I literally guessed Australia after seeing your Australia vacation vlog❤ I absolutely love what you and Sid are doing post-grad and how transparent you are about everything 😄
You have tons of parks in Montreal . But in the city center is difficult. If you stayed in other neighborhoods you would’ve enjoyed more of the small town vibe. Montreal is huge but city center is never a good place to live in. I have friends live in La Salle and they love how much outdoor spaces they have. Old Montreal as well. Maybe the location you were made this view of yours.
I think you would have gotten a very different perspective had you not lived in downtown MTL. Specifically in regards to the green space, there are quite a few parks, big and small, in the rest of the city.
Filming them consistently was having quite a negative impact on my mental health hence why I’ve switched it up a bit, but I’m planning on filming them again in the future when I feel ready! X
I’m SO hyped for you going back to Sydney. I travelled to Aus last British summer and loved it so much I’m going back at Easter. Will be keeping an eye out for up to date recs (if you didn’t visit Preach Cafe in Bondi would highly recommend; they have vegan biscoff pancakes hello). Also parkruns..I don’t know if you’ve done them before but they have LOADS in Aus. most of the ones in Sydney start at 0800 but double check as some start at 0700 💀
Having studied Tourism in university, the term "slow travel" does not really sit right with me... no offense at all please, it's just because you mentioned being unsure about the wording yourself. For me, Slow Travel has a rather sustainable insinuation, mostly meaning not taking flights. For example, it is often used in the context of people cycling for years in order to get to the other side of the world. For example, there were people cycling for almost a year straight in order to attend the COP in Dubai, or taking container ships for weeks instead of planes in order to get to an important location. The thing that you are doing does not really seem slow in that regard, also you're obviously taking a lot of very long flights all the time, so the sustainability aspect is just not there. My personal suggestion would be to ask yourself why you don't want to refer to your journey as simply "travelling" - as in the end, that's exactly what you're doing: you're moving from one unknown place to another and collect new impressions - I'd reckon your felt need to distinguish yourself from the term travelling might stem from the fact that most people look down on classical tourists ("tourists are always the other ones") and that holidays in today's day and age tend to be rather short, so you want to imply that that's not what you're doing - but I'd say that you're still tourists and you're still just travelling - and that's okay, embrace it!
does anyone have any experience/advice about living in Halifax, Nova Scotia? Currently deciding whether to rank Halifax or Helsinki as my first choice for my study year abroad at university and I’ve always wanted to go to Canada however I’ve heard some people say that Halifax isn’t the best place so I’m a little concerned about that
Halifax can be really really small for non-canadians/North Americans. Its a very homey 'city' with a few bars and not much of a nightlife scene. But it is also really really beautiful and really emphasizes east coast/Canadian lifestyle. its really rich in natural beauty and if you can drive it is really amazing and I would recommend. It is also very expensive, food prices and alcohol prices are really high alongside really high rent. It just depends what youre looking for, but dont go to Halifax if you are expecting a city.
@@sage9756 okay I see thank you, honestly that appeals to me quite a lot compared to a very “hustle and bustle” city anyway. Are the locals generally known to be friendly to tourists and that sort of thing?
@@JackFrostYT But keep in mind that Helsinki is also not as "hustling and bustling" - it might be the capital, but it's still not a huge metropolis and you might feel at home there quite easily. Either way, let us know how you decide!

Berlin, Montreal and Sydney are all great cities!
Love these videos. I would love to see more vlog time vidoes showing you exploring the local area! ❤
I found people in Toronto way friendlier than in Montréal.
Interesting!!
The servers are always pleasant because they rely on a good tip at the end also found Toronto much friendlier than Montreal
That’s interesting!!

@@JackFrostYT yes the locals are so so incredibly friendly and laidback. Everyone is kind and time moves slower on the east coast I swear.
