Yeah, I agree. Bonamassa said that he won't buy a guitar unless he's OK with the idea that it could be worth nothing tomorrow and he'd still want to play it. I think that's a great attitude.
A guitar that I ordered from Sweetwater a week ago arrived yesterday (I mention that just to give a sense of the time frame/dates). I got pictures emailed to me, and they did include a 55 point inspection card that had been filled out. So they have either started doing it again, or they are still doing it for some items
Same here. I bought a PRS on Wednesday (May 6th) - they sent the photos on Thursday and it arrived on Friday (May 8th) with the 55 point inspection card. I'm guessing they did it prior to the Covid lockdown???

I speak with my Sweetwater rep all the time. He answers any questions I have even if it is about a product they do not carry. I have even sent my friends to my Sweetwater rep with questions. These people are not customers but friends of mine. My rep always helps them. It is like having a friend at a brick and mortar store. No more purchases from AMS or Zzounds. Only Sweetwater and Reverb.
Only problem I had with a ZZounds sale was some damage and missing parts from a Alesis Edrum kit. Big cross rail was broke and the bass drum trigger was glitching. They gave me a couple options, return and/or replace or they would send me a returned/open kit that had issues different than mine(bad trigger module). I took the add-on kit and ended up with double Bass drums and 2 extra tom triggers and a crap load of extra drum rail. This was 8 or so years ago and I have bought many Click.Ship...= no issue items from them. Quite a few have been Bstock or opened, most have had little or nothing to indicate the reduced pricing. Except for the eDrum incident I have all the same no incident service with AMS.
True fact the best guitar to invest in would be in the 100-300 range. Why because there are millions of guitars around. Think about it, if we lived in a world where we didn’t have factories and everything was mostly hand made then that would mean there would be many many less guitars around and then it would be worth buying as an investment but this isn’t the world right now. The more of any range that fender manufacture the less they will be worth. The question you should ask if money is an object is how much can you afford to lose with regard to a potential purchase?

Most bass players do not need a metronome and they are going to be bored silly trying to practice with one. Just play along with songs and let that be your metronome -- much more fun and useful.

I've bought ALL my gear including 22 guitars, Marshall amps/cans, Kemper amp, pedals, and they have been AWSOME all the way for 8 yrs now. And they financed me with no interest when noone else would finance a guitar cord for me. I love them, they have done me right at every level. Just my experience. 👍🤘
Sweetwater is great their in-house 2 yr warranty is the best. I bought a Line 6 hd fx100 and at about 1 yr 9 mo the Bluetooth went bad, I called them and about 5 min later they sent me a new one, no run around. And where are you supposed to get bit o honeys and laffy taffy.
I ordered a guitar from proaudiostar in Brooklyn about 10-15 days after lockdown started. Got to me in 3 days or so and they had excellent customer service. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. Super helpful
People are complaining about Positive Grid and some other companies with shipping delays but the worst one is Fractal Audio's FM3 which has been delayed over a year now and no one is complaining about them, WHY? I just got an email from Fractal Audio letting me know I have 5 days to decide if I want the FM3 WITHOUT the headphone jack or circuitry for $50 less, if I decided to pass on it Fractal is telling me the headphone model "will be shipping soon" but they have no clue when or how long before my name is called again and when they do start shipping they are going to start back at the beginning of the list. Sorry but that's just B.S. Is anyone else also having trouble with Amazon and their 2 day delivery for Prime Members?
Phil, don't know if you'll read this but I've had a Klotz lead for 30 years. I've stood on it, wrapped it badly, abused it mightily and it's still working. Both Jack's died but I replaced them with Neutric silent Jack's (that are the red ones with a silent sleeve as you showed) but the cable is fine. My buddy got one at the same time and has been much more gentle with his and his is like new. I've gone through hundreds of cables but that Klotz has been with me through learning, university, gigs, jamming and being stood on daily in my studio. Hope that's of some interest at least.

I have a 16ish year old epi les Paul. I needed new pots because one of them wasn't working so i swapped them all and i swapped the jack. Wish i did it sooner to be honest. Just feels better. Then i swapped out the bridge pickup with a SD custom 5. Its my first electric, and still my favorite. I love it even more now

I rarely buy new and even more rarely pay full price. I can’t stop buying new stuff though and rarely sell anything. You seem to have that balance a bit better.
I got the last of the Chinese counterfeits, Phillip. A beautifully made creme Gibson SG custom with 3 pickups and gold hardware. Also a Les Paul Custom: with quilted top green burst. Both with perfect Gibson headstocks. The shop: Luckinmusic as with all others are shut down now. I never knew how fat and clean a single melody line could caress my acoustic nerve until this axe arrived. Although not good for chords, but single lines: sweeter than honey, man. I shy away from sawtooth waves. The lower the distortion the bigger my smile. I gravitate to clean jazz and classical guitars. Both instruments arrived just before the S.H.I.T. hit the fan. Even Gibson would be proud. Under $500 I got both, delivered. Lastly, I have no problem with Chinese artisans, only the communist military regime who are stepping on the decent and highly skilled Chinese people.
Cincinnati Style chili does have spaghetti noodles, but the cinnamon and sugar in the chili is what makes it unique from Chicago style Chili. When the sit down restaurants open back, I have been craving a 3 Way Chili from Skyline. It's just not the same through the drive thru.
I bought the Spark. Realised it was redundant for my needs to some amps I have. THR10X, Katana. Spark were quickly responsive w my refund. I'm going to order 1 for my daughter now. Ha!
I got a Crate Vintage Club 50 for free a couple years back. All that was wrong with it was the input jack needed replaced and a fuse was blown. Guy let the thing sit for 15 years rather than repair it, so he just gave the thing away. After swapping the input jack and replacing the fuse my brother and I tag-teamed on replacing all of the caps (some of the capacitors were a bit bulged so we just did all of them). In the end I got a fantastic 50W tube combo for around $50 in parts and a couple days of work. Been my main amp since. Not really an investment, but if I wanted to sell it I'd make good money off it.
Investing? Most people simply buy the best guitar they can find for the money, that sounds, plays and looks like whatever they desire. And if you buy a quality instrument that is a popular brand, it will be far easier to potentially make a profit on. But there are obviously far better ways to make money on an investment.

I had to ask Sweetwater to stop calling me a couple of times. I've had plenty of correspondence with my "sales engineer" there (Chris, nice guy), but I really am not interested in anyone there telling me my strings are on the way to my house. They're incredibly nice about working through issues. I can't really say that I've had terrible experiences with the Guitar Center/Musician's Friend group, but I've never had any sort of direct contact with them on their websites. It feels less organic, I guess. More robotic. If I order by the right time of day, I get stuff from Sweetwater in one day, no additional cost. So I'm glad I have a decent opinion of them, as it's just super convenient for me.
yeah, ZZOUNDS guys can be really rude sometimes. I'm many thousands of dollars in, an embarrassing amount, and 9 times out of 10, especially for about the last six months...awful. But hey, no credit checks...

Positive grid was upfront with me about the delays in shipping and kept me informed until they shipped the spark. It is great and so is the app. They even have me a license to positive grid fx2 as a good will gesture . They are a very innovative and honest company.
Good to hear Positive Grid are honest, and also getting some unexpected success. I have one of their Bias powered heads and it is absolutely amazing. I prefer it when good things happen to good people.
25:40 When I was young I had I had chili and spaghetti served to me once. I Think that put me off chili. Was expecting a normal plate of spaghetti with spaghetti sauce so when it turned out to be chili I was fairly disappointed. Did not like it. Never had chili again. Can't be 200 outbound calls a day. Maybe a week. They're no way they're making a call every 2 minutes let alone taking calls. That stat must be wrong Phil.
If it helps I use to run a Davox system and the call center we managed had a required 300 to 400 calls a day. It just depend on how many pick up the phone.
@@PhillipMcKnight Sure you can do it if no one answer the calls. 7 hr day (after breaks and lunch), leaves 420 minutes for calls. 300 calls leaves 1.5 min per call. It would have to be a robot making the calls and transfering to a human if someone picks up. Right? Wrong? Lol
Zzounds and AMS are the same corporation. Both are only offering 4 payment plans on Fenders for some reason. I guess they don't want to sell any Fenders. 🤷♂️

Cincinnati Style chili does have spaghetti noodles, but the cinnamon and sugar in the chili is what makes it unique from Chicago style Chili. When the sit down restaurants open back, I have been craving a 3 Way Chili from Skyline. It's just not the same through the drive thru.

I bought the Spark. Realised it was redundant for my needs to some amps I have. THR10X, Katana. Spark were quickly responsive w my refund. I'm going to order 1 for my daughter now. Ha!
I got a Crate Vintage Club 50 for free a couple years back. All that was wrong with it was the input jack needed replaced and a fuse was blown. Guy let the thing sit for 15 years rather than repair it, so he just gave the thing away. After swapping the input jack and replacing the fuse my brother and I tag-teamed on replacing all of the caps (some of the capacitors were a bit bulged so we just did all of them). In the end I got a fantastic 50W tube combo for around $50 in parts and a couple days of work. Been my main amp since. Not really an investment, but if I wanted to sell it I'd make good money off it.
Investing? Most people simply buy the best guitar they can find for the money, that sounds, plays and looks like whatever they desire. And if you buy a quality instrument that is a popular brand, it will be far easier to potentially make a profit on. But there are obviously far better ways to make money on an investment.

I had to ask Sweetwater to stop calling me a couple of times. I've had plenty of correspondence with my "sales engineer" there (Chris, nice guy), but I really am not interested in anyone there telling me my strings are on the way to my house. They're incredibly nice about working through issues. I can't really say that I've had terrible experiences with the Guitar Center/Musician's Friend group, but I've never had any sort of direct contact with them on their websites. It feels less organic, I guess. More robotic. If I order by the right time of day, I get stuff from Sweetwater in one day, no additional cost. So I'm glad I have a decent opinion of them, as it's just super convenient for me.
yeah, ZZOUNDS guys can be really rude sometimes. I'm many thousands of dollars in, an embarrassing amount, and 9 times out of 10, especially for about the last six months...awful. But hey, no credit checks...

I have used zzsounds many times with no problems what so ever. They are owned by AMS, my last purchase was a PRS s2 and the packaging had AMS on it.
They are separate companies that share the same inventory, along with same day music.
I have read that and read that all three are owned by the guy who owned Victor's house of music in New Jersey, either way I have always had a great experience.

my american special strat has some alignment issue , the strings dont lie over pickup poles also the output jack is not switchcraft.
Positive grid was upfront with me about the delays in shipping and kept me informed until they shipped the spark. It is great and so is the app. They even have me a license to positive grid fx2 as a good will gesture . They are a very innovative and honest company.

25:40 When I was young I had I had chili and spaghetti served to me once. I Think that put me off chili. Was expecting a normal plate of spaghetti with spaghetti sauce so when it turned out to be chili I was fairly disappointed. Did not like it. Never had chili again.

Can't be 200 outbound calls a day. Maybe a week. They're no way they're making a call every 2 minutes let alone taking calls. That stat must be wrong Phil.
If it helps I use to run a Davox system and the call center we managed had a required 300 to 400 calls a day. It just depend on how many pick up the phone.
@@PhillipMcKnight Sure you can do it if no one answer the calls. 7 hr day (after breaks and lunch), leaves 420 minutes for calls. 300 calls leaves 1.5 min per call. It would have to be a robot making the calls and transfering to a human if someone picks up. Right? Wrong? Lol
It takes a lots of calls to get people on the phone. I would be surprised if they are not using some kind of auto dialer. It is easy to check

I talked to zzounds they had to make some changes because alot of people aren't paying on their payment plan because they lost their job
