Games have just evolved, of course the likes of Timsplitters were great fun but more modern titles are just as incredible. Perhaps in different ways that's all.
When I was a little boy, I used to find it hilarious how "Balls" was written on some of the bottles. I also remember shooting those balls on the pool/snooker table.
One time the game glitched, and I skipped the intro cutscene to this level right when it said "Ah, Chicago... And i've had a belly full of it..." and when I began the level it started going "ANDIHAD A BELLFULL AND I HAD A BELL FULL" And it never fucking stopped until I quit the game!
A friend and me found a hilarious glitch in Chicago. When the second player answers the phone call in the phone booth, the first player has to shoot the second player to death during the phone call. For some reason the second player will be able to control the dead body, just sliding over the ground. It looks amazing. Even funnier though is that it makes you invincible and distract enemies for player one. Good times.
Did the glitch happen on the PS2 version, or the Xbox version? Having both, I tried the Xbox version and the glitch didn't happen, I was really disappointed. I haven't tried the PS2 version yet for the glitch.
And if it still doesn't work, try repeatedly pressing A (answering, hanging up, answering, hanging up). If it does not work, try it a few times. If it still does not work, then I do not know the answer. Maybe I am going to try it again sometime to see what I did.
Whenever my brother and I played this level we would ignore the barrels and play up to the part where you have to fight Big Tony. Then we would lure Big Tony all the way back to the starting point and shoot the barrels. We would then go into that building with the safe in it and try sniping him.
Timesplitters 2 is seriously my favorite FPS, maybe even my favorite 6th gen game. Great Graphics, Music, Gameplay and Presentation. Its a shame the actual story was paper-thin
Ok so, I'm looking for music that is a lot like that smoky film noir style of jazz that plays at 0:50. Any help? All the stuff I've come across is way to lively to play under a bridge in black and white in a pinstripe suit and a fedora.
@SuperNerd000 so do i dude... i was seven when i started playing it... now in 15 and if my friends knew i still play it they'd laugh at me. they just wouldn't understand though.. it's like a childhood game for me, and it's hard to let go. :(
***** It's not fan-made, it's made by legit developers. I just don't have enough information as to who those developers are, but the name of the project is "Timesplitters: Rewind." The game will be an HD remake of all three games and will be available for free. Right now it's being developed for PC, but they said they might make it for PS4, maybe even XB1.
no... Perfect Dark, dude. that's what i meant. there is a chicago level in Perfect Dark on the N64 and the game is made by the RARE team that later made Timesplitters, called Free radical.
*Sigh* Chicago, and I've had a belly full of it. Everyones one the take! The D.A. City Hall, even the cops on the beat! Being payed to turn a blind eye. But me? Nahh I couldn't, so I got out.. It's all down to Mr Big. HE'S cost me everything, so tonight I sent him a message.. And boy would he take the bait.
WHAT? He's back in town whaaaat he's back and he's lookin for ya, braces cmon you stoopid.. i want that son of a.. I want him dead you hear me? DEEEAAAD! yeah, dead, we'll see about that, but from now on big, you better watch the shadows, because i'm taking you down
@jade45631 Fenton was real as well. Well "A" Fenton anyway. My one high school teacher told a story about his grand father who was in Chicago and fought the Mafia. His last name also was Fenton haha. I wonder if they must have got the idea from it. I have no proof because I looked up the last name and got nothing. He showed us the article though. Pretty interesting how close they both sound though. Awesome game by the way. Really loved it.
I would always take time to go to the pool table and shoot the pool balls into the holes. :-) Also, watching the car crash, hit the fire hydrant and explode will always a great moment in gaming, even if, by today's standards, it's relatively simple. Old loves die hard. |:-p
Chicago huh? the Timesplitters team made Perfect Dark, right? well in Perfect Dark you happen to be in Chicago for a mission, too, and this song is a bit similar to the Chicago song in Perfect Dark (mostly the tempo). Is this level a tribute to Perfect Dark?... probably not :P
@aaronia1 yeaaa i know. I can't stand that right when a game comes out with slightly better graphics, people forget the games that made their childhood and move onto that call of duty crap. Ughh. It confuses me...
@x21gunsx4everx well fuck that im 18 and i still play. long live that game haha. if your friends cant understand that be like lol gtfo im getting new friends
"All our taxis are busy at this time sir."
Millisecond later.
"Of course we'll send you a taxi sir."
FENNNTOOOONN!
You know a game is epic when you first play it as a kid, and 10 years later you play it again and enjoy it just AS MUCH!!
I never enjoy games like I did when i was a kid playing games like this. Is something wrong with games nowadays? Much Childhood, such Nostalgia
Games have just evolved, of course the likes of Timsplitters were great fun but more modern titles are just as incredible. Perhaps in different ways that's all.
***** Not so true. There are great games, but Timesplitters great? No. No other recent game can compare.
HenZoid MK Matter of opinion. I think it's a little short sighted to think no modern games are as good or better than Timesplitters.
yes its because people are trying to sell you season passes instead of good games
Emberformula 2 and dlc and microtransactions
I've only been introduced to Timesplitters 2 recently, but I can say that this theme is fantastic and I seriously missed out as a kid.
there's no ego-shooter better than timesplitters.... this game is pure awesomness!!!!
This game has amazing levels and music, excellent gameplay. It's still one of the best FPS.
Best track in the game by far. It's a perfect blend of vintage vibe and modern chillout beats.
The musicians really earned their wages with this game.
I played this game recently...and it's still awesome !
"You better watch the shadows, because I'm taking you down."
"I'll send a taxi right your way, sir!"
When I was a little boy, I used to find it hilarious how "Balls" was written on some of the bottles. I also remember shooting those balls on the pool/snooker table.
This theme is so awesome.
Oh my god that happened to to me on the Siberia cutscene and it was just Cortez going "Waoh!!1" like an idiot

It happend on the PS2 version, so maybe that's the cause.

Timesplitters 2 is seriously my favorite FPS, maybe even my favorite 6th gen game. Great Graphics, Music, Gameplay and Presentation. Its a shame the actual story was paper-thin
"why I oughta"
No man, Perfect Dark was made by the same guy for the N64 :D He means that this level was a tribute to that game :)
Ok so, I'm looking for music that is a lot like that smoky film noir style of jazz that plays at 0:50. Any help? All the stuff I've come across is way to lively to play under a bridge in black and white in a pinstripe suit and a fedora.
Lol I love all the "Untouchables" references in this level B)
"I think you've got the wrong number dear."
One thing ... memories.

"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING IN MY CLUB!"
Good old classic 1930's Silenced Pistols! :)
*Hey its Marco, meet me at the news stand down the main street.*-Marco 2002
@KARMATiiCBRAD All you do is punch them twice and they explode. I did miss one once though and had to run through the Splitters to get it.
"He's back in town!"
"You shmuck"
@SuperNerd000 so do i dude... i was seven when i started playing it... now in 15 and if my friends knew i still play it they'd laugh at me. they just wouldn't understand though.. it's like a childhood game for me, and it's hard to let go. :(
yeah, it was a really good concept
Moulin Rouge & Burlesque ftw :D
"Of course we'll rent you a taxi sir."
@x21gunsx4everx I know the feeling, first FPS I ever played with the exception of maybe Half-Life or Counter-Strike

Ahh, Chicago... And I've got a bellyful of it.
FENNNNNTOOOONNN!
everytime i hear this theme, all i can imagine is the sound of the tommy gun shooting and the guys dying in the level lol :)
Can someone state the genre of this music? It also features lightly in L.A. Noire and I am massively fond of it!
The theme is inspired by early Jazz music from the 1920's-40's.
You asked that question two months ago, didn't know if you figured it by now. :P
They both have a smooth, noir toned type of retro jazz.
Please make a timesplitters HD collection Ps4!!
***** It's not fan-made, it's made by legit developers. I just don't have enough information as to who those developers are, but the name of the project is "Timesplitters: Rewind." Best Level In TimeSplitter's 2 Story Mode. :p
no... Perfect Dark, dude. that's what i meant. there is a chicago level in Perfect Dark on the N64 and the game is made by the RARE team that later made Timesplitters, called Free radical.

Im going to hold my Pistol sideways, say 'mate' a whole lot, and I'll finally be in that dream of becoming a gangster!

The part when you have 2 tommy guns and sprayed the shit out of that V8 car.

I think that game is totally awesome + I'll PM you if that's ok with you ;)
"of course well send you a taxi sir"
I would always take time to go to the pool table and shoot the pool balls into the holes. :-)

I dual-wielded two Tommy Guns on his fat ass. XD
Future Perfect dude not Perfect Dark (-_-)"
What I hate most about this level is that Marco is so fucking slow and takes the most idiotic routes.
