October - especially the second half - was also super exhausting for me. And the first thing that goes is tarot readings because when I’m tired my brain just can’t make the connections. I love Song of the Grandmothers deck for when capacity is low. Thanks for all of the book recommendations! I love hearing what non fiction and tarot adjacent books people have enjoyed. Definitely going to check out a couple of those.
There’s some decks I can’t connect with, although they have absolutely beautiful artwork. Isn’t it strange how that happens. How we so look forward to getting a deck, it arrives, we open it, fall in love with the art but then nothing. I have various beautiful decks in a drawer, but the two that stay with me are the Universal Ryder Waite and the Simplicity Tarot.
LMAO "edgelordy crowley fanboys" ADNISFDISFIEHFOWJFW I totally feel you though. I was scared of delving into Thoth bc I didn't feel intellectual enough to use that deck. Cut to me now LOVING thoth. I find that the deck never brings up esoteric stuff bc it knows I'm not like that or interested in it (although I tried to get into it but failed lol). It's one of my best practical decks and it's so clear and extremely accurate for me that I reach for it almost always now. Also, thoth has my favorite court cards of all time. They are so dynamic and full of life and are very multifaceted.
Im tired 😅 yes Omgosh i love shadowscapes. It was one of my first decks. Its just so hard for me to see all the details in the cards. ❤ Thoth seems intimidating to me lol😅 Burnout is killing me in my art hugs. Thank you for sharing october with us ❤
For me, the prairie majesty is married to the many queens tarot. They read so gerd together! On the other hand, circle of doors is triggering for me. impo the boor reads very male perspective of feminity. I'm non binary and it just misses every time. I actually stopped reading the book and sadly still struggle to connect. Very inspiring video! Think I'm gonna adopt the concept of using a deck a month. ❤

I really need to improve on my non-fiction reading 😅
It's a shame about the Shadowscapes deck
Audiobooks have been the way forward for me!
