    Thank you for creating the SNS Nail System. It is fabulous. No breakage, no chipping, no fading, no splitting, no snags, no UV! Good for me, bad for my nail salon - I only go once a month now instead of every two weeks! :)

    People saying they can't understand the demonstrator are mad. He speaks perfectly, very clearly, better than many people around here whose native tongue is English!

    Love this video . I was a nail tech in the 90s and have been getting my nails done and paying a lot of money. My nail tech recently changed to this nail system and I had bought an inexpensive kit to try it out and see if I could do this myself. Of course you get what you pay for so now I am investing in this system and will be doing my friends nails. Thank you so much for posting this.

    Hi John, I purchased the soak off manicure remover bowl from eBay and it works very well. No more aluminum foil & cotton! I highly recommend it to everyone. Thanks...💅

    I just switched to SNS and I am HOOKED!!! I am excited to see how long I can get my natural nails to grow!!! I love the natural look. I always hated how the acrylic, and even sometimes the gel, looked so thick!

      Susanne Dawe are you having problem with the top coat brush keep getting hard?

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the sealer dry is not fully dry when you apply the gel brush to the nail it may set the gel on the brush and make it go hard. Brush saver will melt it off.

    • @susannedawe4825
      @susannedawe4825 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you for replying.when I have compiled my nail set everything looks great 👍....hands are washed no soap and dry...then I apply the top coat . Clients are coming back to me by text saying it's peeling off or if I make them wait I can see it rejecting the top coat.so I tried different ways as it something I'm doing but can't understand this peeling.

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, after applying the SNS and filing over get the client to rinse their hands, no soap. Apply sealer dry like nail varnish and then wipe over with paper towel. Apply a coat of top coat across all nails, apply a second coat of top coat across all nails, then i apply sealer dry over the top coat just flicking it over the surface so as not to dent the top coat. I have found this will dry the top coat to a hi shine.

    Thanks John for taking the time reply. I am on the artsy side and a beauty school drop out. Lol...I know I can do this myself the correct way. I have decided to order product and go for it. Oh and by the way I did notice something in the video. Big no no that keeps me never wanting to go nail salons these days. They just keep using their fingernails to clean away product . Very gross and unsanitary. This man actually did it in this instruction.

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, a soft plastic dusting brush is best as it can be effectively sanitised between clients. John

    Great video, very helpful. But I was told you need to wipe the base brush on paper towel and dip it into brush saver to stop the brush from clogging up with the powder, he doesn't seem to have any trouble! What do others do? I am trying to teach myself so some hints would be great. Thanks

    when using this technique is it thinner then traditional acrylic nails? And if not could someone possible tell me what the technique in which a small layer of acrylic or thick gel is add just to strengthen the nail?

  • @tavia5826
    @tavia5826 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you use a fake tip underneath to make nails appear longer? Also, if I change my mind on the colour I chose later on, can I use a normal nail polish on top rather than going back to the salon?

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +suitelifeofmaddi Hi, yes you can use a nail tip to extend the nail plate but you will have to apply the SNS in a different way to make sure the nail is strong. You can apply a normal nail varnish over the top of the SNS colour but when you remove the varnish you must use a NON Acetone.

  • @justyang8194
    @justyang8194 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you don't dust in between dipping? Why is that? Does it go for color powder too or just pink and white?

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this was me videoing the owner of SNS demonstrating the system. I always dust between dipping so thatI am not putting the resin on top of loose powder. I don't dust when doing french in case I drag white onto the pink area. John

    Great video! Had this done to my nails last week and so far I'm loving it. Question, what is the best technique/method to build up a natural curve to a very flat nail, using the SNS system? Thank you!

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, good question. Just use gel and powder layers in that area and seal. You can then file in the shape.

    I'm having difficulty soaking off this system. Please help!
    Thanks...💅

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Lucky Lucy Ricardo There should be no problem in soaking off. If your nail technician has used a UV Gel top coat which cures under a UV light, then you will have to file through the top coat to allow the pure acetone to work on the product underneath. UV top coat molecules are cross linked and will not dissolve in acetone. Also you could soak off in a soak off pot that has the facility to put warm water in the base therefore warming up the acetone allowing the product to soak off quicker.

    Okay so I just got the SNS French tip set
    They look amazing BUT I do have this white dust faint coat on the pink part of my nails? Now is the normal or did they do it wrong

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found a way to stop this happening. When applying the seal, apply sealer to the smile line first, then apply sealer to the white part of the tip. Wipe and white powder residue off the sealer brush and then apply sealer over the pink. If you apply sealer over the whole nail starting at the pink and over the white you will more than likely have picked up some residue white powder which can then be transferred to the pink. Why does the technician use an electric file on the natural nail? They thin the nails and are so damaging! Is this a mandatory step?

    • @mpscats360
      @mpscats360 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that was exactly what I was wondering. if this is suppose to be a better healthier version for my nails how is filing them like that any good.

    • @aminahxo8445
      @aminahxo8445 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +mpscats360 It's so damaging. I'm a qualified beauty therapist and have done training with different brands (non nail extensions) and have never been taught to do this... Was interested in the training but the drilling is pretty of-putting :/

    • @mpscats360
      @mpscats360 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A Blanchard yeah I was thinking the same. I really wanted this done but after seeing that I still have to get my enamel scraped off it is no longer appealing :(

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, when the electric file is used on the natural nail the speed setting must be to a very slow speed and only fine sanding bands used. It is perfectly safe to use it in this way. Too often the electric file is used at top speed causing damage to the nail plate. There no excuse for damaging the clients nails.

    if the nails are concave , what should we do ?

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ski nails are a problem. With acrylic it is easy to build up the concave part of the nail. With SNS you will have to put some extra layers of powder and Gel in that area so that it can be filed in to take out the concave.

    Hello I just got my sns nails done today and she did not use the white powder first but just applied the color I chose. When I went to a different salon she did apply the whote powder so my question is should the lady I went to today have applied the white powder first or is it ok to just go straight into the color? Thank you.

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Emily Hi, the white powder is only applied when doing a French i.e. Pink & Whites. When have a colour overlay on the whole nail then just the colour is applied. She did right. Hope that helps. John

    I had this done, and after all the dipping the lady sanded the back at my cuticle. After the second visit I noticed a deep indention. So I soaked them off. To find she had sanded so deep. My once hard nails were thin and two different noticeable levels. This was after being showed the video by another employee in the same salon. I want to do it again by with a person who applies it the correct way. It has taken over a month to grow out the damage and I work in a Jewelry store. Not a good look!

    • @johnsantee
      @johnsantee  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stevie Pottberg unfortunately there are a lot of bad or incorrectly trained technicians out there. Often the customer does not find out till it is too late and the damage is done. When the electric file is used on the natural nail it should be set at the slowest speed possible. The electric file in the wrong hands is a crime.

    • @sonyamsaez
      @sonyamsaez 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of nail technicians do not know how to properly use an electric file. Sorry to hear that

      Joe who is the owner of SNS who came over to the UK to promote the product was demonstrating on a model at a show. That is probably why he did not ask. Obvioulsy if it was a client in a salon the colour would be the clients choice. SNS have over 400 colours in the range which is amazing.
