this is just a great song, its got a great hook and it is so well executed and produced in my opinion, axnd settle in its own way. Because it was almost certainly sung by Maurizio Bassi. Jimmy McShane was probably just a frontman and didn't actually do most (if any) of the singing. It was never confirmed, but like you said, this is clearly sung with an Italian accent. And if you look up live performances they are very obviously lip-synced (I've only watched a few, but they were actually this same album recording).
