    I have started your Color Grading Masterclass yesterday and I am enjoying so much!!!! I know I sound like an ad 😅 but that is very true. I find it much easier to follow because you have organise the videos so well. Sometimes, as I lack certain knowledge, when watching TH-cam, I didn't understand what the hell you were doing and therefore what I was doing neither. 😂 Now, it is much better. I have only started Module 3 but I thought I would drop by to say how nice it is (really enjoying the little jokes you add through the course). You are an awesome teacher. Another great in-depths video, thank you Dylan! With the new updates to FCP 11 would you say that the nature color correction features is almost on par with color finale 2? Now the magnetic masking is pretty much the same of the premiere feature of color finale! I have been following your contents and the pro course for a while now, would you consider making a video on your preferences on the stages of noise correction as a result of coloring? like color pixels and other small details that professional always pay attention to. Big thanks !!!!!!

    • @dylanjohndickerson
      @dylanjohndickerson  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks so much for watching! It certainly is much much closer. There are a few minor things that I still think make CF2 Pro worth it: the ability to transform LOG footage with ACES color transform option, LOG wheels, the blurring feature on HSL masks, and some other minor things. However with the new magnetic mask and the ability to rename color correction layers, the tools in FCP are much closer. Honestly, if FCP added the ability to blur HSL masks, there's a good chance I would stick to the native tools. The main reason I'd use Color Finale if that happened would be for the ACES conversion.
      As far as your suggestion at the end of the video, I go over that in the course! Perfecting your correction so you don't have your colors/pixels breaking apart, making your shot look less professional.

    • @dylanjohndickerson
      @dylanjohndickerson  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks man! Not exactly, but the color correction module is very applicable towards real estate color grading. That section itself should get your shots looking so much better. @@dylanjohndickerson I paid for the course...not happy that there's new-dity in it so far. Also...I'm only into the color theory...do I need to have Color finale pro? At one point, in "The Main UI Panel" you said:
      "I would not suggest using auto exposure or auto white balance, it doesn't always work and you're taking a color grading masterclass."
      If I'm taking a color grading masterclass, but relying on outside tools to work for me, it feels like I'm using auto.
      I've been using FCPX for 5 years now and I'v never worked much with color wheels or any of the other modes, which is why I got this course of yours. I do not want to have to purchase an addon that I have to worry about trying to resync with FCPX with every new update like some of the other plugins.
      I'm enjoying (for the most part, see the earlier bit) this course, but I want to make sure I can learn with just FCPX.
      Thanks Dylan.

      @@mtamech535 Hey my friend! A lot to take in and I'm slightly confused.
      Where is there nudity in the course? 😅 I never put anything like that in there.
      You do not need to buy Color Finale 2 Pro unless you want too. The course fully covers how to color correct and color grade with the tools built right into FCP. You can just skip all of the Color Finale lessons if you want and just watch the FCP ones. Those lessons are there for all the FCP users who have the plugin and/or want to learn more about the plugin.
      So in summary, there should not be any nudity and you do not need the plugin to take the course and benefit from it. Let me know if you have other questions 😊
