I just saw this. She made me cry when I saw it when it aired (loved that show - so wrong that it was canceled!) and it just made me cry again. Thanks for posting
I remember seeing the rerun of this episode on TV at my aunt's house when I was 4. Scared the hell out of me back then. Still a pretty powerful scene now.
Me too! But I was even more excited to see this lovable yet occasionally goofy suburban mom hunker down and stand up to Satan with her family behind her! It was so of the era.
Going through this with an alcoholic "friend" of my partner, who is utterly attempting to take him back to the sorrowful person he was and destroy our family! Demons and spirits are real. Than you Jessica! Remembering this clip from my youth, is just what I currently needed!
Something about seeing potentially the most ditzy character in the series somehow pull it together to stand up to evil in her clear mind was exciting and VERY emotional!
Can’t find the scene before this where they’re all in the room trying to figure out how to deal with the possessed baby. Once they all leave, it’s just the baby in the room-and then the toys in the room start move all by themselves and they just end the scene there. TERRIFYING!!! It was scarier-this being an episodic show and for part of a season the possessed baby was always a running storyline. Being younger I was always on edge that they would turn the episode to the baby. Gave the whole series a dark edge.
That's....pretty much how it is...in an exorcism....I have been doing exorcisms in service to the Lord thy God Jesus Christ of Nazareth for some 30+ years now...and this scene pretty much shows how it is.
academy award style acting by Katherine just great.
She slayed here. Amazing performance. You felt it, like going to church.
her acting was impeccable ......

Realistically as the owner of your house you can in fact rebuke satan or any demon in Jesus mighty name just command it to leave and it has to !

Didn't take much back then.

JESSICA WAS THE BEST!
john devesta Jessica was the absolute BEST. Smart. Funny. Warm. Silly. Kind. Carefree. Loving. Spirited. All the things we love in a heroine.
I would have Picked both Mary and Jessica To Confront the Enemy Together

I seem to remember the baby's father being thrown out the window. Not sure if he survived.
what episode is this.
Amittyville
Jessica took a big chance on that thing not attacking her instead of leaving.
Always...ALWAYS call bullies on their bullshit. That includes the god character of the Bible. He’s a goddamned bully.
Isn't this a comedy?
I loved that show but the possessed baby was a bit over the top.
How do you mean?
@Theonlyonestanding nope they totally jumped the shark with this. Pitiful
