This is the new promotional video for The Warehouse Gym in Leicester.
About the gym
This is the gyms 3rd incarnation since it opened in 2011. In this time the gym has grown year on year winning awards and adding to its equipment and facilities as it goes. The gym now attracts members of all levels of experience across just about all of the training discipline.
The new facilities at Lunsford road now boast the following:
13,000 square feet of training space
Over 80 pieces of pin and plate equipment
24 Pieces of leg equipment
50 metres of astroturf
Over 60 pairs of dumbells
In excess of 4000KG of plate weight.
A new strongman outdoor section inc. car dead lift
…….and a gym dog called Lilly
The gym caters for everyone; it’s not aimed at just a single demographic. The gym prides itself on equality and respect across the board. Your gender, faith, nationality, sexuality, ability, body size, training styles do not matter here. The rules are simple, come and enjoy your training, do it with surrounded by like minded people and train outside the box a little.
About the video
This video was something of a labour of love for me, Ive been a member at the gym since 2011 myself and ive been able to watch it grow and develop.
The previous video shot over 2 years ago feature Lynton the gym owners perspective, opening up and prepping the gym. This time round I wanted to shoot one from the member’s perspective. So the videos start similarly with a person entering the gym but this time it as if I were going in to train and I see some of the feats of strength, endurance and flexibility I see just about every time I train.
The hardware used was a Canon 5D mk3 with a variety of lenses I used freehand, tripod and gimbal’d mountings throughout.
One portion was shot on a slider with ultra slow motor which allowed the camera to take a photo every 5 seconds for 3 hours while creeping along. This resulted in 2500 photos which were stitched together and sped up to create a mere 6 seconds of this video.
Another worthwhile part to mention is the 7 way squat splicing. Toward the end of the video you see 2 squats done by 7 people. The splices also match the tempo of the backing music (which was no accident)
I spent 7 dedicated sessions at the gym capturing a variety of training styles. Some of these were filmed discreetly while people trained normally; some I asked specific people to come to the gym and strut their stuff on camera.
