Hugeflyfisherman can we talk about super organized flyboxes? Needs a whole episode. Yeah my box is dirty. I fish for multi species and with a 5wt that is common. The dirtiest of boxes are usually the most fishy. If you need to organize midge vs hopper let the guide do the work for ya. Hopefully this inspires an episode. DB.

I always start up-top, and then work my way down if necessary. Nymphing does usually mean more fish. But if they’re hitting on the surface, that’s the most fun imho, and that’s where I stay.
@@svutility1 France, Chambéry; rivers the Leysse, (pretty urban) and the Chèran, (pretty wild), right at the bottom of the Alps. No one has ever seen it this bad. The fish and game equivalent did pretty massive electric fishing operations to move the trout and other fish a couple of months ago already once it became obvious that this was going to happen.
Sorry to hear that Gregg. We were in exceptional extreme drought in central Texas this year. My local river, the Pedernales quit flowing and became puddles. We got enough rain recently to get them flowing again, still a little low and muddy. Lost a lot of the fish population, still some big carp to fight. I hope your situation improves soon. I'm assuming this is West of the Bighorns. I fished the North and South Tounge this summer. Tried to fish the Porcupine in the Big Horns but ultimately didn't.
It's pretty clear you would have killed it if you used something smaller like #14 stimulator. All those smaller fish you missed would have been in the net. Still, I understand why you stuck with a bigger fish fly. Dry flies have no equal in the fun department.
I’m a true blue euro-dork and I usually dislike dryfly pricks ….. this video proves there is middle ground. It’s called being a good human, and this guy is one!

I was fishing up in the White Mountains in NH this last weekend, they were smashing the dries, no bites on the Euro.
The whites are beautiful, with some great fishing. Hoppers?
