    A suggestion of a thing to add to your kit in the van : a table :-) A folding table high enough to be used confortably while standing up. The thing you'll say "why didn't I use that before" and you'll even buy two more :-)

    Definitely one thing worth noting is the multiple lockouts. Too many times I see someone check and there is already someone's lockout on the isolator so ... yeah that will be fine! Even if the other one has no idea you are there ... mental!

    I spend my entire working day on site in Arc Flash PPE, it is only effective when you are not wearing any man made fibre clothing, even under the Arc Flash coveralls. But its is great to see the wearing of face visor and Arc Flash rated gloves when Proving Dead as these are the area of the body most at risk from a flash over

    The stroboscopic effect causes running machinery to appear as if it is stationery, such as in a lathe.

      which is why many factories use 100-120 Hz lighting, so it's not on the same frequency as the machines

    Good call on the trunking - looks much better! Love the retracting face shield & good to see the chin strap in place - I've had to chastise DNO line monkeys in the past on that issue. Much as I like MEM boards, I'm getting quite fond of the Schneider Isobar boards, aside from the price!
    I was always taught that you keep the lid on the busbar chamber any time you aren't actively working in there - not essential with the multiple lockouts, but is just good practice. Also not a fan of leaving those tails dangling like that - the sooner that they are dressed, terminated & secured the less chance of getting damaged or rubbed - again just good practice in my opinion.

In our factories every wire inside a cabinet is always coded and there are complete drawings of all the electrical wiring inside the cabinet. Also every multicore cable has its own unique number so you can identify each cable and easy identify where the other end is connected.

      E C it is made of metal and could have been recycled, would not have gone in to land fill, removing unnecessary equipment is good practice, less points to possible fail, bus bar chambers are not the safest, hence why we now install MCCB boards.

      In a commercial building you don't want to limit your options with power distribution. That bus bar box gives more options. They may want to run another set of sub mains in the future to another switchboard, that box make it easy to tap off. Also that business is probably renting the building, the owner might want it left because it gives future tenants more options.

    896 amps based on a 8 amp charger at bare min of 2,000 amps just on chargers alone..

      @johnschroeder3072 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Red Yellow Blue is officially old. The "new" is brown, black, grey. I've never quite understood why Europe uses such similar colours where as the British had quite clearly different colours for each phase then changed to align with Europe. In Australia we just change the yellow to white as to not have it mixed up with earth, so we use Red, White, Blue with a black neutral.

    Worked on Fords, Halewood in the 70's and on car production lines you need a letter from the Pope before you can turn them off so live working is the norm. Those days were before Health & Safety so they allowed apprentice electricians to work on 3 phase bus bars systems with no Flash guard equipment or isolation clothes/equipment. Until one day a 19 year old apprentice dropped a spanner on a live bus bar and went to pick it up thinking the bus bar was dead. That was the end of him but they did turn the production line off to remove his body. Our union at the time the EETPU called for a 48Hr strike over Health & Safety and the Newspapers called us militant bastards. Glad im now retired and H&S is taken more seriously. Well done Artisan Electrics.

    Have I missed something? I only counted 9 combinations on that 3 phase safe isolation and I thought there supposed to be 10? No L1 to L3? Can someone who knows please clarify.

      Yeah he missed L1-L3. The college would pull a lad on that mistake, probably just nervous on camera.

    Nothing to do with the video but as you seem to use Hagar a lot, so I just thought I'd say I fitted my first Hagar consumer unit today for storage heaters(quite nice if I say so myself with use a fire rated grommets and flexi tails)
    Normally a cheaper consumer unit
    would be fitted due to budget with the housing association client as sors are used and costs already agreed as per contract but it was a last minute type job reported late yesterday afternoon (they asked if it could be done on Xmas eve the old consumer unit was reported for upgrade in October!) With limited space, there was another consumer unit underneath and it went to the ceiling so only just fitted in without dropping the consumer unit underneath

    Why rip out a serviceable MEM 2 board. Just to add a few extra circuits. Leave the MEM 1 buss bar in service. Could have gone right at high level or right and down to a sub board. Seems the more videos I watch of yours the more I see you pull the clients pants down. Is that why you brand as Artisan?
