this is the slickest drum groove of maybe all of their stuff. cavs makes the 5/4 flow like fuckin BUTTER bro it sounds effortless. it's one thing to hear it in the context of the song, but what blows my mind is that cavs whipped that feel out of thin air. most songs in 5 have one of like three stock parts but supreme ascendancy is just such a unique creative feel that im yet to hear anywhere else also HUGE hype for static electricity. it's an awesome vehicle live, but youve gotta start with the studio it's just so smooth and groovy. i won't give the song away, but i will say that it sounds like an Electric boss battle out in the middle of a desert. idk what specifically but it captures such an intense specific vibe. every time i hear the synth transition at the start of it i literally get goosebumps
Heya man! Been awhile since I suggested something for ya. I was the dude who suggested Parius and Serval. Since you've been on a KGLW kick, im gonna recommend something somewhat similar. Giant Squid - La Brea Tar Pits. They are a sludgy progressive band like The Ocean or Mastodon, but have some fuzzed out tones like stoner bands
This is a well composed song. I think the next track on the album is perhaps Gizzards best song ever, changes daily, Crumbling Castle, Dripping Tap, Gilgamesh etc, but Static Electricity....wow.
O.N.E. getting blocked in Australia is weird, King Gizzard is a fully Aussie band. This song's great in my opinion. I'm pretty sure they used a midi sitar on this track, which is weird to me since both Stu and Cookie own real sitars (I'm pretty sure). Lots of K.G. and L.W. uses a midi bass too, because (I think) nobody in the band has a microtonal bass except Lucas, who's too busy being a dad to play on tons of King Gizzard's studio tracks. Next up is Static Electricity, another good track in my opinion (but I don't really dislike any King Gizzard material). Lots of people seem to like it.
yes, i cant listen to much of king gizzard in russia... its kinda painful that i cant watch their music videos and listen to new albums, vpns do exist but i cant be always using them... the only albums that are really available are like 3 old ones and k.g, l.w. and infest the rats nest, and that's i believe due to them dropping from flightless at the time of releasing those
@@marcusfoley3347 no its actually the distributors who ban certain places in the world from listening. band camp does work, but i cant really do much there as payment methods are banned as well
I kinda get where you're coming from with lyrics, especially metal. So many metal lyrics are crap and not even just in a campy fun way, that I can dig.
Dnb??? 😭 what … (This is by no means an attack fyi! But this ain’t no dnb haha) The lyrics make this song so much harder hitting. Is about disgusting priests being inappropriate and getting away with it…. That’s the general gist of it. That whole album is quite serious imho. Also another thing and this may just be me having this illusion, but I do feel like their lyrics and instrumentals go hand in hand and amplify each other quite a lot (And no I’m not on shrooms hahahahahahaha) Keep it up G!
I don’t think he said the song is reminiscent of DnB, he was talking specifically about the drum pattern going on which is definitely DnB influenced. Amen break esque
@@JacowateHamaeran fair point 🤝 If you’d isolate the drum ye out of context I’d say it goes towards a break beat… although all in all I’d never put those two together in this. ^^ haha anyway
fyi, the next two tracks, static electricity + east west link, have a great live video from Melbourne '21 where East West Link flows straight into Static Electricity
Subscribed. I like your channel. If you are inclined to explore more, may I suggest a rection to BABYMETAL. Their music has a positive and uplifting message. They have a fun and awesome performance: BABYMETAL - PA PA YA!! (feat. F.HERO) (OFFICIAL) 🖖 ❤
bro is so chill
The next track, Static Electricity, is my favorite from this album! I think you'll enjoy it as well. 🦎
it's so good ..one of their best songs in general!!
Easily the best song on the track and arguably one of the best KG songs live!

Go to his community posts and find the metalhead envies post, if you put it there it’s pretty much guaranteed he’ll do it
Static electricity is a favourite of mine as well, I’m still yet to hear a song with the same “vibes” as it

love the next song. studio version has a great groove

Sorry to hear that, pity comrade Putin doesn't allow them... does band camp not exist in Russia?

I agree about the music and lyrics, I think PDA may be be their best example of that sort of synchronisity.

still think the studio is the better version to begin with
