I knew the voice acting of MDZS is next level but JGY 's voice actor took it to a whole new level. ALSO the bgm from the video that builds up to the tension. More reasons as to why MDZS is an actual artistic masterpiece.

As it is true JGY has a tragic backstory but it's no excuse to his actions. He claims he loves her when in reality he loves no one but himself. He's very selfish. He can kill anyone be it friend or family when he thinks their no longer useful. Hence, why I never felt sorry for him.
Kudos to that VA of JGY's. I adore his accent. Kudos to donghua team from giving me both puppy-eyed Meng Yao and wuff hot JGY. I do like Qin Su's appearance the most in manhua tho But I take this point (and end of the novel, tho not to spoil right it here) as a big say that he didn't kill his son. Denying it, but saying that he should have died if he hadn't been murdered (so he didn't kill him). Not to mention the name Jin Rusong (to be like a pine tree) is meant for a person the parents expect to live long, would JGY srsly give his son an ironic joke of a name like his father gave him? With how he tries not to be like that man, I would say no. At minimum it would reflect on hopefulness for the child not to be disabled. . . . . . . . JRS is listed by JGY as someone he killed, but on the same list is Qin Su and (maybe) Jin Zixuan. Both of whom we know he didn't kill, but was indirectly the cause of their deaths. Only thing know for sure about JRS is that an opposing clan member killed him. If JGY listed him as if it's his fault, I would coin in parent negligence here as the cause. But that's what I think after analazing this after years, who knows if donghua will change something here
JGY and QS were half siblings, and since kids born from incest are more likely to have mental and physical disability, JGY was afraid that his son would display signs of disability and or sickness , even though cultivators can’t really get “sick”. That would cause people to spread rumors, and JGY thought he can’t afford that. Not with his already shady reputation.
When you actually get to see how evil Jin Guangyao is, my God how his eyes changed, it gives me anxiety lol! dude when I first read the novel I hated him (and a lot more character not just him, almost everyone haha) but when you actually put a face and eyes to that evilness it gives you goosebumps, then after reading the novel for 100 times, with more detail; you actually get to see how incredible intelligence he is, in every moment, every single thing he's involved. I hate you Jin Guangyao, but I admit that you're absolutely intelligent. Can't wait for this new episode!!

Like in the donghua Wei Wuxian is the one who creates demonic cultivation whereas in the la he finds manuscripts that he learns demonic cultivation from or something like that. Also Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian are canonically married in the original storyline so yeah.
We won't know till donghua is finished. But donghua team follow the novel closely to the novel, so I doubt he'll be more evil. It's the drama that made him darker from the canon, I can't defend him there at all
@@TheSkyrimInquisitor interesting I thought the live action version gave him a LOT for pathos...while he was more theatrical, he was also more theatrically pitiful so that's why I felt that version is potentially more sympathetic or even slightly clownish for the audience to see and they may have a more soft impression of him. The novel version though to me read as one of the most cold-blooded characters I've ever read. Because the novel really shows that even as he's emoting, he's so analytical. Which doesn't mean he has a worse character...rather, you feel that he is so ultimately calculating that you can't trust him to have done something sheerly emotional even at the end (at least for me). I know the donghua isn't done yet and yes it will be interesting how it ultimately turns out. My comment was really about what I felt from this video...which has a lot of revelatory moments for the audience about this character.
