Personally if that was my car , I’d look into what products are available to glue the roof skin back on. Most modern cars have the roof glued on . I know it’s not going to work on every vehicle but I’d definitely look into it 👌🏽 Keep up the good work
I lost count of good merino t shirts I ruined with spark burns before I wised up and started wearing a leather welding jacket and gloves. Helps do a better job when you are comfortable in the right gear.. Ease that drip rail trim carefully off the doner wreck.. someone will want it!
Text book removal!! Now a few hours picking to do!😁👍. You want a rust converter for inner framework but I'm not sure what's available in your neck of the woods. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Kiwi. I thought it was the safest option, even though it seemed like more work. The unpicking isn't going too badly, did one side and the front in about an hour and half this afternoon. I do have some Ranex rustbuster somewhere in the shed, and Feronite rusty metal primer (which I bought for the tin roof on the house. Too old and fat to get up there now) So might use those on it after a buff, see how it comes up. And to think, I have to do it all again, just as carefully on the donor 🤣 Back to work this week, so that'll be done in bits n bobs. Thanks for watching, and commenting. 👍
Coming along. Go slow as to not warp anything. Sand what you can then use a good rust converter. I've been using products from SEM which I get from Summit Racing. 👍👍👍👍
Best to watch out for grinder sparks around glass.I learnt that one the hard way😖
You’re making progress. Can’t offer any advice, because I’ve never taken off a roof panel. 👍

Good work mate, you could try and as much of the roof frame cleaned up with a stripper disc and what you can’t get at use some rust converter.
👌🏼⛽️
