Ok I just finished the course Melanie and I have a story...I purchased it last night in 90+ F ca 36 C Georgia 🇺🇸 heat. Someone hit an electric pole down the street. Hope they are ok. 5 police cars went by. Anyway, my beloved and necessary AC went out with the electric. I closed everything down so it would not get too hot too fast. I had 20% left on my phone and finally got around to looking at your latest post. Purchased the course and binged it till my cell died. I am not a noob artist, but I have been struggling to center and gather my ideas cohesively to make a sketchbook. (I tend to paint on paper and save it, just not in a sketchbook - seems so intimidating to me in book form.) I might know a lot of things you said, but to have it so organized and in such an inspiring way was so helpful. Best $21 I have spent in awhile. Buy the course! I learned and re-learned so much. Some takeaways: 1. finish the book no matter what. 2. Find inspiration in your hobbies and what surrounds you. 3. Be easy on your artistic soul (which I needed to hear bc I am a details perfectionist). I'm not giving away anymore...this course really spoke to me. I'm thinking a portrait study sketchbook of various body parts and a videogame sketchbook (Sims, Division 2 Xbox One (love me the dystopia shooters) and ConanExiles Xbox One. I am so inspired and you know what thanks bc yesterday I was dragging artistically. Get the course. It's well priced and I know I will be playing it in the background as I paint. “If you’re looking for a long project…” (talking about the first idea, the negative painting technique can be quite tedious and thus takes very long).
I take about a thousand times more on paintings so I can’t even finish a quick painting in a few days 😅
Love the technique though and loved the ideas!
You could make the leaves much much bigger and it would take a lot less time 😊

Once I saw a woman superglue a new colored pencil to the old one, flat ends together, and then could use up the whole thing and it will just go into the new one.
Just curious..... what colors do you have in your White Nights set? Is it the actual set or did you customize it?
It's the actual set minus the Ochre which I swapped for a teal tone 😊
