through song, so you can tell the dynamics is great.
As a foreigner living here in Philippines, I think the most important thing is they love music and dancing. And music is part of their life.. even when doing office work, they can sing well.

The moment I hear this song, I down loaded it immediately and used it every night as my lullaby whenever I can't sleep.. but like 3x😁 With regards to your question about music teachers in the Philippines, l will compare it to a rain drops in the dessert😜 Music is a subject which thought like 1hr in a month at lower grade level and sometimes not, coz we don't have that much of qualified music teachers. To have voice lessons is a privilege in our country, either your parents can afford it or they are just supportive. I had a real music teacher (because she has a bachelor's degree in Music from University of the Philippines) when I was already in college only 2x a week and only for 1 term or 3/4 mos. Though I am a Science Major, I also taught music as my minor subject in the school where I got hired to, and with my little knowledge I had in college, I really wasn't able to teach music in it's true sense. So I strongly believe that singing in my country is just a matter of our love to music, genetics and kareoke.

Just an FYI: Many singers in the Philippines have no formal voice training. The Philippines have singing competition for every small village and that's where they get voice training by joining this competition. And most of the poor families in my country use singing competition to leverage their status in life. They make a living out of singing at a very young age like as early as 3 yrs old.Imagine we have 7,100 plus Islands so to join a small and a national TV competition like this would really give you vocal training.And take note that is every year if not every month.

For me their professional teacher is their dreams, experiences in life and their passion. A lot of great Filipino singers started singing in order to help their family.
Filipino here, and my take on the local talents are that they craft their own voices without undergoing training or singing education. We just love to sing.
Our second language is English. From elementary to highschool we do have english subject even up to college. That's why even kids here knows how to speak english very well.

Nice reaction bro but Yazik Maybe we have special school for music here in our country but most of our singers today did not come from any of that schools but being a good singer I guess of us Pilipinos, is only because of our love for music. Music basically is big part of our culture, in everything we do we love doing things while listening to a music and by hearing and hearing the song again again We learn how the singer sangs the song and even the way they pronounce each word of the songs and eventually we kinda mimic the way the whole is being sang. We relates our everyday living to the songs and becomes the songs of our lives thats why we put alot of emotions to every song that we sang. Yes bro indeed and I hope you could also visit our country, And you know in our country aside from having a singing competition from our big TV networks that is being showed nationwide for professional singers we also have different amature singing competition from every provinces and cities whenever we are celebrates our Fiestas. Almost every given month different provinces and cities celebrates thier own Fiestas, bribute to thier respected patron saint, as we where being colonies by Spanish for more than 400 years, that's why Spanish have a great influence in our culture now Adays, especially our Christian faith values and traditions. And singing competition is one of the highlights of the said event and if I were to compare the amature singers competing in amature singing contest from the professional singers competing in professional singing competition, I could say that they have the same talent, technics and abilities when it comes to performing on stage, but only few are given the chance to pursued there singing career, and one more thing joining and competing in a amature singing competition start as early as 5-6 to 7years old, that's without a formal training in singing just like our famous singer now Adays like REGINE VELASQUEZ, SARAH JERONIMO, CHARISE PINGPINGCO, all of them started joining a amature singing competition in a early age. That's why as they grow older they developed thier skills and technics by themselves without the help of a professional singing traineors Hehehehehe sorry I talk too much,

Pilipinos just love listening to music and to sing...singing while cooking.. taking bath...doing laundry..and singing in karaoke... Mostly having a tip of voice to sing when still young and enjoyed singing they grow and enhance their voice...and if they love singing they compete in contest... Win or lose... Just keep growing.. step by step till they enhance slowly while still young...
Many already said that most Filipinos knows how to sing through Karaoke. I would like to add that these singers has raw talent at first. A voice you know that holds so much potential but not trained. Of if trained, only by parents but only to develop half of its potentials. From here i would like to give credits for those Vocal coaches that trained them AFTER they win a competition and/or become viral/famous. They were the ones who maximize their singing. Most vocal coaches here pick up singers, train them without fees. And when the singers got famous, they will be the one to give back later on.
to be honest i dont know the runs, riffs, vibrato, malisma, and others but i know how to sing by just listening music that i love until i watched the different reaction video now i understand what is runs, what is vibrato but not totally all coz..sometimes i cant relate 😁😁 im not good to sing but i can coz ive learn it in our small church .. i want to improve it but i dont have enough money to join any voice lesson.. by the way im from Philippines love your reactions 😊👍

Most of the singers actually doesn't have formal training.. It's just that singing contests are always done here.. Even in very small towns.. During festivals and small occasions.. Also we love karaoke.. Actually karaoke was invented by a filipino.. He just sold the rights to the japanese.. And we don't have much teachers or institutions here for vocal coaching.. Only cities have and only rich people can afford.. It's also our culture maybe that we just love music.. And the competitiveness and our hunger to be recognised all over the world.. 😊
Voice teachers arent very common in the Philippines, most filipinos,in general, don’t have formal training in singing, they just start singing at a very young age, it has also been a way of life or part of their culture. Fiestas/ religious festivals or parties will always have some sort of singing contest or karaoke session as part of the celebration.And They rely on using the videoke or karaoke system for training. Some tourists/ foreigners are puzzled and asking.. your vocal chords are made of what substance, or maybe it must be the water in the philippines or maybe because of the food they eat...adobo( pork stew). I think the key here is... start singing at a very young age, so that the vocal chords will develop early too!
Not much schools. Singers learn to mimic established artists. Almost all homes have karaoke microphones. Family gatherings and celebrations involve singing. Karaoke bars and music lounges are de rigeur in the country. Religious singing and choirs in school lend more to the culture of singing. Tribal music is also based nearly to Western music's pentatonic scale. So when the Spanish brought over Latin music and religious music Filipinos adapted. Then came the Americans with jazz and modern music which freed the inhibited Filipinos with more expressive music. One trait of Filipino singers is the concept of "plakado" or sounding like the artist on the record. Mimicking the style and sound of artists can be seen in Filipino singers hence the flexibility in their sound and tone. Singing skill is bragging rights in our country. Plus bad singers get weeded out at karaoke bars. Usually getting shot or knifed when they sing bad in ridiculously simple songs like "My Way". This assures only the good singing genes get passed on.

Most of our good singers did not go to a voice lesson or school. They are naturally born singers. The rest of us learn from kareoke.

Most of our singers came from a singing competition where most of them cannot afford to go to music school to learn the technicality and musical techniques before they become a known singer..in every barrios we had a small competition in celebration to our feast day of our patron..We learn our singing techniques through the kareoke machine bcoz every filipinos has it..we do it past time or parties or any time we want to..

there are only few school here in the Philippines for vocal lessons. it's not every where. i think Filipinos are just gifted with a beautiful voice. its an inborn talent

The greatest teacher in the Philippines is practice. In every nook and cranny of every little town there is a singing contest. It’s a ticket not to get hungry. Winnings feed the family. The Filipino audience is also a very discriminating critic. If you sing without feelings, range and ability, you are shot down. Most every household has karaoke. So there’s lot of practice. Filipinos love to sing and express themselves through song, so you can tell the dynamics is great.

With regards to your question about music teachers in the Philippines, l will compare it to a rain drops in the dessert😜 Music is a subject which thought like 1hr in a month at lower grade level and sometimes not, coz we don't have that much of qualified music teachers. To have voice lessons is a privilege in our country, either your parents can afford it or they are just supportive. I had a real music teacher (because she has a bachelor's degree in Music from University of the Philippines) when I was already in college only 2x a week and only for 1 term or 3/4 mos. Though I am a Science Major, I also taught music as my minor subject in the school where I got hired to, and with my little knowledge I had in college, I really wasn't able to teach music in it's true sense. So I strongly believe that singing in my country is just a matter of our love to music, genetics and kareoke.
Michael's voice hs alot of charm, u cant b faulted for falling in love wth hs smooth, romantic voice. And i like hs selection of songs whch suits hs voice n style of singing. Hs latest i heard " no one else comes close " is so beautiful.

Just an FYI: Many singers in the Philippines have no formal voice training. The Philippines have singing competition for every small village and that's where they get voice training by joining this competition. And most of the poor families in my country use singing competition to leverage their status in life. They make a living out of singing at a very young age like as early as 3 yrs old.Imagine we have 7,100 plus Islands so to join a small and a national TV competition like this would really give you vocal training.And take note that is every year if not every month.

Maybe we have special school for music here in our country but most of our singers today did not come from any of that schools but being a good singer I guess of us Pilipinos, is only because of our love for music. Music basically is big part of our culture, in everything we do we love doing things while listening to a music and by hearing and hearing the song again again
We learn how the singer sangs the song and even the way they pronounce each word of the songs and eventually we kinda mimic the way the whole is being sang.
We relates our everyday living to the songs and becomes the songs of our lives thats why we put alot of emotions to every song that we sang.

And you know in our country aside from having a singing competition from our big TV networks that is being showed nationwide for professional singers we also have different amature singing competition from every provinces and cities whenever we are celebrates our Fiestas. Almost every given month different provinces and cities celebrates thier own Fiestas, bribute to thier respected patron saint, as we where being colonies by Spanish for more than 400 years, that's why Spanish have a great influence in our culture now Adays, especially our Christian faith values and traditions. And singing competition is one of the highlights of the said event and if I were to compare the amature singers competing in amature singing contest from the professional singers competing in professional singing competition, I could say that they have the same talent, technics and abilities when it comes to performing on stage, but only few are given the chance to pursued there singing career, and one more thing joining and competing in a amature singing competition start as early as 5-6 to 7years old, that's without a formal training in singing just like our famous singer now Adays like REGINE VELASQUEZ, SARAH JERONIMO, CHARISE PINGPINGCO, all of them started joining a amature singing competition in a early age. That's why as they grow older they developed thier skills and technics by themselves without the help of a professional singing traineors

Many already said that most Filipinos knows how to sing through Karaoke. I would like to add that these singers has raw talent at first. A voice you know that holds so much potential but not trained. Of if trained, only by parents but only to develop half of its potentials.
From here i would like to give credits for those Vocal coaches that trained them AFTER they win a competition and/or become viral/famous. They were the ones who maximize their singing.
Most vocal coaches here pick up singers, train them without fees. And when the singers got famous, they will be the one to give back later on.

Most of the singers actually doesn't have formal training.. It's just that singing contests are always done here.. Even in very small towns.. During festivals and small occasions.. Also we love karaoke.. Actually karaoke was invented by a filipino.. He just sold the rights to the japanese.. And we don't have much teachers or institutions here for vocal coaching.. Only cities have and only rich people can afford.. It's also our culture maybe that we just love music.. And the competitiveness and our hunger to be recognised all over the world.. 😊
Voice teachers arent very common in the Philippines, most filipinos,in general, don’t have formal training in singing, they just start singing at a very young age, it has also been a way of life or part of their culture. Fiestas/ religious festivals or parties will always have some sort of singing contest or karaoke session as part of the celebration.And They rely on using the videoke or karaoke system for training. Some tourists/ foreigners are puzzled and asking.. your vocal chords are made of what substance, or maybe it must be the water in the philippines or maybe because of the food they eat...adobo( pork stew). I think the key here is... start singing at a very young age, so that the vocal chords will develop early too!

Not much schools. Singers learn to mimic established artists. Almost all homes have karaoke microphones. Family gatherings and celebrations involve singing. Karaoke bars and music lounges are de rigeur in the country. Religious singing and choirs in school lend more to the culture of singing. Tribal music is also based nearly to Western music's pentatonic scale. So when the Spanish brought over Latin music and religious music Filipinos adapted. Then came the Americans with jazz and modern music which freed the inhibited Filipinos with more expressive music. One trait of Filipino singers is the concept of "plakado" or sounding like the artist on the record. Mimicking the style and sound of artists can be seen in Filipino singers hence the flexibility in their sound and tone. Singing skill is bragging rights in our country. Plus bad singers get weeded out at karaoke bars. Usually getting shot or knifed when they sing bad in ridiculously simple songs like "My Way". This assures only the good singing genes get passed on.
