- Burbank Airport, officially the 'Hollywood/Burbank Airport,' is a popular airport because it is much smaller and less complicated than the International LAX. Amazingly this little spot was opened in 1930. It was previously called the 'Bob Hope' Airport. (Sadly, do many know who he was?)
Work has started on a 1.1 billion dollar upgrade on this facility. It will be moved to an area on the premises, see the map in the video. I highlight some of the changes that will happen, and a few things that will remain the same.
Also I videoed the new versions of the off and on ramps from the 5 freeway, which we call the Golden State Freeway. It just shows some of the newer transitions available and accessible.

I have no plans to go to Burbank airport, but it's still interesting. Outdoor walkways are awesome. So nostalgic for me. I remember when Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines had outdoor walkways to get on/off the plane. Thanks!!!

Yeah Bruce, that won't change. I was so impressed when Lihue airport went to the walk on terminal gates. So much easier!

Hey, thanks for watching! It's the still shots that show the upcoming terminal, the videos obviously, are the current building.
BUR will be an even better airport, but focusing on the driving is not the reason why. Its terminals, outdoor and both door entry/exit and its options for public transit are the reasons why. It's so sad that we refuse to see how addicted we've become to driving. There is not much we can do about CO2 when it comes to flying, but getting to/from the airport we can do better.
Thank you for your opinion, once the new airport is completed, we will get to experience the improvements.

1:32 the new terminal will be located where Lot A was. Lot A is no longer there. They already broke ground on IT
