Welcome back guys, today we have this Trip Report on Amtrak's Heartland Flyer from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth! This will be my first time riding a train, and I'm excited to see how this experience goes! I hope you guys enjoy!

2:19 As an avid railfan I can tell you that those 2 locomotives were both rare.
The first one was a BNSF C44-9W "Fakebonnet". these were painted in the late 90's right after the railway was created from the merger. BNSF did not have an official paint scheme, so they decided to paint a handful of their new C44-9Ws in Santa Fe's iconic "Warbonnet" scheme. These were nicknamed "Fakebonnets" do to saying BNSF on the side in stead of Santa Fe. Speaking of Warbonnets, the second locomotive was an actual Santa Fe Warbonnet, you can tell because it is much more faded, and it actually says Santa Fe on the side instead of BNSF. These are even rarer than the Fakebonnets, as many have been rebuilt, repainted, or... scrapped. I've only seen one of these, despite seeing BNSF fairly regularly.

You should ride in Amtrak In Pennsylvania around horseshoe curve it’s a big bend .Amtrak 43 departs in Harrisburg than goes to Altoona then to Pittsburgh

I truly wish I could experience my first train ride again, unfortunately I was a tiny child. I know I’m a #avgeek but there is truly no better way to travel.

Do you have an opinion as to whether it would be possible and cost effective to upgrade the tracks so the trip time could be reduced by 1:20 to a 2:40 trp from 4:00 by increasing the average speed from 50 mph to 75 mph?

Hey! Yeah, that's a really good point. I am not an expert on this subject, but I would think the rails and turns can accommodate 75mph. Not sure why it's only 50mph, I have a good friend that may know, so I will be sure to ask and get back to you!

There is (or was a few years ago) a fitting tribute plaque for a long time Black rail worker. Unfortunately it was partially defaced by graffiti, probably by some racist idiot. Hopefully it is still there and has been restored.
