    this is just a great song, its got a great hook and it is so well executed and produced in my opinion, axnd settle in its own way. It's not overpowering with its tracks so the horn section is very busy and there are a lot of layered vocals on top of vocals, but it's just so well done you gotta love it! Jimmy McShane died from AIDS in the 90's and from what I've heard about him success was pretty overwhelming to him and I would like to know more about the rise and fall of the group, and about McShane, for some reason it just seems like a classic success and tragedy story of the eighties and this song is almost like a perfect snapshot of the best in the worst of what was the 80's and what time was in a way, meaning the best as just a great song fun to listen to just a small section of time that stand still forever and then the worst because of the tragedy of a life cut short like so many others have been, but I would not think that anyone else does not have the same kind of feeling or inside that likes this song, or just music in general. The video is low key and interesting, I'm still trying to read the words in the background I'm trying to figure out what work of literature it's from, is it from Edgar Rice Burroughs? Was it written by Baltimore? I don't know, does anyone know the answer to that? Anyway was an interesting concept for the video, and one of my favorite memories of TV in the eighties was seeing Baltimore on solid gold, lip syncing to the head with the solid gold dancers and you can hear the spontaneity and the enthusiasm of the audience never the last, it was just a very unique time, makes me think of things like FX at the movies, Back to the Future, things like the 1985 World Series things like Kansas City BBQ, feeling on top of the world at my job, feeling at the bottom of the pit living through a rotten marriage and divorce getting stoned just to be able to face the next day which was barely doable, it reminds me of the best and worst of my life. This song will always be kind of special to me in that way, because it was not heard all that off and on the radio for some reason where I was, and when you heard it you wanted to turn it up as loud as you could too kind of I can print it on you because you wouldn't hear it again for a while, it was the kind of song that you heard and if somebody heard it through the radio while you were at a drive thru in a restaurant or at a stoplight usually they would say hey who sings that song anyway, do you know? Anyway, this is just a great song, its got a great hook and it is so well executed introduced in my opinion, and settle Inn in town way. It's not overpowering with its tracks though the horn section is very busy and there are a lot of Laird vocals on top of vocals, but its just so well done you gotta love it! well my comment somehow it was yanked around by my voice text and repeated and altered slightly and I was going to edit it and things like that but I read it and it is so ridiculously hilarious the way the words were twisted with the voice text getting it wrong and I just decided to leave it in because hell, it's not boring at least, even though it is probably the stupidest thing I've ever read, / said, but what the hell give you something to talk about and make fun of.

    “Para você que curte o som do Baltimora, artista Irlandês que estourou nos 80′s ;
    Baltimora, ou Jimmy McShane nasceu na Irlanda do Norte em 23 de Maio de 1957; Desde muito cedo ele sabia que existia algo que o distinguia dos seus amigos. Anos mais tarde assumiu que era gay. A família o excluiu com vergonha de sua sexualidade. O seu maior sucesso foi o “Tarzan Boy”. Jimmy faleceu a 28 de Março de 1995, vítima de AIDS. Tinha apenas 37 anos.

    I keep wanting to yell, "CUP YOUR HAND! No one's gonna hear you with your palm a foot from your mouth!"
    Someone said this was "positively gay," and of course they were lambasted for it. But, you know, it IS positively gay! in the way only the '80s can be. And that's not a bad thing; in fact, I positively miss it!

    @Honorius Gulmatico; why do you think he'd 'barf?'
    I think ANYONE - looking back at themselves - whether it's a haircut, or their clothes... ANYTHING - people look back at would find their past amusing.
    But, still - why single him out?
    To see Mr. McShane 'look back' now would REALLY be AMAZING in & of itself; he DIED 23 YEARS ago ('94).

    Because it was almost certainly sung by Maurizio Bassi. Jimmy McShane was probably just a frontman and didn't actually do most (if any) of the singing. It was never confirmed, but like you said, this is clearly sung with an Italian accent.
    And if you look up live performances they are very obviously lip-synced (I've only watched a few, but they were actually this same album recording).

    Good God I miss the 80s. I was in college all through the decade, and it was all just so bloody cool. This was one of a lot of songs that defined the sound of the decade for me. These guys, Flock of Seagulls, The Cure and so many others were my music. The funny thing is I wasn't "cool" in high school, but now I have teenagers telling me they wish they'd been around in the 80s. my wife partied with Ozzie, Poison, Guns & Roses, RATT, WASP and a bunch more. What a decade!

Thing is though I came across this and thought of when my son was little and I can see him still dancing to this and asking for it to be played. He is now 12 by the way. Anyway great memories watching him run around and do what he called dancing. LOL

    But ma be he´s not gay, and like always the society uses everything to predicate others, in this world!
    I m not anti-gay, i respect them, just a comment for the singer! :)

    This 80's hit reminds me of a British Army Redcoat in white sun helmet in South Africa,
