Until this dropped, I thought Eli was absolutely the tops at portraying a crazed Viking. But Cesar's giving him a run for his money now, in a relatively calm homicidal way.
Just when you think they've reached their best. Words fail on this one but the goosebumps are still there. I made a bet you'd wreck your headphones and need new ones. Layne killing it on vo-perc, Eli worshipping a dark god, Geoff being the dark god, Cesar as an angry warrior and J being J......perfection. Gotta love Norse mythology and the Marvel franchise. I am so sick of them not winning awards. This is so much better than anything PTX has ever done and it's time they got recognized for it. Eli put in a TON of work on this one but they filmed this at Vu instead of PattyCake this time.
Those huge screens in the back were amazing. I think they should give us a tour of that studio in the Patreon pages. I’m intrigued at how they were able to do all that.
I personally don't like comparing VP with PTX regarding the music but VP truly has the best production and visuals (especially the makeup and costumes)
Miracle of Sound is an indie artist who makes songs inspired by video games, movies, and some TV series. He'll also throw in some Irish folk-related songs, which are pretty damned awesome. Anything related to the God of War franchise of his is pretty epic, too. He's worth reacting to, too.
Minding my own business, going about my day, expecting nothing special...then that happened. Eli and his backgrounds and effects, Layne and his vocal effects, Cesar getting absolutely fierce, Jnon...and then Geoff...Then Eli came in and went super high. Every talent on full display.
I think the MOST surprising thing for me was how FIERCE Cesar got a few times! Of course Geoff with the Earthquakes... and J helping us realize that Viking music is an appropriate RAP forum!!?? WHAT?? Ellie never fails to amaze me... SO versatile. Finally (not last), Layne's insanely SICK arrangement powers. A gift from Odin, perhaps? Stunning. Great reaction!
my mans do be inventing new notes with that B0... I mean, technically there is one on a grand piano and on a 5-string bass guitar with extended range, but holy shit also Eli popped off in the middle, it's kinda hard to process how high those belts were, especially for a guy
That B-0 from Geoff is like so spine-tingling! J.None's rap was astounding, and his expression were chilling!!! The harmonies were sublime. The beatboxing, freakin phenomenal, Eli's soaring full-voiced SOPRANOS!!! Ceasar was amazing, the WHOLE thing was amazing! Love your channel, man!
One slight correction for you: this was shot in a volume studio, much like The Mandalorian, called Vu Studio (pronounced view). The LED volume screen is 155 ft wide and 26 ft high. It's not green screen at PattyCake, though they did provide some costume and prop pieces (Cesar is wearing Jose's robe from My Mother Told Me). Happy Easter to you and yours, Blessed Passover to those of the Jewish faith, Happy end of Ramadan to those of Muslim faith, and to all others, I hope this weekend is special to you all.
Your reaction is the first one I've viewed for this amazing video, and I just had to share some info I have about the making of it: Not sure if you are a patreon of VP, but their behind the scenes video was pretty interesting: They filmed this song at a larger studio, (probably for the more elaborate set than Patty Cake has), on a hot Fla. day. Kathy (Jeff's wife and helper around the entire effort) was supposed to pick up J.None at the airport from his long flight from the West coast, at 8 a.m. of that day...And sure enuff, the flight was about 3 hours late! So they went on and started up on the recording...and almost instantly, the air conditioning failed...and them in heavy furs and makeup! Aarrrrggggh! When J.None finally arrived, (I'm not sure, but I suspect) it's why they added him in as the one who entered their Viking hall after the song had begun...it's certainly reasonable. (And that RAP he laid on us is full compensation for his tardiness!) Also, in their patreon video, released a LOOOONNG two weeks ago, there were a couple of suggestions for improvement from some people in the business, who know about such things, that they obviously took the time to correct...and it improved the entire video enormously...it's almost just perfect...well...really perfect, now. But I realized after watching all this melodrama, just how HARD they all work and struggle with their seemingly effortless offerings...and how they made this one as good as it is, in spite of all the setbacks, just makes it that much more amazing and special for me...So glad you threw the earphones! I agree entirely! Oh, and have a blessed Easter...Lia Danks
Yeah. Pretty much. No words. Reactor DJ__410 fell out of his chair at least twice. Yeah. This is the most epic video/singing I have seen from our guys yet. They are the absolute drama/theatrical singers ever! Song is from Assassin's Creed I have been told. Yeah. 😮😮
I love Miracle of Sound. He created this song based off Assassins Creed Valhalla video game. As far as I know it is most popular song to date and a bunch of covers have been done from heavy metal to now acapella. Voiceplay did hit this out of the park. Absolutely love this version!
Tim Foust (Home Free) breaks speakers, Geoff breaks reactors. LOL. These guys are all adding grit and passion. Love Ceasar's interpretation. And what a beat.
3, 3 reactors broken, ha ha ha Every time you think Voiceplay can't get any better.. they do something like this. Though this time it was at Vu studios, not Pattycake. Vu has GIANT led screens for backdrops.
Finally got to this reaction lol. Yes Layne's beatboxing was crazy in this song! Good crazy! They all performed top tier xD This is the song that brought my attention to Voiceplay! Great reaction!
My prediction is that QoFy’s facial expressions are going to be legendary, Mortius will be left stuttering, Kaz will pause a billion times, and Peter will TRY to keep his video under an hour. 😏
J None’s flight was three hours late so he was at the studio three hours past the start time; the AC was on the fritz at the studio (Vu, not Pattycake this time), Eli got no sleep the night before - look at his credits - and he and Cathy, the insomniac duo, were messaging in the middle of the night - you get the drift. The behind the scenes was amazing. And sweaty.
Geoff sounds deeper and deeper with each video, I don't know where is he going in the next years, but deeper than that, you're reaching the core of the earth.
They’re still saying they’re a quintet in the description, so it seems like THEY feel like J.None is still a member as well. Two years. Aaagh. Everybody seriously gets their rock god on for this one-who knew Cesar had so much fierceness in him. And J. with the EYES during that rap session-if he looked at me like that I’d beg for mercy. Eli-we knew he had it in him but holy crap! Geoff’s voice alone could clear a battle field. And Layne-GENIUS arrangement yet again, love his creativity, and we get to hear him sing-and then he hits us with more crazy beatbox sounds. Yet again they top themselves. Makes me want to go fight someone-and I’d lose BIG! LOL. If you haven’t heard the original, you should. These guys changed it up enough it’s futile to compare but the original is also genius. @MiracleofSound featuring Peyton Parrish. Definitely check it out. Great reaction, Dennis! And if you’re in touch with Qofy remind him to wear pants when he does his!
I've watched this reaction several times AND Oofy's several times as well to completely enjoy the total meltdowns! 😂😂❤. Rest assured, Oofy got the message, wore pants and made sure everyone knew he had them on! Lmao! 😂 Good he did because he fell to the floor and crawled back into his chair. It was hysterical! And then here is our dear Dennis, lost for words and looking like he got shocked per electricity! Gotta love this! ❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely loved what you said about trying to do better one day at a time. Before Voiceplay I’ve been trying to have the energy to do the things I want to do…I noticed how they seemed to always 1up themselves and it inspired me to start digging my heels in the dirt and take whatever comes my way. I gained the courage to do hard things. In the week that I’ve been binging everything of theirs in sight I’ve been able to finish my business logo in that week where before that it laid unfinished for about 3-4 years. It’s almost like music (especially their’s) is the key to unlocking all the things I was struggling with in my life. Thank you so much for this reaction video.
Great reaction 👍- your face summed up how I felt watching the premiere! 😂 I'd heard this song a lot recently (found the original whilst lost down the TH-cam rabbit hole, also a metal version by Jonathan Young) and had thought that VP could do a great version. When VP put out their "short" for this I could hardly wait for the full thing. This morning an audio only version popped up on my feed and I was just the teensiest bit disappointed because there didn't seem to be any of the grit and gravel from Eli that I'd expected but when the actual premiere happened it seemed so much more EPIC. I've played it over and over in the couple of hours since it's release. Geoff's bass turns me to mush every time, Eli and Cesar's rock god grit is perfect.... the whole thing is amazing! It was added straight to my Vikings playlist, to join the 4 other versions that I have saved there. I think J's rap must have been written especially by them for it because I've never heard anything like it in any other version that I've heard. Never would have thought of rap being included in this song but it works!
I loved your reaction!!! I saw this video when it premiered on YT today & of course I was blown away! And when I saw that you had reacted to it I clicked fast as lightning!!! If this is what happens every time you tell Eli to stop doing this, then PLEASE keep telling him that!!! Lol!!! Love you my brother in Christ! Happy Good Friday!!
Amen to your reaction!!! VoicePlay's epic-ness keeps reaching new heights (and Geoff's lows) and sounds (all of them!) Good Friday to you...and Blessed Easter to the entire King family. Jesus loves you! ❤
Look up a guy who goes by the name Miracle of Sound; I believe he wrote the song. He did a duet of this with Peyton Parrish. Then about 4 or 5 months ago they remade it with another man who has an extremely deep bass voice. I would suggest you listen to both videos. Even if you don't do a reaction to them both, check out the duet and the trio.
Watching you sitting there completely stunned into silence and struggling to find words. That's how I felt when I saw it this afternoon on their channel. 🤣😂 Valhalla Calling Me is a song by Miracle of Sound. He's an independent artist, he's been making music for years. This song in particular seems to have gone viral on him. :) i literally squealed like a little girl when I saw the notification from VP and realized they'd done a cover of this song! I'm still giddy about it! LOL. Gavin is AMAZING at what he does, too! You should go give his original a listen. I love what VoicePlay has done with their cover, but Miracle of Sound's original is outstanding, too. He has lots of other music on his channel. You might enjoy a trip through his catalogue. He's very worth reacting to as well! VP's production on this one was amazing. It really was very cinematic, and I absolutely LOVE that about them. They pull off the theatrical side of their work beautifully! I can't wait to see Qofy's reaction to this one! 😂🤣 Geoff's a beast here! Layne, Eli, J None, Cesar, they're all over the top here. I love it.
Somehow, they managed to make MMTM seem tame. Every time I watch it I feel like taking a nap because I’m so exhausted . I think the biggest surprise for me was seeing Cesar so fierce. We already knew Eli was crazy, Layne was demented and Geoff could look threatening. J as always was epic. And then they rolled it all up and turned it in to fierce Cesar. I do really like the end where he sounds sort of plaintive before the final ending. It reassured me that he had not gotten around the bend for good. Although I am not a fan of rap this was, like in Superstition, very well done. A little long for my personal taste but they did it really well. The lyrics were spot on.
The song was produced by Miracle of Sound. Miracle of Sound is an artist that specializes in composing songs and music based off of video games. He is a musical genius. This particular song was inspired by the Assassin's Creed Valhalla set in the Viking era.
Every time a new video comes out like you said, they make it better than the one before. This blew my mind! Have it on repeat. Lol, I love the channel BTW x
I thought you were awesome and then you mentioned that you were a Christian and I honestly just totally fell in love with you. Of course I’m a 72-year-old grandmother but hey …keep it up.
Love your reactions to VP. These guys are beyond amazing and should be the biggest group in the world to me they are and I don't say that lightly. They deserve so much more recognition then they get. Always great and will continue to be really hope to see them live someday.
Loved the reaction! The guys really were warriors on the day of the shoot, they battled hard to bring this to us. The A/C went out in the blistering heat of Florida in those hot, heavy leathers/furs. There's nothing these guys won't do.
This is sickingly AWESOME. This video seems to get more intense every time I watch it. I love the look of Viking Cesar; the wild-eyed look in his eyes. He looks as if he's ready to gut someone like a fish. Viking Eli looks even more scary that pirate Eli from Hoist the Colours. And I swear I heard the earth scream in terror at Geoff's growls. Move over Hoist the Colours; Valhalla Calling is VoicePlay's new top video.
O.M.G.!! This made my heart beat faster and made me breathe faster! Such a GREAT job by everyone! Gonna buy this on iTunes and put it on my iPod to listen to at work on repeat, should at least double my nightly production!!
Hello again from Auburn AL. Great reaction. Every time I listen to this I feel like I’m ready to run through a dadgum wall. Everything about this piece was beyond epic. The rap was the chef’s kiss. Goodness, so good.
Morissette sang Never Enough for David Foster 6 days in a row and The Bodyguard Medly day2 to day 6 and kept wowing David Foster!Facts: Originally she has to sing fo 3 days, but it ended singing 6 whole nights because of her exceptional performance!Sky is the limit for Morissette!! Please check these out! Thank you soo much!
This one had me screaming "OH MY GOD" (I'm so grateful for Voiceplay!) at the screen as I listened to it in my headphones, and I'm surprised they didn't get blown off. See? This song makes you talk to the Creator, those who believe in one anyway. No disrespect to anyone meant.
I totally agree, this team is the best! I mean, VP rocks with every collab, but the familarity with J and having brought in Cesar just is the top tier grouping.
And yes… J.None did write the rap. Even the original Artists (song was made about 2 years ago) were floored by this. Song of the Year, right there. They killed it, butchered it, cooked it like a six star sous chef, and put it out on a diamond studded platinum platter. On and Eli’s rock voice… HECK YEAH!
I don't know man, but I think your headphones make the experience better, I know my earpods aren't extremely bassy but when I listen to your reacts the sounds is well rounded I don't know if anyone have had that experience but great reaction anyway man❤.
You should definitely check out the original artist. There are 3 different versions released by Miracle of Sound: a solo, a duet with Payton Perrish, and a trio with Payton and Eric Holloway. (probably misspelled some names)
I'm late but Happy Easter. This is another stunner. I thought Geoff was just gonna keep going forever on that first low note. Cesar blew me away with his grit. I guess I should've known he could do that but he's been singing with the angels up until now that it surprised me. Eli kinda shook me a little. It looked and sounded like he was coming right through my phone screen! Layne is the berserker that arranged this and it's just insane and then to have J rapping? Who knew rapping would be so good in a viking song?!
I don't see that anyone else has mentioned in the comments yet--Geoff, Layne, Eli and J.None are all wearing the same makeup they had in My Mother Told Me, and Cesar is wearing Jose's cloak from that video.
J’s rap is phenomenal, but we can’t overlook Eli’s “This is war!!” and Geoff’s sustained B0 during that section either! Pure insanity!
Until this dropped, I thought Eli was absolutely the tops at portraying a crazed Viking. But Cesar's giving him a run for his money now, in a relatively calm homicidal way.
Meanwhile Geoff is a personified war horn. haha
@@MrTreefozHAHA love him
@@MrTreefozOmg absolutely 😂 he’s the war horn that sounds before the actual war actually starts 😂
The more I listen to this song the more I’m convinced that Geoff could give bass guitars some lessons on how to be played.
Honestly their production in this sky rocketed through the roof. It was like watching a movie!
EXACTLY!! This music video was next level 🔥🔥👑
I've honestly watched this since it came out on Patreon several times a day, almost on repeat. I'm not even tired of it. It still gives me goosebumps.
Honestly same. I can't stop.
Layne is the arranger of this epic arrangement. I have no words. I watched it shortly after they released it. I’m still speechless.
Of course he was! He is so dang good, it is crazy.

Oh - me too. They deserve to be recognized as the best because that is what they are.

Yes Gavin is awesome.
His version of Valhalla Calling with Peyton Parish and Eric Halloway is 🤌
Dennis, this BLEW MY MIND!! Eli, the rock god! Geoff, shifting some tectonic plates. Cesar with some grit and growl. Loved this!
Vikings had rap battles... look up flyting.
That's definitely one of those songs that leaves you feeling pumped and like you can take on the world.
@9:50 Eli's note at the very end is phenomenal.
They have VoicePlay in runes on their arms (Cesar's face).
my mans do be inventing new notes with that B0... I mean, technically there is one on a grand piano and on a 5-string bass guitar with extended range, but holy shit
also Eli popped off in the middle, it's kinda hard to process how high those belts were, especially for a guy

Kathy (Jeff's wife and helper around the entire effort) was supposed to pick up J.None at the airport from his long flight from the West coast, at 8 a.m. of that day...And sure enuff, the flight was about 3 hours late! They broke another reactor 😂😂 Awesome reaction!

Awww you're so sweet Lisa I love you so much you're such a beautiful amazing sweet person stay safe 💙
Literal chills whenever I hear Geoff hit those subharmonic notes.

This song seriously makes me feel as though I've gone on a heart pounding adventure. Every time I hear it I get goosebumps and get excited.

Dennis, listen to 0:28 of the song again, Geoff's beautiful B0. Another person pointed it out and I'm just in awe listening on repeat lol
the drum sound, the heavy door opening noise- excellent!

What a warrior's song! Love it.
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️
I thought you were awesome and then you mentioned that you were a Christian and I honestly just totally fell in love with you. Of course I’m a 72-year-old grandmother but hey …keep it up.
Love your reactions to VP. These guys are beyond amazing and should be the biggest group in the world to me they are and I don't say that lightly. They deserve so much more recognition then they get. Always great and will continue to be really hope to see them live someday.
i knew your reaction was gunna be worth the wait LOL ive still got this on repeat pounding my bass into the floor
I know how good they are, but this one still stuns me!
I have this rendition playing in my mind while I sleep!
Odin, Thor, Loki and Freya approved!! The Norse gods are smiling at this!
I hope this one is nominated for a grammy. Maybe arrangement?
I think Voiceplay has set a goal to break reactors!!!!
They achieve said goal over and over again lol
Hey I saw you on the premiere Dennis 😂 They are great and still a next level🥰🔥 Thank you for your brilliant and passionate reaction
Loved the reaction! The guys really were warriors on the day of the shoot, they battled hard to bring this to us. The A/C went out in the blistering heat of Florida in those hot, heavy leathers/furs. There's nothing these guys won't do.
I knew you would love it! Thank you for getting right on this one. We all love you Dennis!
Patyon Parish does similar songs as well. He got a different approach. Like Disney to rock, and adding theater to viking stuff
Miracle of Sound and Payton Parish actually did a version of this song a while back that was great.
@@bria243 They actually did a trio with Eric Halloway and that was also epic.
Voiceplay released a mini Saturday..... Voiceplay Loops.
They put together a verse from a song from scratch one at a time. It's really cool.
Hello again from Auburn AL. Great reaction. Every time I listen to this I feel like I’m ready to run through a dadgum wall. Everything about this piece was beyond epic. The rap was the chef’s kiss. Goodness, so good.
The same silence you had at the end happened to me as well,😅.
Thanks for the reaction
I mean, VP rocks with every collab, but the familarity with J and having brought in Cesar just is the top tier grouping.
absolutely gobsmackingly amazing ❤🏴
And yes… J.None did write the rap. Even the original Artists (song was made about 2 years ago) were floored by this.
Song of the Year, right there. They killed it, butchered it, cooked it like a six star sous chef, and put it out on a diamond studded platinum platter.
On and Eli’s rock voice… HECK YEAH!
Great reaction, thanks😂😊
You should check out Colm McGinnis Diggy Diggy Hole, it's an absolutely Epic heavy metal/ rock/ folk type song
Je suis tout à fait d'accord avec vous! Un chef d'oeuvre vocal tout y est!
I only can say Voiceplay thats fantastic
Voiceplay Released their new video on patreon sunday night. It is awesome. Apocalyptic time again.
I don't know man, but I think your headphones make the experience better, I know my earpods aren't extremely bassy but when I listen to your reacts the sounds is well rounded I don't know if anyone have had that experience but great reaction anyway man❤.
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️
Wooooo!!!! This got me fired up!!!
Knew you would love this. That rap though! It's beyond stunning.!
This is one of their bests. And I could wait to watch the reactors. You didn’t disappoint.
If you haven’t watch the original singers Miracles of Sound. He’s the one who made that song. It’s awesome and makes you wanna be a viking
A masterpiece. I was thinking "The Rains Of Castamere" was another, but that was only Geoff Castelluccis.
I don't see that anyone else has mentioned in the comments yet--Geoff, Layne, Eli and J.None are all wearing the same makeup they had in My Mother Told Me, and Cesar is wearing Jose's cloak from that video.
im swede and i love this couse its true!
