Yes it is! I wear a full-face mask when sanding these things. Probably should have had at least a cloth mask on even when just cutting the pins really.
I was thinking, since the truck is a hybrid volt system. What if 1 battery and alternator deleted and use a step up transformer at the starter to start it. I would not do that, but do you think that would be possible?
While I prefer to keep the original setup with 24v, you can convert these to 12 volt systems very simply. It would be much easier to swap in a 12v starter than it would be to do any kind of step-up, IMO. Here's a helpful link... www.thetruckstop.us/forum/files/nn10.pdf
