Awesome video! There has been lots of speculation as to why unlicensed repros of the Marx Universal Monsters series keeps popping up in Mexico. This is very likely due to Marx having a subsidiary at one time in Mexico called Plastimarx. Marx very likely produced a set of molds for Plastimarx. The legitimate Plastimarx figures still featured both The "Marx" and "Universal" stamps on the bottom of the bases. Plastimarx went out of business in '91 and I'm assuming some enterprising individual wound up with the molds and has been cranking out these figures ever since. The Mexican figures all feature round dent holes in the back (a feature not on the original Marx figures nor the Uncle Milty reissues), and a slightly more brittle plastic. Although Marx also had a company in the UK, I've never heard of the monster line being produced over there.
@@johnwild8336 Thank you, John. I'm glad you liked my comment. I picked up a second set recently to customize and I realized just how much an oddity the Wolf Man is. Although the facial sculpt is close to Lon Chaney's Wolf Man, the clothing is completely different. If anything it resembles the costume from the British horror film, Curse Of The Werewolf (which was being distributed in America by Universal). This look also appears on the first run box art for Aurora's Wolf Man model, and later the Hasbro pint-by-numbers set of the Wolf Man.
Great review john i just got a set on ebay recast in the color green glad 2 have a set in my collection thanks i thought the frankenstien was actor glen strange
Fun video! I have an original Mummy and would like to point out that he always had missing fingers on his right hand. I also have the Aurora model whose right hand is bandaged in a fist and wrapped to his chest. I think that is how you know this is Kharis and not Im-Ho-Tep although his hand should not be free. Speaking of Im-Ho-Tep, the first 10-15 minutes of the archeological dig and burial flashback "Egyptian" footage of 1932's 'The Mummy' was filmed at Red Rock Canyon in California. The 1930's location filming combined with the unchanged landscape made watching the movie after visiting the area a disconcerting experience. Was I watching 'The Mummy' or a vacation video?

I don't know if you can call these bootlegs since they're made with the original molds, along with the Johnny West figures.

5:50 - I think the sculpt is more Glenn Strange than Lon Chaney.

I had all of the originals.
It really was a mistake not to have done Dracula back then.

Are you sure you have The Mummy, Kharis, instead of The Mummy, Imhotep? I can’t tell them apart.
Just looks like Chaney Jr. Never really saw Karloff walk. Thanks for watching.
Well, we never see Karloff walk on Screen as Imhotep. So, we can’t judge by that one Scene where he exits off camera.
Great channel, new subscriber!
Thank you and Welcome.
Another great review Mister Wild !

Cool Video
It's pronounced No-Tra Dom, however No-Tur-Dame is how the American College is pronounced. "Don't Ask Me Why" - Billy Joel.
It's All French To Me. LOL.
@@johnwild8336 Fact.
we can't help it if the french pronounce it wrong....
