I would recommend looking at creating your yard in the new field and towards the store. Maybe start with a shed. That way you don’t have to continue going through the main field to collect yard instruments. Might even be able to move the water town down as well later on.

Start spraying for weeds right after you plant to avoid destroying crops and loosing crop yield. Don’t wait for them to grow!

Also you can use a weeder or a hoe. Sure, they are not as wide as a sprayer, but they don't require to buy pesticide, and also some weeders can plant grass, cover crop and even canola! You'd need a cultivator for that though

You can attach 4 trees to the winch as long as their combined weight is less than the capacity of the winch. It's also helpful to park somewhat further away and pull each tree up until the ends are even, then connect them all at once.

According to the FS Academy it's a 5% profit to spray weeds (+20% for no weeds, -15% for using herbicide). So if you destroy 5% of your plot its not worth it, and even if you don't destroy anything it's barely worth it.
Edit: Just looked it up closer. If you spray right after planting, you dont get a penalty and you get the bonus for no weeds. So most of the other people here are right.

You are correct, sitting on money doesn't get you anywhere. Money needs to make money. I dont disagree with the forklift, you need to be able to efficiently load product. It is decent bang for your buck, that little tractor is almost worthless for that job. Good episode (so far). You have a nice bit of silage there, that was also a good call. Keep that sawmill fed, dont let your productions run out, that is down time where you lose a LOT of money!

  • @badsidionjones2679

suggestion for emptying the silage pit. buy a trailer for your Semi and then use a belt to empty the silage right into the trailer. Also I am trying to figure out why both you and Chainsaw put your water point so far from the greenhouses. Wouldn't have it made more sense to put them right next to the greenhouses. shorter drive time.

Dagger, have you ever thought of using a front blade on the tractor when leveling your silage in the pit? That's how they do it here in the states. That way, you're not going up and down, and then you may not get stuck either. I think it's time to start making your farm yard and adding terrain, concrete, asphalt, or rock driveways? Even an industrial forklift could get stuck while driving in grass, IRL! Someone said that you need to cut the trees down to shorter lengths because anything outside of the triggers won't be counted.

    • @falcon_fighter8711

11:16 Ferment it in the next load of stuff... Yep you said that last time, I thought you would have done it with the loader before sheeting it.
28:16 it is possible that if you had them at the most optimal length (6m or 9m from memory) and the branches stripped, the same two trees likely would have given you over 20k wood in the sawmill. Someone somewhere done a test of all different tree types and log lengths and came up with one which was best. I think it was Spruce, and 6m, or it could have been 9m lengths. It definitley wasnt more than 10m, he said in his video that it was like as much as 50% worse to use too long or too short logs.
Also, I do hope in the next FS game they expand crop destruction to be realistic enough that if you tow a heavy object like a tree through the crop it destroys the crop like it would IRL. I know FS isnt exactly a strict simulator, but it is called Farming Simulator after all. If one has crop destruction turned on, it should cause anything heavy that would ordinarily destroy the crop in real life to do it in the game. Also frost damage should become a thing as well (for those that want to turn it on and have some extra difficulty and realism), I know over here in Australia, if its a really cold morning with no cloud cover in the winter where its forecast for frost, the frost can burn and kill entire fields of crops. In that case the farmers chip it immediately and sell it as hay. Happened last year I remember driving down in June (early Winter) and seeing entire fields chopped and windrowed into swaths. I asked my folks why that was and they said a week or two prior they had a bad frost and some farmers lost most if not all thier crop to frost burn.

Okay man so A I I love your videos me and my daughter watch them together all the time!! B, PLEASE use the winch when you pull the line go to the base of the tree you can then right click and have the winch pull to the back of your tractor you do not need to be in the tractor to do this!! You can then detach the tree and pull the next one next to the one you just pulled note if you lower the winch to the ground and pull the big trees to your tractor instead you can make them nice and uniform they will stay straight instead of flinging around as well!! It's a much more efficient prosses and will avoid you getting caught up on things like stumps and equipment

26:31 those small "pencil trees" I don't bother with, they're not worth the time. I'll cut them down, then cut them up so they disappear. Only the last 3 stages of growth are worth it, to me anyway. This is your game, you do you boo 😂
But you'd do yourself a solid if you cut the big ones down to 12 meters, with that particular winch you can attach a large number of logs. But you're losing some wood with so much hanging out of the zone. I believe there 7500-8000 liters of wood per one big tree.

After multiple hundreds of hours in this game personally, stacking pallets and bales are the bane of my existence. I truly hate having to use a forklift or any front end loader. They need to make it easier to load and unload pallets and bales using the lifts and F.E.L.

    • @maximplus04

I'd say practice makes perfect when loading pallets. I think the real issue is how glitchy it gets when you do it the legit way. Or atleast for me, I've had multi times when trying to lift 2 or 3 pallets stacked that they just explode of the forks and go flying everywhere. super strength has saved my sanity mutli times from this. now I just use autoloading trailers and use my imagination on how they get loaded.

I was curious about a few things. Why not sell the smaller tractor and front loader, since you have the forklift? It (small tractor) seems like it can't really keep up, and even if you can't get much for it, it frees up space in front of the sawmill. Additionally, you seem to have a great amount of space (now that you've mowed and bailed) so a thought I had was to move your fields down and start planting trees. That way you can keep your sawmill running in the long term.

It doesn't make a world of difference either way, but the weed penalty is less than the crop damage plus herbicide penalty. You would have been better off just leaving the weeds. Live and learn, just remember to catch them early from now on.

And also so many people have said, cut them in half. You'll see more from it.... Drag them over like you did with the last set, stay attached, cut in half, drag the halves you're still hooked up to in, well. Back up, attach to the other two halves, pull them forward, sell. It'll add 30 seconds but I almost guarantee you double what's going in. Simply run a test. It's not that hard. This is competitive.... Every mistake you make could cost you winning for once. Just saying.

Why don't you just use the winch to push them together and connect the at the end? Laying together like straight lines, much easier to handle, think also about where you cut and the direction the tree will fall

i have 2 small questions i was not able to find the answers, 1 how do you unload something even when its not a location to drop it, and second how do you change the options on the mowers to have a swath

    • @PgetzkeFarmstead
      @PgetzkeFarmstead ปีที่แล้ว

I play on ps5. Hold L1 or R1 (don't remember which one), and it gives an option to unload here. That will unload anything in trailers, seeders, and sprayers. As for mowers, only certain ones have the ability to swath. Some will give the "work mode" option when cycling through the options again with L1 or R1

You should start planting some trees in a corner the next episode, it take some time for them to grow and it's not a big investment but big profit. Time is money😂

Just commented on chainsaws video, I wonder if it isnt more efficient to just buy a wooded plot? It isnt like he is going to utilize a ton of trees anyway, just enough to keep the mill fed. I would just buy that plot on the uphill side for starters.

@@seanobrien7169 I would think it depends on how long does the series last. If he only has time to process those trees for sure but if he has time for multiple harvests then it's worth planting. Either way more plots always better in the long run

Maybe a shot in the Dark? But why don't you plants lots of trees, you don't need to pay attention to them other than planting and cutting them down for quite nice profit afterwards?

11:27 I don't understand why folks don't compact and level as they go. DW isn't the only one to not do this, Chainsaw doesn't, lots of guys don't. But if after the 3rd or 4th load you start using your loaded wagon (cuz it's heavy) to go over the pile a couple/few times until it's at 100%, the amount of time spent compacting at the end is next to zero. Of course that big machine made short work of it. But also it makes it easier to get over the pile and not get stuck.
If you watch the guys that do this IRL, they have tractors/machines that do this as the material is being brought in. The guys my boys n I watched in Idaho had one guy in a Case quadtrac with a leveler on the front pushing it up towards the top, then two other guys in similar machines (I forget the brands, but they also had 8 tires) that were compacting. Then there was 10 truck and trailer going between the pile and the field where the grass was being blown in by a Claas forager. Was something to see for sure. I could've driven any of it, after talking to the boss for a bit and him telling me if I wanted to try I could, but these were all migrant workers and probably not getting paid much to begin with, I didn't want in get between their dollar and their wallet. But was still very cool to watch. The boys loved it and did nothing but grass work for a week when we got home the next week lol.
