Masterpiece.. What compels a man to put together such a phenomenal piece of music? This isn't skill nor is it an experienced musician with good style.. This is Love. This is Triumphant.. Legendary.
Sublime, symphonic, heartbreaking. It's great to be alive and hear this version of Hide and Seek. If I'd been at this concert I would've cried in the terrible silence when they left the stage. ♥️
This soars. He puts all his sonic majesty out there and then does something he usually doesn't - he lets real emotion infuse the trajectory and velocity. Well played, Anton.
The Grand Opera version of this wonderful song . I love it as I love every version of it. I think that just maybe Anton's greatest talent may be arranging the parts for the instruments .I suspect that the song hasn't been recorded that Anton couldn't improve upon. I am serious , we all know what a great songwriter he is but no one ever seems to remark on this side of his genius . This is the song for my funeral , not sure the vicar would approve but one cannot please everyone .
Dan Allaire, drummer extraordinaire! Anton's not-so-secret weapon for many a moons. Grateful that I got to experience his drumming live at least once. That's where he shines.
Could anyone confirm if the lyrics at the end are borrowed to The Smiths? Anyway, love this live version especially, such a strangely good vibe on that outro guitar solo.. You nailed it Anton! 😉 ✌️
i am always amazed by this performance.. hope one day i can do the same while im on stage, that'll be my dream come true as odd as it may sound.. hide and seek is an amazing song!
Anton Newcombe. No he’s no master of the Universe, but he does pretty well An interesting life in Berlin spent with a lot creative, interesting and talented people doing what they love ❤️ I don’t have his talent, but I’ve got enough. Serious woman here who seriously needs to find something other to do than watch music on TH-cam all day and night!
Create something every day. Make Art every day. Whatever you want to do, do it every day. You can do whatever you want to do, IF you really want to do it. I hope this finds you well 💗🌎
OK, I’m finally going to ask this question. I do have beginning dementia so it’s a little bit hard for me to communicate. At the beginning of the concert on many shows there is a cigarette lighting thing going on. Any meaning to that? (Please do not make fun of my age, I’ve lived a hard life and I’m still rocking.) Then, what is that warbling sound that fills the auditorium at the end of a show. It’s bizarre. Thanks guys!
thanks for answering, even that late. i got a twin reverb and a re-20 now and im very very close to that sound meanwhile now.and i play that special technique you described too ;-)
i dont have any of these guitars, they are so rare and expensive as you know. i use a hagstrom superswede with p90´s. sounds quite well. i heard about the pedal, but i would like to listen first. are there any demo videos somewehere? thx for your help
+RenardWT god only knows what i will do now that i found out he's with you laugh as my world turns grey i still can't find the words to say nobody loves you like i do you play hide and seek we play peek'a'boo even i can see nothing good happens with you nobody knows that i love you it's a secret i keep to myself how i feel sometimes i think i'm invisible it's impossable and nothing else is even real we play hide and seek we play peek'a'boo even i can see something strange happened to you
It's ad lib of the Smiths. I've seen this happen so many fucking times and now it's fucking with my life, it's fucking with your life, it's wasting my time, it's screwing with their lives, etc. etc. Its fucking up everything that I fucking do, blah, blah, blah Add lib
i mostly need the typical "anton" sound. you can hear it best on "servo" or "here it comes" in the beginning here /watch?v=jSPOSJGunhM or here /watch?v=7zbrH4qxX9c i also love this sound on "servo" here /watch?v=b5kPE53ufCg&feature=BFa&list=PLD78C606571D083C6 especially when he hits the A at 1:16 and at 2:23 and this georgeous sound between the A and the C at 2:35,5 ;-) turn up the volume and use headphones
If you compare the two tracks, BJM are also using their guitars to make similar sounds to the music in the first part of "That joke isn't funny any more" - in the second part in this instance at this gig Anton adds to the original lyrics with his ad libbing which goes a little deeper than the original.
for me anton and john lennon are the 2 really good artest's just throuh all the shit they've had to put up with and the way they express it is amazing.but that shit gives them a really good bosth to make them good.
Masterpiece.. What compels a man to put together such a phenomenal piece of music? This isn't skill nor is it an experienced musician with good style.. This is Love. This is Triumphant.. Legendary.
This is my fave version of Hide and Seek on youtube.
Mine, as well 💋
Same
Its 2024 im still here
Sublime, symphonic, heartbreaking. It's great to be alive and hear this version of Hide and Seek. If I'd been at this concert I would've cried in the terrible silence when they left the stage. ♥️
it doesn't get better than this
Anton is the god of Psych and he got the last laugh over the corporate bands
He's still laughing
you may like anton or not but this man fuckin feels it and kills it
Absolutely God damn right!
Exactly what is missing in today's pop singers.
He is real... he is for real... he sings his emotions...
This is a timeless comment.......thank you
The best version available on TH-cam
This song DEFINES the 1990s and beyond
I want this played at my funeral
No - I'm going to have Anton's 'Going to Hell!' at my funeral!
This soars. He puts all his sonic majesty out there and then does something he usually doesn't - he lets real emotion infuse the trajectory and velocity. Well played, Anton.
its took 50 years to find something to stop me from listening to 'Curved Air' every day, never thought it'd happen.
Curved air
This music makes me feel empowered even when it seems no one cares or is paying any attention. SO thank you.
The Grand Opera version of this wonderful song . I love it as I love every version of it. Phenomenal performance
I've seen this happen in other peoples lives, and now it's happened in my life.. awesome smiths tribute
I'm glad someone noticed it.
Cant play guitar, cant sing. Love him. Gives me hope
Trickydicky
Anthon - I don't know how you do it but you give me and many others so much pleasure.....................thanks!
Massive, amazing "jam"...Goosebumps!!
best bjm drummer
Dan Allaire, drummer extraordinaire! Anton's not-so-secret weapon for many a moons. Grateful that I got to experience his drumming live at least once. That's where he shines.
A great performance! Love the Smiths tribute
Awesome - Rock'n'roll as it should be... And is it just me - Or is virtually every BJM track so, so much better live? That's the mark of a great band.
Amen, Brother! 🙏🙌
Shoutout to Dan Allaire, Drummer Extraordinaire 🙌💪
I've been listening to BJM for the better part of a dozen years... By far the tightest video I have seen, thanks so much for posting this!!!
They are so into the music they are playing...its amazing...
I feel envy in the audience. Not every live become something like this.
Now that my friends is a performance 💪
i listen to it since 2012 when i discovered bjm and i will do until i be dead
ya van para 12 o 13 años y siempre volviendo acá todos los años. obra maestra.
THE Best at his best
still so magical!
This version is a fucking masterpiece
Could anyone confirm if the lyrics at the end are borrowed to The Smiths? Anyway, love this live version especially, such a strangely good vibe on that outro guitar solo.. You nailed it Anton! 😉 ✌️
I love this era of Anton. shaved and crazy
This is great song. Smith bit is brilliant
i am always amazed by this performance.. hope one day i can do the same while im on stage, that'll be my dream come true as odd as it may sound.. hide and seek is an amazing song!
Thanks for playing this just for me on my birthday!
Just bringing it...master class...⚡️
Now I want to hear Morrissey cover BJM Hide and Seek
Only cowboys and Joel Gion can make double denim look as cool as fuck
Still soulful an intense after all these years!
Wow! Killer version.
I am really moved by this performance from 04:44 on.
Lmao, Anton pulling a Morrissey.
That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore.
There's a problem with this version: if my speakers were already on full volume for the first half, what am I meant to do for the second half?
th-cam.com/video/KOO5S4vxi0o/w-d-xo.html
Wow great performance! This is just perfect!
To my opinion better than the one on the cd...
Check out the John Peel session version! IMHO it's the best version of this track!
heroic
SUPERB
One Helluva of a Band 🤟🤟✌️😉
phenomenal... wish i was in the crowd under the spell of hallucinogens
Pretty sure the band was really ON in this moment.

I love Frankie Emerson.
When your music is so good your imitators are Dandy.

Excellent upload!
Damn
I really like this one.
i dont have any of these guitars, they are so rare and expensive as you know. i use a hagstrom superswede with p90´s. sounds quite well.
i heard about the pedal, but i would like to listen first. are there any demo videos somewehere?
thx for your help
pure f*cking magic
Awsome!
wow
fucking outstanding
glorius
Jimi Hendrix is the most passionate, emotionally expressive musician I have ever heard. Anton Newcombe comes close ... very, very close!
i have to get this sound from antons ultrasonic but without this special guitar!
any tipps?
is it me or does this great tune sound like uncertain smile by the the and indigo eyes by peter murphy all rolled into one?
Yep you're right
Love both
heroic.
when i sing i get that accent too!
Someone has the complete lyrics of the song ? (I'm french and it's hard to understand everything)
+RenardWT
god only knows what i will do
now that i found out he's with you
laugh as my world turns grey
i still can't find the words to say
nobody loves you like i do
you play hide and seek
we play peek'a'boo
even i can see
nothing good happens with you
nobody knows that i love you
it's a secret i keep to myself
how i feel
sometimes i think i'm invisible
it's impossable
and nothing else is even real
we play hide and seek
we play peek'a'boo
even i can see
something strange happened to you
+Mark us I mean the lyrics the lyrics after 4:40 cause i can't find it anywhere
+RenardWT it's the smiths that joke isn't funny anymore
It's ad lib of the Smiths. I've seen this happen so many fucking times and now it's fucking with my life, it's fucking with your life, it's wasting my time, it's screwing with their lives, etc. etc. Its fucking up everything that I fucking do, blah, blah, blah Add lib
Anton often change some lyrics of this song.
Depending of which period
i mostly need the typical "anton" sound. you can hear it best on "servo" or "here it comes" in the beginning
here /watch?v=jSPOSJGunhM or here /watch?v=7zbrH4qxX9c
i also love this sound on "servo" here /watch?v=b5kPE53ufCg&feature=BFa&list=PLD78C606571D083C6 especially when he hits the A at 1:16 and at 2:23 and this georgeous sound between the A and the C at 2:35,5 ;-)
turn up the volume and use headphones
Antons voice sounds like Robert Smith of the Cure
This song has aged very well
Who's the idiots that voted thumbs down??? This is awesome!
genius
this is such a good, but untypical performance. i never saw anton doing like this way.
Ive seen it happen in other peoples lives now its happening in mine....sound familiar?
top notch baby
I want to hear and learn to fly by the foo fighters pared up
i wanna know where frankie gets his indian style shirts
Sounds really fucking good, but what is the The The connection? Homage?
lyrics straight from the smiths 'that joke isn't...' are they not ?
Yes. Never seen him do that in any other performance of this song
Paul D yes and he's also singing like Morrissey on purpose here.
If you compare the two tracks, BJM are also using their guitars to make similar sounds to the music in the first part of "That joke isn't funny any more" - in the second part in this instance at this gig Anton adds to the original lyrics with his ad libbing which goes a little deeper than the original.
listening to them back to back is fantastic. Always laugh/smile when he breaks into morrissey and puts his foot on his monitor. Rock n Roll Anton!
for me anton and john lennon are the 2 really good artest's just throuh all the shit they've had to put up with and the way they express it is amazing.but that shit gives them a really good bosth to make them good.
epic!
At first I was thinking, sounds like he's channeling moz, then at 4:44 my suspicions were confirmed...anton and gang need to fn tour again!
just one song???
i still love it
Fuck yeah
This is what it's all about.
The only thing that this almost perfect video lacks is Matt fucking Sexlywood.
ifuckingloveit Matt is that you ?? Bands trash with Matt in it always has been
brian jonestowns biggest ever gig?!
sharp fred perry anton
Anyone else hearing BBC by Ming Tea? Missus, won'tcha ...
Psychedelic Rock Oliie
Busting out the Morrissey
Fred Perry, huh, Anton? 😄
2 people are fucking with everything I knooooooow.
Mi spieghi perché un italiano deve commentare BJM in inglese?? "Meno persone mi capiscono, meglio ho vissuto", vero Anton?
and here can you see his unique technique, he almost hits the bridge directly 1:33
